  1. Why? How do you explain the out of nowhere candidate, Southern coach bring brought in? Pure credentials? Ralphie Boy? Brandon?
  2. The move left the league scratching their heads and that Frazier would have taken the job had it been offered to him. He went on to say the Bills could have hired Gailey when they fired Schonert. Also said they could have given Frazier or Fewell the job and brought Gailey in as OC. In the first comment it seems to me he's ignoring the regime change that's taken place in Buffalo. Clearly this was Buddy Nix's decision - he was in charge of this hiring, not The Inner Circle as was when we fired Schonert. I bet Gailey wasn't CLOSE to on our radar at the beginning of last season, unless you had asked Buddy Nix who he would consider... In the second, he assumes that Nix and Ralph feel that a young coach in charge with a high power OC as number 2a is a good idea. Clearly these guys want someone that's coached at a high level in charge. It's not the Next Hot Thing, but it is stable. It's going to be interesting to see how this plays out...
  3. I <3 Buddy as a Public Speaker
  4. Much like our O, the presser is having a little trouble getting started! Don't they realize i have a conf call in 20 minutes>??
  5. It's on, brick are being shat by all
  6. Ha, was just going to post that! Direct quote: "Just talked to Coach Gailey, he's already got his coaching staff together. I cldnt get anything out of him. I have a meetin wit Buddy nx wk"
  7. This one is interesting, from #11 on the list above, Thurman posting on Twitter: "Just talked to Coach Gailey, he's already got his coaching staff together. I cldnt get anything out of him. I have a meetin wit Buddy nx wk" Very interesting indeed!!
  8. Last night Thurman said (on Twitter) that he asked Kelly about the hiring and his response was "go for it". How's that for vague info? Still, sounds like he was at least for it...
  9. FWIW, the guys on Sirius (Schein and, well, I'm not sure today) liked the move. They said, it was unexpected, but if you look deeper it's a good fit for the Bills. They said that Chan can fix Offenses and the both felt that Trent might actually thrive under him o_O Just a different perspective out there...
  10. Thurman had said that Gailey was a no-nonesense guy in Miami. I guess people were giving him guff, but he's saying you wouldn't be moaning about Miami if we were hiring Parcells...
  11. Thurman still tweeting about it: "Listen people, I know everyone hates Miami and that I played there. How wld u like if they gave the job to Parcells?" "And by the way, I asked Jimbo about it and he said go for it!!!!"
  12. ^^ nice info, my friend. Sounds like things could be worse...
  13. Agreed. I did like this, though: "The decision to relieve Gailey of his position has nothing to do with the quality of the man’s work or his competence. Gailey is one of the best offensive minds in the game. On top of that, there are not many better people in the game of football. He’s the personification of class, something Haley acknowledged on Monday."
  14. This.
  15. Not sure if this was posted, but FWIW Thurman tweeted: "It's there call, Chan is no nonsense type if guy, who holds players accountable for there actions. He will call out players. He was OC(cont)" "When I was with Miami. Calls out players in meetings, they take test on assignments, and practices hard.Thats all I know"
  16. He was Assistant GM with the Chargers for several years and is credited with helping them turn the team around, so while he hasn't held the title "GM" it's not like he has no experience. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buddy_Nix
  17. I guess my perspective is why bother to interview if you're not interested? Interviewing for a job takes time to research and prepare (maybe even a little stress), plus if you KNOW you're not interested you're doing a disservice to, and wasting the time of, a potential employer. I'm guessing with the little game the Jets are playing today, Brian has had a few other things on his plate. Maybe I just care less because Schotty wasn't one of the guys I wanted to see in a HC anyway. If we can't have a Cower or (to a lesser extent) a Shanahan, I'm down with one of the coordinators out there. From all that I've read I'm on the Frazier bandwagon - the guy is solid and by many, many accounts is ready for the top job and will be a good NFL HC. I'd definitely take him over Shotty and I prefer him over Grimm... My 2 cents.
  18. And by several accounts Buddy Nix is a top 5 talent evaluator, so the entire point of that quote it moot...
  19. Dude, who freaking cares? He's happy where he is, the Bills said "we'd like you to interview", he considered and said no. What is the big deal? I've had some opportunities to interview for jobs (at higher level positions) and have said no as well. Because, wait for it, I'm *happy* where I am. More responsibility, a better title and a higher pay grade doesn't automatically = happiness. The guys got a good thing going, no need to be a hater...
  20. Heck of a series by our old friend, Jason Peters.
  21. OMG, per Schefter's Twitter: "Before Pete Carroll surfaced, Eagles GM Tom Heckert and Ravens director of player personnel Eric DeCosta pulled out of Seahawks GM race." Clearly Heckert and DeCosta have ALREADY been hired by the Bills as our next GMs! Dooooooomed! How in hell are we going to operate with THREE General Manager!?!?
  22. Per Schefter's Twitter: "It's likely to be a New England reunion: Now that Charlie Weis has agreed to work in Kansas City, Romeo Crennel will not be far behind." They're getting the band back together man...
  23. According to respected (and resident) sports writer John Wawrow "Frazier's been a hot commodity for some time now. and the bills have already addressed the Rooney rule when they met with Perry. he is a good coach, with a solid reputation, who's just missed out on several other jobs over the past few years. am told he might even be the best coordinator candidate out there. ... that remains to be seen, but he's a sure-fire candidate." I'll take JW's opinion before yours, unless you have some credentials you'd like to let us all know about. If not, please go back to crying about something else...
  24. Talking about it on NFLN. Jason Lackenfor doesn't see it happening. They think maybe Cower is still waiting for Carolina, Tampa is still in the running...
  25. They were just talking about April on Sirius. Said that he might be the first ST coach to get a million dollar offer and they speculated that the Giants might be a landing spot for him (and if DJ becomes D Coord., there's that connection too).
