  1. Personally, the current bill is terrible, but instead of repealing it, Congress should look to improve it. But that makes way too much sense for our government- which by the way, is the government of the best place on earth. I think that statement should replace "In god we trust" on our money.
  2. 1) Carolina isn't pulling the plug on Claussen. Cowher will take over and draft a pass rusher. Cincy and Detroit won't be going QB either 2)Troup and Carrington will play more next year, allowing Williams some snaps at DE. We still need more help in the front 7, but this will help a lot. 3)Luck will drop to us. Particularly after we lose this week. 4)Really? How many games have we won with him? He is a servicable QB that Gailey has coached up. We need a playmaker at QB 5) So what. Don't want him.
  3. Much like many other things, there is no magic bullet that will provide perfect health care to everyone. If there was, we would have found it a long time ago. Death panels have existed for a long time- they just aren't called that. Whether the decision to withhold care comes from the government or the private sector, it is still the same thing. If it weren't for the deficit, I think providing health care would be a great thing. Eliminate the deficit, raise the age for social security and retirement about 10 years and it might be feasible. By the way- the continued "America is the best on earth" is a bunch of nonsense. True or not, it doesn't mean anything. If we can make it better, then why wouldn't we. If there is something wrong, why should we keep quiet about it- I find that very unpatriotic!
  4. I am hoping we move up enough to get Luck. I am starting to come around on Cam Newton and I like Ryan Mallett as well. Fitz is a guy to hang onto though
  5. Millard Filmore seemed pretty awful, at least from what I have heard about him. Although that was well before my time. In all fairness, a lot of things out of the control of who is president determine how they are perceived.
  6. My bad- although Bush wasn't a great president, I think the "Worst Ever" is hyperbole. I think the katrina stuff was American bureaucratic BS aty its best and don't blame him for that. He also wasn't the first (probably not the last) to wrongly lead us into the types of wars we are in now. Everything going on right now, has to be the best or worst, because we are dealing with people with five minute attention spans. I would list Reagan as the top republican president and Clinton as the top democrat presidents during my lifetime. I was too young to remember anyone before that. I am not sure we have had a truly great president since Abraham Lincoln, although history is starting to ease up on Nixon. I would like to read up on FDR and his period of time though.
  7. I think he overstated how good Reagan was, but IMHO, Reagan was a good President. I won't get into actual policy, but Reagan was very good at getting people to follow and believe in him. Sometimes that leads to a self fulfilling prophecy.
  8. President (insert name of current President here) is the worst in the history of the country. He is a (insert name of your opposing party), which means he is against what the (insert name of party which you obey)'s supposedly stand for. Above is what America is and why we are headed in a negative direction. Americans pretty much think that Obama and Bush are the only two presidents we have and that they should religiously adhere to the 2-part system. Heck, I'm not even sure we should religiously adhere to religion.......
  9. Yeah, he hasn't given up a sack, which by some means something........that stat is garbage. Poz is really good 15 yards downfield. Where is Roscoe Parrish?
  10. To both- get out of here. That won't fix the deficit.
  11. Lets just push both parties out and start over. We all know that America doesn't have the will for that though. America wants everything to be easy and someone to blame.
  12. I didn't see that. I did see Fair Game and saw it as entertainment, although I find the real story very disturbing and not entertaining in the least. The real story is two parties using something for political leverage that shouldn't have been used. I also don't understand Libby's place in it- I read somewhere at some point that Armitage was the one who leaked Plame.
  13. Earmarks aren't going away, neither is the size of the deficit. The end is nigh
  14. I have seen some thing written about the movie "Fair Game" that make me laugh- calling it factually incorrect.....whatever. Its a freaking movie! It is not a documentary. It is made to sell tickets and be entertaining, which it was. I am not sure of who outed Plame and we probably never will know, but whoever it was, should rot for it. Wilson wasn't right for his methods, as he obtained his information in the employ of the CIA, but the response to it was worse. If you haven't seen it, it is a good movie that isn't just a rerun of another movie
  15. We are learning to compete with inferior talent. With either Luck or Mallett under center, we will have a guy under center who can make the plays that Fitz cant- and moving Fitz to the bench makes that aspect of the team stronger. Upgrade the OT spots and we are in good shape offensively. Add some talent and depth to the DL and upgrade the LB's and the defense will be in great shape. Might take two good drafts, but it will take time to develop a young QB anyways. This team has improved by leaps and bounds, but we need to have more good offseasons to continue that trend. Can't wait for Spiller to return and for Johnson's continued improvement- never expected him to be as good as he is becoming- today notwithstanding.
  16. Fitz is Frank Reich. I didn't say that I don't want him on the team. I agree about a couple guys on both lines and at LB.
  17. Rescinding don't ask, don't tell, which was one of the most ludicrous things to come out of the Clinton Administration won't hurt our troops. First off, there shouldn't be any sexual relations in the military anyways, but to think people that are put in life or death situations can't handle working with people who are gay is stupid and unamerican. And I say unamerican based on what the country was actually built on, not the entertainmenbt-industry built mess we have now
  18. We also have a mediocre starting QB and a mediocre offensive line.
  19. Fitz can't make all the throws and he isn't big in the clutch. You start with QB and pass rusher. Yes, I knwo we have had the worst lines in the league for the last decade and that has to be fixed too. We won't be a contender next season and fans have no choice but to accept it.
  20. Just cover your eyes. If you don't see the deficit, it isn't there
  21. Gale Gilbert woulda gotten it done- or Rick Strom!
  22. This is much like the "Aaron Schobel is the best on the team, so he is the best in the league" argument. Fitz was an upgrade over Edwards and he is a great backup QB. If you accept him as your franchise guy, you accept mediocrity.
  23. Don't hold your breath, we will elect another empty suit in 2012
  24. Romo for a first round pick? Well, we did give a first and fourth for Ron Johnson......
