  1. Bourdain was a huge inspiration in my life, I'm shocked today... I grew up in a restaurant family / family restaurant and though Kitchen Confidential came out after it closed, in Bourdain I immediately saw my grandfather Anthony. It reminded me of all of those great days and nights spent in the kitchen, sometimes making magic, sometimes being miserable. But always living that Cook's Life. Then later, as I started really traveling for work, his TV shows inspired me always try the local joint, to appreciate the culture, to eat something weird that I never have before. To explore the world through food. I've been to so many joints simply because he went and said they were amazing. I still have a list on my phone of restaurants to hit... Big picture though, Bourdain was a reminder to me that you CAN make it, dreams can come true. To make it from a heroin addicted line cook, to world traveler and voice of a generation of "foodies" was an amazing climb. As others have said, it just reminds you that you never know what another person is living through, that even while life seems amazing for someone it might not be, and that mental health is something we all need to pay a lot more attention to. RIP Anthony, you'll be missed.
  2. We got our GB tickets through NFL TicketExchange. Not cheap (but are there cheap tickets for Green Bay?), but going through Ticketmaster you KNOW they're legit and you get them digitally delivered right away...
  3. Tyrod and Shady were together last night at the Cavs game - we should definitely overanalyze that for another 10 - 12 pages...
  4. Tyrod Taylor: I still feel that I’d done more than enough to stay Buffalo Bills: We don't /thread
  5. I’ve been getting more involved in esports though work - the money some of the teams make it unreal. Major tournaments have millions of dollars in prize money up for grabs. There are millions of hours streamed on Twitch. The teams are all owned by big media companies and sports teams. It’s surprisingly organized. It’s really pretty crazy. I’m a causal gamer (and, old), so the whole phenomenon seems crazy to me. Still, fun to learn about and be involved with...
  6. Hard to tell what to make of tweets like that - you read it and think "maybe 4 passes in the dirt, a bad pick and 3 good passes". Then you watch the video above and see like 20 completed pass drills, read about the TD drive, see the drops and you really have to wonder what guys are reporting on. At least mention the fact that he's hitting guys all day in drills (yes, in shorts, against air, etc.)...
  7. ^ So are we DOOOOOMED or Not Doomed!? Someone please spoon feed me an opinion!! Also, FWIW Daboll is going to be on WGR shortly...
  8. Not really sure that Rosen's personality would have fit in Buffalo, to be honest - see Marshawn Lynch. And, bad news, I'm sure the Allen pick was about more than just "pure ability" - qualities like leadership, team culture fit, work ethic and I'm sure even "Buffaloness" played into the decision. Being an NFL QB is about a lot more than just "pure ability"...
  9. TC, this is TBD - they guy hasn’t been an All-Pro yet and had to have surgery, time to send him to the glue factory!
  10. I wouldn't go that far - have you ever looked under the upper deck? It's all rusting and cracking, definitely needs some love. That said, this can only mean #HammersLotForEver !!
  11. Our were in the $300 range, though that was to get 7 together (which we did). Interestingly the "in-laws" have gone the last couple years and said that tickets for the Pats game they went to were way more pricey. All that's left is to figure out the housing situation. Not sure on waiting, AirBnB says reservations are up 1000%+ for that time frame (of course, what else are they going to say?). Larger houses near the stadium are at least $1k right now, but for 7 of us, that's comparable to multiple hotel rooms - which, btw, are booking up too...
  12. The Pegula's don't strike me as the types that want a bunch of fans running around in "Mafia" hats. Especially when they're breaking tables, lighting themselves on fire and breaking bones. The real question should be who at New Era is designing such ugly-ass hats? Those 3D logos and letters gots to go...
  13. But why would he be WORSE after having surgery on a knee that was clearly causing him issues last year (the guy could barely run)? With some surgical clean-up and rehab, he could actually be much better than last year. I was a good snowboarder. I broke my ankle. I became a bad snowboarder. I got surgery and rehabbed. Now I’m a good snowboarder again. Praise Jebus! As for the WR, you need to consider the entire picture of “pass catchers” especially when Shady, Clay and O’Leary were in the top four for the Bills! Regardless, we’ll see how it plays out! Give me the Kool Aid so I can Homer like Simpson!
  14. Yeah, but it’s more fun to predict failure so one can “be right” than to root for success...
  15. This was just fantastic - though now that Fitz roasted Fred and Murph, Fitz these guys are never going to sign with the Bills again. What a disaster! ?
  16. Boom - flight booked, car rented, hotel (Fri) in Milwaukee booked. Now all we need is a VRBO / Air BnB and tickets and we're REALLY in! Looking forward to seeing the Bills brethren at the game. I assume Kenny, Captain, etc. will be there? Anyone know for sure? Any Bills tailgates?
  17. Did a little research today - hotels are getting booked up, though from what I hear rooms often open since people that can’t make it cancel last minute (though, is one really waiting till last minute?). Tickets are in the $250 - $300 range... Might be coming out w the in-laws (few Packer fans in the fam) we’re up to a group of about 8!
  18. Good to hear the energy that Daboll is bringing - just a little different than ‘ol Rick ?
  19. But he's not the QB coach - ONLY THE QB COACH WILL BE COACHING ALLEN! Doomed.
