  1. Doesn't that look worse for a franchise to lie about a two time SB winning coach, who then refused to shake the owner's hand? I'd say that sends a worse image than a gm who doesn't want to talk to the local press
  2. Just like with TBN, what are you getting at with the line of questioning? That Whaley wasn't forthright in his answers about Rex? So what? What's the end game, that Whaley should also walk the plank because he wants to distance himself from Rex? Were the Giants a dysfunctional mess when they gave a total lie about Coughlin's retirement?
  3. Why? So they can enjoy a hissy fit? If TBN sages claim to represent the fans, then the line of questioning was nowhere near what the fans wanted to hear. Believe it or not, fans aren't as interested in the OBD palace intrigue as they are in things going forward, like the coaching search, pending free agency and the draft How much time was spent asking those questions vs haranguing Whaley about his role in Rex's firing?
  4. I'm not sure I understand the take. The decision to sit TT was made by Whaley & Pegula, and that's apparently what led Rex to have a sidebar with Pegula that got him fired. Then Whaley told Lynn that he's the coach and EJ is the starter. I don't see how that doesn't mesh with what both guys said in their press conferences.
  5. He's a 4 game rental this year. He's a UFA in March and suspension won't hit until next season.
  6. Floyd would have been a wasted pickup for almost every team but Pats*
  7. Just speculating about Rex's motivation to have the private chat about his status? Why would both mutually decide he shouldn't coach on Sunday? And Whaley wasn't lying. He didn't know that Rex was fired until Pegula told him and he didn't want to get into details of what his views were of Rex's coaching acumen.
  8. Why haven't they scheduled a press conference and take questions?
  9. In a real football world, coaches hold their team's interests ahead of their son's bowl games
  10. As a former Rex supporter, his demise has certainly been disappointing, but utterly predictable. I was happy with the hire, but started cringing when he gave the dog biscuit to Pegula and proclaimed that Pegula is a great man because he had the guts to hire Rex. It went nowhere but downhill from there.
  11. So he's a scorned teenager? Who says that the owners have to face the media? Did Kroencke stand at the podium when he fired Fisher and answer questions? No. This is more of TBN's sour grapes that PSE always goes to national outlets for breaking news. What the old codgers at TBN forgot is that maintaining good relationships in reporting is part of the job.
  12. Why would he have to make the comments under duress? Please point me to an organization where a manager inserts his personal views that are counter to the company line. It's very plausible that Whaley wasn't all in on the Rex hire. But nobody should expect him to say that publicly, then or now. As for Hue Jackson, the jury is still out.
  13. I thought it was obvious, but why get in the way of TBN crying session? Why does nobody cate that the Clemson game was more important to Rex?
  14. Because jw said he tweeted Pegula and Pegula called him back.
  15. Anyone who needs to know the truth about the state of journalism and the quality of the press these days, need to read no more than this So it's not about covering the team, or getting the right answers from the GM. It's all a B word session in how the owners don't like them. Really, really really don't like them. What a bunch of rank amateurs. No wonder Timmah couldn't take the heat of a simple little Internet forum.
  16. Or, Pegula had decided to fire Rex and was waiting until the end of the season to do so, ideally after they sat down and gone over what went wrong during the year. But Rex wanted to have a side conversation about his status with Pegula after the Monday briefing. Because. you know, Clemson has a big game on Saturday and the Bills have a small game on Sunday. I'm guessing it was at that moment Terry decided that he probably shouldn't wait and they agreed to part ways. After that call, Pegula told Whaley that Rex is gone.
  17. It's clear that Whaley hates to do press conferences and always struggles to put together sentences that properly convey what he's trying to say. It's usually worse when he doesn't want to fully answer the questions the press are throwing at him. Today is the first time I heard someone mention that he overcame a speech impediment. If he did, it's doubly priceless that certain members of the local press are gloating that that they got the best of a stammering guy. Good for them. They showed us.
  18. What's funny in the press' stampede to catch Whaley in a fib, they're totally missing the confirmation that Rex wanted out early so that he could watch Clemson-OSU with no pressure. All In, for sure!!! But of course it's more interesting to report on what he said, she said. What a bunch of drama queens.
  19. Jim Tomsula says hi
  20. Didn't listen to the PC, but for those who did, what was the proportion of question regarding how Rex was fired vs new coaching search and what's DW's views on what went wrong in 2016 and how he plans to fix that?
  21. Are you saying that the Bills were deliberately tanking after the Raiders game? Was Rex in on the plan?
  22. Of course he can still play. Doesn't mean that he should considering how the last two seasons ended for him.
  23. In my world, there's a big difference between success based on inbound inquiries and outbound inquiries. Did the Bills pound on the Colts door for Hughes, or were the Colts desperate to unload Hughes? How many backup RBs with a spotty track record get traded for 4th round picks? A big knock against Whaley is not that he's willing to take risks to improve the team, it's that he's too loose with giving up draft picks to get the players he's enamored with, knowing that the draft is mostly a crapshoot. And for the QB search, how many QBs drafted by NE have started in the NFL, after Brady was in place compared to Bills' draftees? How many QB prospects were passed over because EJ just needed more time.
  24. Again, would Bills sign Taylor ahead of Denver if not for Rex?
  25. And it's been repeated ad nauseam, his track record of finding that qb is lacking.
