Whitner up on Sirius w Ryan and Kirwin...

Yeah, it was an interesting part of the interview. It was almost over, the guys asked Donte to put McKelvin on (he was downstairs playing video games) then Whitner brought up Corner and he really did stress the word player. He said a couple different ways that he's quick, and gets in front of the ball - but can't catch it. They joked his name isn't Reggie Receiver, said he's getting everyone ready for the tip drill. Still, nice to hear the guys are out there making some hard effort. A couple other thoughts that caught my ear: Whitner was talking about how hard the entire team played last year (hear that Jauron haters) and said he heard they would play for free. And he said it really felt that way and that they're back working hard this year. When talking about Hardy he praised his work ethic, said he's like a vet out there, is one of the first in and the last out, studies hard and wants to learn. I really, really can't wait for this season to start. Don't get me wrong it's a big summer and is going to be a fun one, but MAN am I excited to see this *team* play together... -

- Wellness weekend in Cleveland this weekend - Talked about his want and need to give back to the community - Asked if he's a Pro-Bowl guy (Schein thinks he's ready to make it this year); says he can play multiple positions; will play more FS this year - About the rookies: Leodis has a spring in his step, has reaction, jumping routes, willing to learn. Hardy is gong to be a big time receiver in this league; looks like he's been in the league for years, works hard, catches with his hands, uses his body to shield the ball - Derek Fine; similar to Cooley in stature, can be the guy to go over the middle - On Trent: looking very comfortable, talking in locker room on the field, lining guys up in the right spots, developed into a big-time leader - Believes we will make a big splash, we played hard last year, now we have some more vets and we're going to make a splash - On Toronto: it's going to be exciting, fun, guys go to Toronto during the season so they know the city - On McCargo: Donte has told him he needs to be a force, thinks if our front four can get a push we'll be really good - On looking out for rookies: Talks to Hardy and Mckelvin every day - On Lynch: Has talked to him, the organization and players are behind him, doesn't know much about the situation, we love him if he's innocent or guilty - Rest of the summer: shooting a commercial for United Way with Leodis at the Bills facility, will be working out, watching the league, Bahamas before camp - On Corner: He is a *player*, jumps in front of a lot of balls not catching them yet, he's fast and quick, he'll jump in front and tip it for other players to pick the ball (lots of laughs). Sorry the interview was with Tim Ryan and Pat Kirwin. Good stuff though!! -

Adam Schein here on Sirius NFL RadioOOOooooo... He's really grown on me - I love the Sirius NFL channel, if only it were all Buffalo Bills 24/7

Nice long interview with Lee! The highlights: - Contract: There is a contract offer on the table, they're going to work from there. Lee said it would be ideal to have a deal done before training camp!! - On Edwards: wants to see him grow as a leader this year. He did a good job, but in his second year Lee wants to see him step up and really control the huddle and team - On JP: He's just getting himself as ready as he can so he can take advantage should an opportunity present itself - On Hardy: thinks he'll be a good one, needs to step up to NFL level - On Turk: likes that he's had big game experience, expects him to bring good things to the O - On the Pats: we need to learn to win the close ones, then we can compete with anyone - On Toronto: thinks it'll be good for season ticket holders in that area, should be good for him and the players (more exposure in a bigger market) - On the D: Doesn't know much about McKelvin, thinks that the Stroud pick-up should really help the entire D (Schein said our D line could be "dominant") - On the labor agreement: wasn't surprised owners opted out. Feels there needs to be some new payment system for rookies - On his contract: Basing his value off of Fitz, Moss, Berrian All in all it was great to hear Lee on for so long talking about the season. Sounds like we're going to do what we can to lock him up! Schein thinks the Bills are going to be a special team this year!

You pulled the most misleading sentence out of that article and made it the topic of your thread... The full sentence reads: "But that’s not to say the Bills aren’t “mortified” about the allegation" It does not say anyone within the Bills said they were mortified by the allegation, the *author* of the story is saying the Bills are mortified. He just puts misleading quotes around the word "mortified". Embarrassed? Yes. Mortified? I doubt it. Interesting too that the "insider" said "THEY sure have buyers remorse" rather than "WE sure have buyers remorse". Heck, I'm not even a team insider and I would say we...

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/writ...vers/index.html AFC East: Buffalo (Going up) -- I foresee the Bills being in the thick of the AFC wild-card scrum as the regular season winds down in '08. They're better at quarterback with Trent Edwards entering his second season as the unquestioned starter. They're better at offensive coordinator, where Turk Schonert will fight predictability at every turn. They're better in the defensive interior even if tackle Marcus Stroud is no longer a Pro Bowl perennial, and they're better with cornerback Leodis McKelvin and receiver Kevin Hardy arriving via the draft. With improved health early on, Buffalo's season won't be over before it even starts, as was the case in '07.

Did you see the Robert Royal spot? Moving...

The logic of that article immediately made me think of the scene in Major League where the guy plasers the ball and the dude in the stand is saying "it's not out - it's too high!"
-
I love that their argument is that we drafted a guy that's *too good*. Just what we don't want if we hope to win the Super Bowl, a bunch of guys that are too good at their position...

Roll with the group mentality and believe that we're dooooooomed!

Just caught a clip on the 2 Minute Drill, but bascially Payton said that NO was very interested in McKelvin, that they had him in for some workouts and got to know him a bit and Payton feels that he's going to be a really good player in the NFL. He also said that Buffalo did a lot to improve themselves this weekend with just this one pick... More good news for the rooks!!

Waaay too much to fully recap, but they seem to love what we've done in the draft the past few years, think that Jauron is the right man to be in charge and said that our returning injured players are going to make a big difference! Damn I'm high on next year!! I'll post the video link when it's up...

Sweet. Not sure who the host is (Mike?), but he said: - Tough kid - He's a guy that went to the right team, Buffalo - no team plays better ST's and this kid fits Buffalo perfectly - Athletic, make plays in space and will add a dimension to the kicking team - Buffalo is starting to collect a lot of good young players They're going to check back on the story in November. Good feedback on one of the new guys! Supposed to be an AFCE draft profile too...

*Official Day 2 Draft Thread*
Heitz replied to In space no one can hear's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
NFLN said that he's shown some flashes, but isn't consistent (yet). Good pick with potential and fills a need... A scout said "he just needs to figure it out" i.e. get in some games and play and he'll be good.
