  1. Where in the world am I defending the quitter?
  2. That's not really what happened, but you can believe that. I think it's obvious that despite what the Pegulas and Whaley have said in the last week, there's far more intrigue inside OBD to think that this is a simple coaching search, where Whaley is in charge and that Pegulas will rubber stamp the final guy. As I've said, they've been far more involved in the HC hiring process from the start, and these little rumors that are flying around don't suggest that the process is going smoothly.
  3. Which history of the Sabres is that? If anything, Pegulas are not afraid to quickly part ways with people they don't believe are furthering their franchise or the OneBuffalo image, despite what the contract says, when that contract was signed, or how long is left on that contract.
  4. Because that's what a few reports are insinuating.
  5. So the training wheels are still on Whaley's bike?
  6. Who was in the passenger seat?
  7. Of course not, because he's always on vacation when big news breaks.
  8. Guy can't stay healthy
  9. Is Richard the last candidate to interview? Has Reich been confirmed?
  10. Hopefully they did a bit of introspection over the last two weeks and evaluate what their subordinates have been telling them over tow years vs what's transpired and use that to form decisions going forward. If the team started thinking about moving on from TT since October, what's the alternative being proposed? Is it reasonable to field a winning team? What was he hearing from the team regarding the defensive scheme and the players not buying into it? Does a player suggesting that the Rob Ryan hire Madge things worse jibe with what he understood was going on? Was the decision to start EJ in the finale an evaluation of him as a starter or a back up in the league? A lot of things happened since the Oakland game that should give them clarity, if they choose to see it?
  11. He's right. They don't have a clear franchise QB
  12. And yet the Browns have been in the playoffs in last 17 years. Keep swinging.
  13. I don't need any better insult than a replay of your posting history over the playoff drought.
  14. But that's the whole point. There are no high profile coaches that are available this year, and Bills are interviewing the available field. It's not like Buddy telling the world that his phone is ringing off the hook, despite some high profile coaches turning Bills down, and then out of the blue they spring Chan Gailey on the public.
  15. Typical response expected from a 10-year old. I'm guessing there were no other QBs to look at other than Brady or Rodgers. Oh woe for Whaley.
  16. Boller started 17 games before he lost his starting job to Anthony Wright. The other starts were due to injuries to the starter.
  17. By competing against Kevin Kolb, Jef Tuel, Thad Lewis, Jordan Palmer, Matt Leinart? The only time Whaley tried to bring in legit QB competition was when he was forced to do so. Maybe one of these days you may admit that Bills haven't been a well run franchise for a long long time.
  18. I'm a bit biased but I like what I've seen out of Cardale much more than Cook. And wasn't Cook projected as a 1st rounder after his junior yr?
  19. And all of a sudden, Raiders OL isn't so great and DelRio is a so so coach. What happened?
  20. BTW exactly who are the star candidates that are in the market this year and that the other teams are interviewing? If memory serves, the last two available big name coaches were Chip Kelly and Rex Ryan.
  21. And quickly realized that he sucked and didn't try to prop him up for 4 years.
  22. Is this a Dark State plant? Detained in Turkey
  23. I'll just repost As I said before, of course Pegulas will have the final signoff. That's never been in question. But in a press conference where Whaley stonewalled most questions, he went out of the way to explain that the previous hires were a committee process, but this one would be run by him & Monos. Which is how most job openings are filled - candidates meet with the recruiting front line and at the end they have a final sit down with the senior folks for the ultimate approval. Yet, after all the talk, the first interview with McDermott is at the Pegula's house. To me, the message is that maybe they're still reluctant to take Whaley's training wheels off.
  24. As usual, we'll wait a year to see your takes to be proven wrong. Again.
  25. While standing over his shoulder?
