  1. Fitz was playing well and in the final year of his deal. Sanchez was playing well BUT he still had two years on his deal. The Bills were scared they would wind up with no QB, the Jets were scared Sanchez was upset over the Manning rumors and the Tebow deal. Gotta go with Sanchez / Jets...
  2. What!? First you give opium to kids, now you defend that murder Ray Lewis!?! Sadly, no card for me, not sure they give 'em out to those on business trips (though I live in VT and my business *is* skateboarding, so I should be grandfathered in....). Heard the ad for the Cannabis Cup though, seems like it would be a fun little Saturday! And, FWIW, two Representatives - Polis (D - CO) and Blumenauer (D - OR) have introduced a federal bill to De-Federalize Marijuana Prohibition. http://polis.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=318723 Their "Path Forward" doc has a lot of interesting facts and info on the subject for those that would like to read a little more: http://blumenauer.house.gov/images/stories/2013/The_Path_Forward_Rethinking_Federal_Marijuana_Policy.pdf
  3. Did I mention I'm in LA for the week. And in pain? Interesting thread for sure...
  4. This is the first year in about 4 years that I'm not taking Super Lazy Monday off. Hosting that big party on Sunday is tiring... My two cents - play the game on Saturday!
  5. Just saw this one on NFLN - not sure what to make of it: http://nfl.si.com/2013/01/29/ray-lewis-ravens-deny-deer-antler-spray-report/?sct=uk_t2_a3 He was allegedly using deer antler spray from a company called S.W.A.T.S.? Strange. Though seems like deers antler spray would be easy to get and abundant in WNY! One thing is for sure Mitch Ross (SWATS owner) is an interesting character peddling some out-there stuff. Here's a 2011 article on Ross and his magic "chips" (with some Ray Lewis mentions) http://www.thepostgame.com/features/201104/tpg-exclusive-auburn-tied-controversial-supplement-company I think *I* need these things!
  6. Nassib is going to be on Murph's show on GR55 shortly tonight, fwiw.
  7. From Alex Marvez's Twitter "Terrell Suggs just ran into locker room screaming, "Tell (the Patriots) have fun at the Pro Bowl. Arrogant f******."" Buy that man a beer!
  8. Can't wait to listen PTR... Didn't see a link to the video on BB.com: http://www.buffalobills.com/media-center/videos/ It's neat to think that they're going to do some work to the stadium - modernize the Old Ralph a bit!
  9. Also, everyone does know that these are just renderings, right? Don't take them for gospel, they're just how things are supposed to / could eventually look...
  10. Two weeks ago Sullivan was thrilled with the Marrone hire, yesterday he was dismayed we didn't interview Trestman (who may be a good coach, but there was probably a reason he lingered in the CFL for so long). As for the youth on Marrone's staff, not sure if anyone saw "Cleveland '95" on NFLN, but one of the Belichick did was brought in a staff of young, hungry guys, many of whom had little experience. Now many of those guys are Head Coaches or GMs. As has been said, let's at least see what this staff does before we declare them a failure...
  11. fwiw, The Brady 6 feature is on NFLN right now. I'm sure there's a re-air you can DVR, super interesting...
  12. Ha Missed the HI meeting part - though Swarbrick from ND is sort of explaining it. Guess we'll know more tomorrow when he speaks and takes questions. Strange, strange, strange story no matter how this turns out!
  13. or E) He was the victim of a hoax. Couldn't that also be possibility? Not sure why everyone finds the online relationship so hard to believe. And the kid doesn't need to be *stupid* to believe it was real, just naive... Anyone watching the ND Press Conference?
  14. I guess I would understand that if he were running the football side of things, but he's not, he's running overall franchise. The CEO of Pepsi doesn't need to know how to make the product, or have worked at a bottler, but they do need to understand how the entire organization runs to be a successful leader. Brandon has deep roots in sports franchise operations - Red Wings, Marlins (during the World Series years) and he joined the Bills in 1997. Hard to say that he knows *nothing* about football after a 16 year NFL career! I'm pretty sure you learn a thing or two and make a connection or three after that long...
  15. I'm with ya - here's a guy that grew up near Syracuse, went to school in Rochester and has worked at several sports franchises (including the Rochester Red Wings), is respected throughout the sports world and that now has a dream job with the Bills. Seems like JUST the guy you want in charge...
  16. If nothing else it should be fun to see how he does in the NFL - can't wait to see if he revolutionizes the game, or crashes and burns!
  17. Bio: http://suathletics.com/coaches.aspx?rc=625&path=football Another ex-NFl player on staff, gotta like it...
  18. For the record I wasn't saying that the Bills FO should be absolved for not drafting Wilson, but the fact that every other team passed on him at least twice should say something about the perceived risk of Wilson by *every* team in the NFL. In hindsight it's easy to say "the Bills should have drafted him", but at the time there were clearly some concerns with the guys height and playing style. So, IMO, saying "31 other teams passed" isn't an excuse for the Bills passing on Wilson, but it does at least provides some context on the desirability of Wilson as a QB. If every GM thought he could take their team to the Playoffs and maybe a Super Bowl someone would have jumped on him!
  19. FWIW, since everyone loves to throw the Bills under the bus for not drafting Wilson, last week on Sirius John Madden said that he too would have passed on Wilson. Said he loved the kid's heart, etc., but Madden, looking at him, said he was too short. John isn't drafting any QB under 6'2". I still would loved to have seen him in a Bills uni, but drafting him wasn't a slam-dunk (obviously he was drafted in the third round, so we weren't the only ones with concerns).
  20. He's live on GR55 right now on John Murphy's show - good stuff!
