Great news.....and definitely long over due.

Vic has been a Bills homer for quite a while. Personally I enjoy having one of the beat writers for NFL.com that appreciates the Bills. Go Vic!

If we put things in perspective the best thing that happened was the coaches annoucing TE as our starting QB instead of an open competition. TE had all the snaps during the OTAs along with mini-camp that he didn't get last year. Personally I think that made all the difference with his production so far.

Best offensive lineman you've ever seen?
drunkenirishmann replied to Tcali's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Larry Allen from Dallas. Many consider him one of the best ever play the guard position and one of the strongest players to ever play for the NFL. I remember reading he could deadlift over 900lbs. OUCH! -
Congrats dude.....that's awesome. I enjoyed rooting for ya as well today. Why save it now when you can LET IT RIDE into nexts weeks game. Heck you can double your money and even make a bigger down payment. LET IT RIDE!!

I'm not sure who the color analyst is for the Bills game today but I can honestly say I've never heard anyone on the air that bad. He is stumbleing over half of his words and even the play by play analyst has to help him out 2/3rds of the time. I think my ears are bleeding he is so God awful.

Fantasy Football Bills Picks
drunkenirishmann replied to Pilsner's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Lynch in round 2 in a 10 man league?? WOW, that's by far the latest I've heard of him going in any league. In most legues he is a mid to late 1st round pick, let alone the 6th pick in round 2. Might I ask who was your 1st pick...Moss? -
Do you find Ray Lewis annoying?
drunkenirishmann replied to lets_go_bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've always been a fan of Ray Lewis. He seems like the type of individual that always views the team 1st and his personal needs 2nd (within reason). The self motivation he has for every game could definitely and the intensity he plays with would be nice if it was copied by other players. I always viewed him as a Daryl Talley type player (blasphemy right?) -
According to Paul Hamilton Dick J was angry when he announced AC injury and them putting him on IR. If you read between the lines this is a big FU to Crowell from the front office for not having surgery before the regular season starting and placing himself in front of the teams needs. I'm not a huge fan of Crowells but hes definitely bent over the Bills on this one. I just hope this knee jerk reaction from Jauron and company by placing him on IR doesn't come back and bite us in the a$$

I agree completely w/Bill. Both situations completely make no sense and it's getting to the point I'm getting irritated just thinking about it. Like so many posters have said before, the front office put so much faith into Jason Peters with his contract last year that for him to attempt to renegociate already is asinine no matter how well he performed. It's not like he's making the league min or something outrageous like that. Getting more that 3.5m for someone that just moved into a new position is more than fare. You definitely can't blame the FO on this one. As for Evans, I'm dumbfounded why this hasn't been a closed issue months ago. Are they planning on tagging him next year and them hoping James Hardy comes into his own and letting Evans go the following? Or is the FO or Evans agent being stubborn on negociations? Once again another situation that doesn't make sense going into the season. I just hope they're not betting everything on James Hardy being a premier WR in a few years. That would be a huge gamble.

Official Bills / Lions Game Thread
drunkenirishmann replied to Heitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
either Bentley or tasker stated Hamden will play the entire game -
This has been probably already mentioned before but for initially being a FA and coming from the TE position he should compare last years contract as amazing feat to have achieved. Granted he has played phenominal but he just signed a new contract and the coaches have performed a miracle by switching his position and coaching him to the level he's playing at now.........but he's only been playing @ this level for one year. If anything he should get in camp, play like has has been, and work out an agreement for negotiating a new contract next year. What do people here think........that he has become greedy all of a sudden or is someone suggesting he hold-out? (agent, family, etc.)

Greatest All Time : QB's

When I started watching football back in the mid-late 70's Dan Fouts was the best pure passing QB around. Even today I would still put him in my top 5. -
Who is the best bill you ever met?
drunkenirishmann replied to Yasin's BILLS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When I was about 8 years old (34-78-83 happened to be with me) we were getting autographs @ Fredonia State college when we approached what we thought was a player. Anyway, @ the same time we both ask him "are you a Bill?".......he replied, "nope, I'm a Jim". At 1st we were completely confused until we saw what he wrote.......it happened to be Jim Ritcher. After he happily signed his autograph he talked for a minute and went off to practice. Very nice guy. He was all smiles the whole time. (unlike Joe Ferguson) -

(obviously)I wasn't @ the game so I can't give an opinion on the wind.........but you have to believe that it was really bad for them to go for it on forth down 45yds away. -

Those would be the infamous comments by "Jimmy the Greek". -
I to was in the Sherman camp but @ the same time I wasn't upset @ the Jauron hiring. I was excited about bringing Levy back on board though......I thought he brought integrity back to the organization that was strongly missed during the TD reign. As for JP, I was excited about drafting him but apprehensive after he became a starter last year w/his lackluster play. Needless to say, I'm a believer now!

Petition to remove OJ
drunkenirishmann replied to buffalobillsfootball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Back in 1977 when I was 6 years old he was like an idol to me. As far as I was concerned when ever his name was mentioned I was proud that he was a Bills player. Now, when I hear or see him my stomach turns. Regardless of what he did on the field as a Bill, I consider him a murdering butcher and should be forever removed from the wall of fame. He is a disgrace as a human being.
