  1. Fwiw, from Brent Axe's twitter: "Bill Parcells among those who vouched for Doug Marrone to interview for Bills, Browns job" "Marrone also received endorsements from Saints GM Mickey Loomis and HC Sean Payton. Marrone was the OC in New Orleans from 2006-08." Not sure that makes him a good candidate, but perhaps it's not Myan doomsday either...
  2. Did he though? His quote was confusing: "as an example of one rumor/speculation that can be crossed off the list: i understand that a while back that the proposal for a stadium in Niagara Falls has long been off the table." - JW (the rational JW) To me that reads as the proposal for a stadium in NF is (potentially) still ON the table...
  3. Impeccable timing! I'll do some more digging in the am too...
  4. A good one from the Google: http://sites.jcu.edu/magazine/2010/12/21/a-skill-for-finding-talent/ “A player represents a multimillion-dollar investment for the team,” Caldwell says. “The two keys I look for are his passion and perseverance. Then I ask myself, ‘Is this a guy I’d like to play with?’ and ‘Would I want to be his teammate?’” The biggest turn-offs are a lack of work ethic and selfishness, Caldwell says, adding that he doesn’t like to see players who put personal goals above team goals. Edit - Ha, just saw your other post, glad we're on the same page NS
  5. For real... Also, though none of ours made it there are those that are giving some of our players props: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000117372/article/2013-pro-bowls-big-snubs-richard-sherman-robbed
  6. Ironic that the Steelers had to get rid of Ariens because he was too close with Big Ben and holding the offense back...
  7. John Gruden, Tony Dungey, Bill Cower and Russ Brandon were seen fleeing Chippewa St in a Ford Tempo! Take it FWIW
  8. The least the Bills could do is bring people Salvatore's, for all the tickets that Russel has bought over the years! I think I remember M80 posting about Tempo in the past. Only question is timeline - did Brandon skip the Miami game? Gruden would be a festivus miracle (which I thought we already got with the lease deal)...
  9. What is your statement or belief based on? It's clear that NFL ticket sales are down and it's a fact that Buffalo has some of the least expensive tickets in the league (which probably means that their luxury boxes, of which they don't have as many as other teams, also sell for less). Even if we sold the naming rights, who is going to pay the price and what are we going to get - $10MM over 5 years? That's nowhere close to the $78MM the Bills got for the Toronto series... Here are the top 20 stadium naming rights deals as of Sept, 2011: http://www.sportsbusinessdaily.com/Journal/Issues/2011/09/19/In-Depth/Naming-rights-deals.aspx Please, let us know your revenue model beyond naming rights and "anything else"... The Toronto game puts money in the teams pockets and (theoretically) exposes Toronto fans and more importantly, businesses, to the NFL and to Buffalo Bills football. Perhaps in some future world, the team is moved to Niagara Falls, a little closer to Toronto and some of those Toronto companies will drop coin on suites. I also don't see anyone with the Bills saying that Toronto is the "cure all". It's part of a strategy to regionalize the team, just like having Training Camp in Rochester and marketing to towns in the Southern Tier are... I think the Toronto game sucks too, but I'm willing to tolerate it if it keeps the Bills in Buffalo! I actually think the Bills do a good job in the marketing department - training camp is a fan favorite, they've been on point with digital trends (messageboards, App, having Chris Brown do a blog and video segments, player created content, etc.) and they do a good job reaching out to fans (I keep getting calls to buy tickets for games, despite living in Vermont). If we had a winning team, it would definitely help sell tickets, but even when winning those cold-ass December games are tough on fans. Where they could really use some help is in the merch department - not sure who their designers are, but the 80's and 90's called, they want some modern looking gear!
  10. I thought this line in the Falls Reporter article was telling: "The sources say the lease will be in the 8-to-10 year range that would give all parties time to evaluate the long-term viability of the aging stadium which will need more than $200 million in renovations just to stay viable in the short term." I wonder if both sides have agreed that the money is just for "short term renovations" and what the lease expectations are for the $200MM? Will the Bills be tied to OP for 10 years or will there be a deal where they have to stay in OP for 3 - 5 years, but in the Buffalo area for 10? Obviously there will be a new owner at SOME point over the next few years, giving the Bills an out from OP, but still tying them to Buffalo for 10 years gives the new ownership group time to figure out a new stadium. So we have 10 years Buffalo, someone *please* get to work on the next Google - get rich, buy the team, build a new stadium, and field a winner!
  11. Also, for the record, I'm a sports marketing guy that loves the Bills and has helped broker sponsorship deals, market major TV sports properties and worked with professional athletes - where to do I sign up to be Russ' replacement? Also, will you guys turn on me if the Bills continue to lose and / or I don't do exactly what you want?
  12. Is it though? http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052702303561504577495083707417526.html
  13. Multi-year deal back in the works (and the one year patch deal is off the table): http://blogs.buffalonews.com/press-coverage/2012/12/poloncarz-one-year-bills-lease-off-table-multiyear-deal-in-works.html
  14. Even Miami's rappers are breaking our balls now... Guess we can only hope for Stevie and crew to retort. The only good thing about this video is that at least *someone* remembers the Bills / Phins rivalry!
  15. That final game in the Ralph is going to be a reaaal barn-burner! It's a race to the bottom...
  16. I look at it this way - would you rather send a second (and late rounder if necessary) to Washington for Cousins (if they'll take that), or do you take the second and package it with another pick to move back up into the first round to draft one of this years college prospects? No one is this years QB class is a cant-miss guy and Cousins does have NFL experience and is looking solid in the face of pressure today... Interesting question for sure.
  17. Another "not winded" article from Joe B: http://wgr550.com/tw...-drive/14996948 Glad to see Chan FINALLY saying: "We’re going to get the opportunity here in the next few weeks for him to get a lot that we won’t have what I term two great backs. I think Tashard’s a very good back but to me he’s not in Fred’s category so there won’t be a lot of sharing of duties. C.J. will have to take a big part of the load now.” At least we're going to get to see with CJ can do carrying the load. If he comes out hitting home runs in the last three games Chan is going to look like a fool for not using him all season - let's just hope it's the start of a stellar career for CJ and maybe the undoing of Chan... Though with our luck CJ will go off, we'll finish 8-8, this doomsday scenario Buscaglia describes will take place and we'll actually make the playoffs and Chan will get another year... http://wgr550.com/pa...tentId=11987028
  18. I've had no problems on my iPhone, iPad and PS3. Course that doesn't really help the OP Gotta say, the Ticket online is one of the best purchases ever (aside from the occasional lag)! I've watched games in hotels in San Fran, Hawaii and today I'll be posted up in the United lounge in Chicago. It's so awesome not having to run and find a bar playing the game - just find some WiFi and you're good to go! And plenzmd1, I haven't been able to get AirPlay to work either. That's why I run off Playstation at home. Maybe next year...
  19. They're calling "Up, A button", just call the same play!!
  20. Garbage time stats / Ralph and Jay are cheap! (let's hope we see that running stat continue to go up over the last few games)
  21. Didnt the Bills do that with Flutie and RJ? SF's plan will work great - if they win. If they lose, people will be calling for Harbaugh's hide!
  22. But we all know it's about content for those TVs these days - if Russel won't step up we had better start a TBD ticket fundraiser...
  23. lol - I like that you're not reaching with a higher pick. Also, TBD would have melted down if the Bills took JJ Watt at 3...
