  1. A few interesting quotes in this Chuck Pollock article: http://www.oleantimesherald.com/sports/article_b01d6682-1203-11e2-8fed-0019bb2963f4.html?two-bills-drive And there was this interesting comment from San Francisco offensive coordinator Greg Roman after Sunday’s game. “They gave us an unscouted (not previously played) look,” he said. “They had never shown that (approach) before. It was a great job by them ... they caught us. “That’s a tough one when you don’t know what’s coming. I’ve got to tip my hat to their coaching staff ... they got us.” So, it would appear that Wannstedt had an effective scheme ... Buffalo was down only 10-3 with a half minute left in the first half. Maybe, just maybe, it’s not the Xs and Os ... could it be the players instead? ________________________ Obviously just because the scheme was unseen, it doesn't make it "effective". But at least we know that Wanny is switching things up rather than calling the same exact D game after game. Let's hope they switch to something better for this weekend! Or at least that the players drink some Mountain Dew and get fired up for the game!!
  2. Amazing how ALL of our good players last year are crappy this year - me thinks there's something more to it than just the players getting "old and slow"...
  3. I agree - people need to look at actions rather than take a four word quote as a sign that he doesn't care... John, since you're a little closer to the team than all of the Internet GMs, just curious if you've heard anything about some strife in the locker room? Have the coaches lost the team? Is Mario a distraction to other players? Is it scheme? Just seems like we have too much talent on the D to have two of the worst games EVER! I mean, suddenly we're sitting here calling Dareus a bust, saying that Kyle Williams is toast this year, that our young corners are terrible and our LB's the worst in the league. I don't understand how we can have (at least from my perspective) added talent to the D and still be this bad! Event the national reporters at training camp we're talking about how good we looked - what the heck happened!? I might have to go back to blaming the Flutie Curse for our woes...
  4. Freddy seems less than thrilled, per Twitter "WTF??? Released Mooreman??? For What??"
  5. BOOM - this is the truth of the play. That was not a simultaneous catch, therefore the tie shouldn't have gone to the O (if that's even what happened). You knew it was screwed when one guy waived like a touchback and the other called a TD. Joke. How about we take the Tuck Rule and replace the T with an F? Seems about right...
  6. 1. Bills in Super Bowl 2. Bills in Post Season 3. Bills regular season 4. Everything else
  7. Welcome to 2012 everyone... And lest you think it's just the D&C, it's all Gannett owned papers: http://www.ibj.com/gannett-to-implement-online-pay-wall/PARAMS/article/32827
  8. Mine worked Sunday - I won't quite say "fine" since there were lots of freezes, but it worked.
  9. Naaman is like TBD's version of Bill Brasky... "Naaman Roosevelt had sex with my girlfriend and it was the most beautiful thing I ever saw!"
  10. It's a giant conspiracy (just like everything surrounding the Bills). The one year extension is agreed to: http://pro32.ap.org/content/bills-county-agree-1-year-lease-extension And here's the lease article: http://www.buffalonews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20120912/CITYANDREGION/120919747/1109 Just look at it this way, it's a really complex deal that is going to take some time to complete. No need to freak out, yet...
  11. I didn't see a thread on this, but Joe Buscaglia did a nice little breakdown of each player on both lines. Apparently it's going to be a weekly feature and right now he's working on the LB, TE and RB's. http://wgr550.com/Buscaglia-Upon-Further-Review-Bills-OL-DL/14203249 At any rate, bummer (though not a shocker) to see that Mario grades out as the worst line player. Thoughts?
  12. Boom - this! They even mentioned this about 50 times during the pre-game broadcast. They can't play the game on the app, but they can play it on the website. Last week something was clearly wrong with their feed after the game. The post-game show wasn't on the web, or the App, but it was playing on WGRs sister station in Rochester...
  13. I won't get into the political irony of Tooth's post, but I will weigh into the political quagmire of the Buffalo Chicken Wings... I'm definitely NOT a fan of Duff's wings, tried them for the first time last year and didn't like 'em, too big and saucy for my tastes. That said, I'm not sure where the best are but I've read about Bar Bill quite a few times, might have to check it. Other spots on the Buffalo culinary tour, I'd recommend: - Charlie The Butcher's - Ted's Hot Dogs - Mighty Taco - DiBella subs - Jim's Steakout - Schwabl's (Beef on Weck) - Eckl's (more Beef on Weck) There is so much good, local "fast food" in Buffalo it's unreal. Of course if your full, happy and bored, you can always head to the RV lot on Saturday, wander around, make new friends, drink strangers beers. Saturday is a perfect day to hit the Bills store too, last year we were in there and Andre Reed walked in!
  14. Interesting. Makes me wonder if the receiver went where he should have - in Fitz's press conference, he said he read zone coverage and reporters tried to get him to say Nelson ran the wrong route. Fitz said "David had a read on the route. My job is to get him the ball. He ran in the zone and I have to get him the ball." While Fitz either needs to start throwing the ball to OUR guys (or not throwing it all), we also need our WR's to read things properly to get to the open spot... And I agree with you GG - Rex had this gameplan figured out before Chan did.
  15. Good post as always Bill. I'm not ready to bench Fitz in game one of the season - gotta give him some chance to fight through an awful game, but the leash should be short. Too bad we don't have a legit backup...
  16. Solid post. I always look back to the 2003 season when we opened crushing the Pats 31 - 0, but in the last game of the season we got crushed by them 31 - 0. We ain't the Pats, but it just goes to show that over the course of a season anything can happen. We'll know more next week...
  17. Pretty amazing because I'm sure over the years there have been plenty of Steelers FANS that have missed the birth of their kids because of a Steelers game!
  18. Even better, on Murph's show he said that he also has a cameo on The League - love that show!
