Edit: NFL removes Bass's kick from All-22 video
GG replied to Da webster guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If the footage of this play was simply missing from All-22, then you could simply attribute it to an error. There have been cases when individual plays don't show up in All-22. But somebody in the NFL actually inserted the footage of another kick in the place of the first FG attempt. That takes additional effort not just to omit the play in question, but search for another kick and put it there. That is definitely not normal, and why people should be rightly upset at NFL's handling of this. -

Last I checked TX was doing ok and far better than CA.

If you want to get granular, compare NYC to 3 NJ counties. The numbers will be very similar and probably still worse in NJ. The point being that population density wasn't as big of a factor as you think.

Absolutely. Until the Jets scored the garbage TD, the game was an under by 3 points! -
NY has 1.7k deaths/million, while NJ has 1.8k deaths/million. The commuting NJ counties are nowhere near as dense as NYC. The most densely populated neighborhoods in NYC weren't the hardest hit, either. Maybe there were other contributing factors to the carnage? But we've discussed this before.

Edit: NFL removes Bass's kick from All-22 video
GG replied to Da webster guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Time on the replay combined with the straight view of the kick and where and when it hits the netting. It would be almost physically impossible for the kick to have been missed considering where and when it hit the netting. Very similar to the goal the Sabres were awarded a few years ago, despite the refs not seeing the puck. There was no other possibility but for the puck to be lodged in the goalie equipment inside the goal line. -

I'd love to, but somehow the NFL decided to scrub the kick from All-22. Do you find that odd? BTW, have you ever tried to get to an answer by triangulating different points? Because if you do that to the slow motion replay, it surely looks like the kick was good. -

Funny how the images show NYC food businesses that are closing for good, but It's Trump who's to blame. I wonder if there are 2 bigger idiots who are legally in charge of the city?

Why did NJ have worse stats than NYC?

Virus doesn't care about the color of the states. But it does care about horrific public health policies that allowed it to spread faster among the most vulnerable population. Newsflash, CA & WA were the first to get hit by the virus, and WA knew very well that nursing homes needed to be isolated and protected. No other place had a directive to send sick patients into the ideal breeding grounds that were woefully unprepared to take in the patients. NYS literally repeated the early mistakes that Lombardy made, despite a month's worth of evidence of what NOT to do. That wasn't on the President.

Another Bolton narrative blown up.

Trump Wants To Regulate Google
GG replied to Trump_is_Mentally_fit's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I haven't seen too many tangible proposals on possible regulations from the peanut gallery here. Just a concern that they're too big and wield undue influence due to defacto monopoly of information dissemination. The government action seems to go down the antitrust angle, so you should be happy about that. And that should force the rewrite of the laws. -

You're conflating topics. Search isn't publishing, but using search algorithms to steer the search results one way or another is abusing your position. The Internet giants are doing everything they can to bring back the 1870's common carrier railroad regulations. Sad. -

Two unrelated things can be true at the same time. People migrating to Parler has nothing to do with the dominant platforms abusing a law. -

They absolutely curate content that goes beyond the letter of the law in Section 230. -

CBS truly blew it by missing the Trump support among the Hispanic Nazis. -

Except that this is specifically the point of the argument. All of these actions are meant to force the rewrite of Article 230 of the CDA. The large Internet platforms are exploiting the ambiguous wording of the law, which was written before they were what they are now. They are neither an ISP nor a true publisher, and are trying to apply the law to themselves that they can be both depending on the best interpretation for them. -

It's fair to consider whether an indoor campaign event directly contributed to a spike in cases. It's also fair to examine the data and come to the conclusion that the rally was NOT a superspreader event. I'm talking about the very young, who are usually highly susceptible to the ordinary flu, but somehow are immune from the lethal effects of a far more deadly virus. Seems very odd and extraordinary to me.
