  1. Slide started when defenses figured out when you take away the underneath routes that Trent can't play. Rush 3 or 4 and drop 7 or 8 into coverage and TE has looked like a dear in headlights. He also seems totally lost against 3-4 defenses.

Which to me raises the question - is it just that Trent can't read coverage, or that Turk is putting the receivers in such bad positions that Trent really doesn't have a chance on the play?

  2. Vic said that Trent has confided to team members that he and Turk just aren't seeing the same things on the field and that he doesn't feel like he's getting all the help and guidance that he needs to be successful.

Vic also said that Turk and Van Pelt are a little upset at Trent because some of the things they're putting into the game isn't being executed.

I'm sure we'll hear more on this as the year draws to a close...

  3. Wouldn't picking Baltimore up in the middle of the night and moving them be a little dumber (and way more scumbaggy)? At least from the viewpoint of the fans?

Also, had the Bills not sh*t the bed after our sweet start and actually had something to play for, perhaps the atmosphere at the game would have been different. Plus the super-high ticket prices in the midst of the awful economy didn't help put the Bills faithful in the seats either.

That said it was depressing as hell watching that game - the amount of Fin fans, the lack of noise, the sterile atmosphere, the fact that it wasn't freaking cold and windy (though, I can only imagine how JP would have looked in actual *weather conditions*) and, oh yeah, the fact that we absolutely sucked made it a surreal experience.

But we're locked in for the next few years, so where do we go from here?

  4. I like the rest of you, am a a bills fan for life........when they win, I smile, when they lose I get depressed and have an awful week.

but something I learned this year was after the jets game......I just didnt care anymore...........it was like I had wasted my entire list feeling bad when the bills would lose a game........the entire week I just felt horrible at school, college, presently work.

but now........its whatever.........too bad it took 2/3rds of my life to get to this point

What have you learnt this season?

    Call Artie Lange - waaaaa....

  5. He completely blew the pass to Royal. The reason Royal looked like a drunk was because the ball went to his outside shoulder when Royal was prepared for it to go to the inside. You saw him twist his bulky body trying to make a play which, inside or out, was way overthrown anyway. Particularly for a dude who was completely...and I mean COMPLETELY wide open.

As far as the Royal throw - is was a horrible throw, just pathetic. The reason Royal was stumbling around is because Edwards threw the ball to the inside instead of the outside and he was trying to turn around while running while stretching up and reach for a ball that was 10 feet over his head.

This is why I love TBD :D

fwiw, I think had he not stumbled and kept running straight to the corner of the end zone he would have given himself a chance to catch the ball. Miscommunication for sure though...

  6. McNabb critics are funny....

When i think about McNabb, i always have those regrets coming back from the year he was drafted... He'd have been the prefect fit for the Bills, a starter for at least a decade, the perfect way to regionalise the franchise and win fans in Central NY... and we'd have given him much more respect that the never happy Eagles fans ever did... we should have trade up to take him... i remember guys laughing at me here when i proposed that at the time...

Does anyone remember when, I think, John Butler tried to get McNabb to come out from school a year early? He said something along the lines of "If a certain young man playing QB at a nearby college were to come out this year, we would definitely take him with our top pick."

Love McNabb or hate him, I doubt that there are many that wouldn't take the guy over all of our QB's over the past 10 years...

  7. Agreed about Manning and Brees. I have said the same thing about Eli and backed it up with stats. Last year, Eli was 10-6, had 13 fumbles and threw 20 picks. He had a 56% pass completion ratio. Not exactly a superbowl year, but then again, guess what? Coughlin didn't pull Eli when he was playing poorly and Eli sure did play poorly at times. Sometimes for extended periods. The coaching staff has to try to restore Edwards confidence and give him the opportunity to play through this slump. Building a franchise QB is a process and there are going to be ups and downs. Neither JP or Hamdan is the answer and pulling Edwards and putting in either one of those guys isn't going to help the team or Edwards. It's painful to sit through Edwards slump, but that's what we are all going to have to do. It would be downright foolish to make any changes to the QB position right now. We're going to have to sit tight for the rest of this year and hope Edwards can ride this thing out. I'm betting he does.

Well said. Can we please make this required reading for the board???
