  1. There are no good guys in this. Blame the administration all you want- this is the country and on a larger scale, the world. It is all starting to break down.......
  2. Flutie, Johnson, Bledsoe and Losman each provided some exciting times, even if the team wasn't good enough to allow them to be consistent. Flutie's bootleg td against Jacksonville, Johnson's scrappy performance in the playodd game, Bledsoe in the snow game against Miami and I particularly remember Losman's last second td pass against Houston.
  3. Too bad they weren't smart enough to keep Wade. I am sure he just saw Buffalo as a stepping stone.....just like the guy who just left UB. The Bills aren't even a steppingstone anymore, they are a dead end
  4. Actually, Wade Phillips wanted him on staff. That's more than enough for me. I hope Wade wins the superbowl this year
  5. No. I actually don't HAVE to be kidding. The only mistake that was made was putting him in charge of special teams. From what I understand, he was a very good defensive coach. You don't make moves to appease the fickle fans. They would continue to buy tickets anyways, as there is nothing else to do out there. Sabres? PLEASE!
  6. Just because he wasn't a good presidential candidate doesn't mean that Senator McCain has a "feeble lack of intellect" as you put it.
  7. Flutie did a few things which made up for our not having an offensive line, which hurt us in the long run. I would have taken Trent Dilfer at QB over Flutie any day.....he was the QB I was hoping for when we got Bledsoe
  8. Are you saying the poor and lazy don't get demonized too
  9. Jones shouldn't have been fired. He should have been reassigned to the defense, like Wade wanted
  10. There is racism is the tea party. There is also racism among the democratic and republican parties. People hate things that are different from themselves- they feel invalidated by that which is different. Everybody has a degree of racism in them
  11. Socialism can be benevolent to a point, as can a monarchy or a theocracy. The problem is that power corrupts. And that corruption makes the leadership go from benevolent to malevolent. And that pattern exists in both the government and private sector. We can't trust the government or private sector- we can only trust ourselves
  12. 2010 REGULAR SEASON SCHEDULE Sunday, Sept. 12 MIAMI Dolphins 1:00pm W Sunday, Sept. 19 at Green Bay Packers 1:00pm L Sunday, Sept. 26 at New England Patriots 1:00pm L Sunday, Oct. 3 NEW YORK Jets 1:00 PM L Sunday, Oct. 10 JACKSONVILLE Jaguars 1:00 PM L BYE Sunday, Oct. 17 BYE WEEK Sunday, Oct. 24 at Baltimore Ravens 1:00 PM L Sunday, Oct. 31 at Kansas City Chiefs 1:00 PM L Sunday, Nov. 7 CHICAGO Bears (TORONTO) 1:00 PM W Sunday, Nov. 14 DETROIT Lions 1:00 PM L Sunday, Nov. 21 at Cincinnati Bengals 1:00 PM* W Sunday, Nov. 28 PITTSBURGH Steelers 1:00 PM* L Sunday, Dec. 5 at Minnesota Vikings 1:00 PM* L Sunday, Dec. 12 CLEVELAND Browns 1:00 PM* L Sunday, Dec. 19 at Miami Dolphins 1:00 PM* L Sunday, Dec. 26 NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS 1:00 PM* L Sunday, Jan. 2 at New York Jets 1:00 PM* L 3-13- we upset Chicago on five Cutler picks, but are squashed by Detroit's defense- they always seem to beat us. We always seem to give Concy problems.
  13. From what I remember, the decision was made not to run another play, because one of the Titans pulled off Johnson's shoe, forcing I'd to kick the fg with time left
  14. The fallacy in that is this: what if you have an incumbant that is trying to do a good job, but is hampered by the current bureaucratic mess?
  15. Every officiating class and clinic I have been a part of lays out the positioning rules for before a play and documents as many potential situations regarding positioning during the play. Beyond that, officials are taught to try to best cover the highest percentage plays from that point. From my experience as an umpire, I can guarantee there is a high level of communication between officials before every play- be is verbal or signals. There are a lot of things that can put an official in bad positions- trick plays in football, a bad hop in baseball. sure, maybe the call was blown. We may never know- I hope to never know. All I know is that it was a decade ago now- I have endured things far more real than a bad call in a football game- I am well over the homerun throwback. I actually can look back now at what a good game it was and what a stellar game our defense put it. I think I remember Peerless Price having a good game as well. Just remember- a blown call put us in Superbowl XXVII.
  16. Sorry, but as furious as I was when it happened, I have to say no. Very tough on the field call, and replay can't accurately handle this type of play either, because angles skew the view on whether it was a lateral or not. There was no conspiracy- the refs did everything they could
  17. I can agree about it being the wrong time, although I think the false starts were more due to injuries and guys playing out of position (I remember Zeigler playing left tackle for an injuried Fina). I still don't feel bad for Flutie or any player that gets benched. You make a decision and live with it.
  18. I never said that. Wins and losses are not a QB statistic and never will be
  19. The Bills made the decision they thought was best for the organization. Flutie got paid what they were contractually obligated to pay him- he didn't get screwed. The game is bigger than any of the players
  20. Actually, the FACT is that those records belonged to the teams, not the QB. I am a professional statistician and I can tell you that although there are way too many stats for QBs, wins and losses are not among them. I don't think there is any argument that Flutie was better than Johnson, but Flutie was not screwed by the Bills- this is pro sports and stuff happens. It wouldn't have mattered who was the QB in 2001, with Sullivan and Hulsey on the Oline, the offense was doomed to fail. The defense was also being transitioned and wasn't very good either.
  21. Or what? You'll scold me? Oh, so scary........maybe you should be the one to keep YOUR opinions to yourself, sunshine
  22. Dude, you should be a lawyer, really. It isn't time to look at the QB yet. Edwards may or may not be a good QB, personally, I don't care. We have wasted countless draft picks chasing something that we can't have with our current team. Build up a team, then you can win with an average QB, which I think we have three of, or win big with a great QB. We currently are unproven at every position, because we constantly reach at every position. We should have put up with Collins or Bledsoe and built a viable team. Instead, we have been chasing our tail for a decade, while everyone else kicks it.
  23. They have been smart enough to get people to buy tickets....
  24. Jeff Hostetler, Trent Dilfer, Doug Williams, Mark Rypien and Brad Johnson are the first ones that spring to mind.........funny, two of those guys beat us in the superbowl
  25. A bunch of idiots that go off topic instead of focusing what a thread was about
