Welcome to last week, thanks for playing the game...

And I should trust your player analysis over Nix, Whaley and Gailey because...?

My Van Miller Club seat renewal form has arrived

If there's one thing Gailey has done consistently is run the freaking ball. Trent can get us to the 20 and Freddy to the end zone...

Exactly, what difference does it make? ICE you've been supportive of the Nix / Gailey regime so far, so look at it this way - if they think Trent should be at camp and have a shot to start, then maybe he should. It's going to be interesting to see who else they bring in as the 4th QB, especially if it's a rookie. Trent's off-season will tell the story on him, I'm sure he knows this is his last shot (in Buffalo at least). We'll have to see if he makes the effort and puts in the time to at least TRY and have a career...

Chan Gailey Speaks at the Combine - Video Link
Heitz replied to yungmack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Another solid interview from Gailey. He'll need to back up the talk, but I love what the guy has been saying since he was brought in... Count me in as fired up for the draft and next year's season! -
first of all, how do you trust a major news source that can't even format a picture correctly? Journalism is attention to details... My biggest problem is that the writer never explains *why* he thinks the new regime will fail. "While new employees have been brought in to fill the positions of general manager, head coach and various assistant coaching jobs, I remain skeptical. I’m afraid it’s just going to be the same results with a team that on the field has serious personnel issues, particularly at quarterback and up front in the trenches." OK, I complete disagree - who's right? The new staff is at least made up of guys that know football, many of whom have extensive coaching experience and they've even sprinkled in some young bucks too. As for the whining about prices going up, a $59 average price is still super inexpensive for a days outing that is as fun as a Bills game. Lift tickets for one day at most Vermont ski resorts are upwards of $80. My bar tab on weekends is often WAY more than $59! If I ever moved back near Buffalo, season tickets would be the FIRST thing I buy! There's all that, plus as was mentioned by many above, there are plenty of teams that are way more dysfunctional than the Bills!! Have a little faith my Bills friends, the tides HAVE to turn some day. Until then, have a beer, sit back and relax - no amount of your tears (or whining) is going to make the Bills a better team...

Definitely not complaining about that! I just rather see us drafting / picking up LBs rather than DBs...
-
lol - maybe you have a point there!

Didn't see this one posted... http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2010/02/15/f...-on-3-4-switch/ I like the comment about getting more linebackers onto the field. Let's hope that we can return to the days of excellent LB play that we used to have here. Remember too that George Edwards' background is in the LB corps. If we can get some players in here, I think we're going to like the D over the next few years! I also thought is was interesting that he mentioned it improving special teams too. Under the DB minded Jauron and DB minded D Coordinators over the years we've seen lots of DBs on ST. I'd rather see some LBs in there; guys that can take (and dish out) a pounding. Onward and upward...

Just wondering if anyone else is watching the Winter X Games on ESPN that past couple nights?

Let me break this down for TBD before the speculation starts... Rex Ryan's personality..... (Translation: Rex Ryan turned down the Bills offer to coach) jets chances vs indy..... (Translation: The Jets and Indy are storied franchises, the Bills are not) can you root for a style of play......" i'm still old school" (Translation: The Bills are new school and therefore Cower turned down Ralph) how vikings play when they travel....."must establish peterson early" (Translation: The Bills have no RB like Peterson, should trade Marshawn) were you interested in job opening at buffalo......."great fan base, chan gailey was a great choice, i'll take it year to year" (Translation: the fans are drunken jerks, Gailey was lucky and sucks, I'll coach anywhere but Buffalo next year) your future........"when i come back it will be with an organization where everyone is pulling in the same direction." (Translation: It won't be the the Bills, they're cheap, direction of team is all willy nilly) jerome bettis......"haven't talk to jerome in two years". (Translation: Jerome won't be coahing the Bills, hates Ralph) did Tomlin lose team......."i don't think so, still a potent team". (Translation: Tomlin turned down Buddy's offer to interview for the Bills job)

Welcome to the Information Non-Super Dirt Road my friend... OMG, just read a rumor that the Bills are considering Chan Freaking Galiey for the open HC spot!?!

Schefter just retweeted some random person's tweet that said the same thing. lol @ journalism.

I find it hard to believe, he doesn't sound at all like what Buddy or Chan said they would want in a D...

They're getting the band back together. Only this time the band is Skynyrd. And the city is Buffalo. Get ready to fly Free Birds...

What did everyone take out of the New Conference
Heitz replied to billsfreak's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Don't worry, when it comes out there will be 7,982 threads about how we overpaid and / or Ralph is super cheap. Trust me, you'll know when everyone else knows... -
It's been all over NFLN an Sirius that Harbaugh said no yesterday...

Just watched too - I'm actually a little excited. These guys are going to be tough and will hopefully bring some REAL football back to WNY. No link in the thread? http://www.buffalobills.com/media-lounge/v...a9-d1dece992ad0

Another good article from Arrowhead Pride from his KC days that talks about his offensive rankings and philosophy a bit, sounds like a fit for Buffalo to me... http://www.arrowheadpride.com/story/2008/1/17/113839/145

Why Gailey might be the right hire
Heitz replied to Orton's Arm's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What intrigues me is that this might bring some football knowledge and stability to the Bills for the next few years. Two old Southern coaches, who have known each other for years and have the same philosophy, working to bring in the personel to run their system. We'll definitely see a "run first, pass second" Offensive (both men have said so). It'll be interesting to see who the D coordinator is and what the plans on that side of the ball are, for sure... I think this was posted earlier, but here's a good article talking about Gailey's Offensive philosophy: http://www.arrowheadpride.com/story/2008/1/17/113839/145 Seriously, it sounds like these guys are at least *trying* to put together the O that we've been begging for here in Buffalo!
