  1. Edwards who? What the heck are you talking about?
  2. It seems like every QB that is ever mentioned on this board always gets trashed. Its so funny to me how Ryan Fitzpatrick IS EVEN IN THE SAME DISCUSSION as players like Vince Young, Carson Palmer, and Donovan McNabb. The guy has a big heart, and plays really tough, but guys get real. He is not a world class QB. Carson Palmer would start on about 22 teams in the NFL. Ryan Fitzpatrick has never had a starting gig besides this year. This fantastic year where he led us to our best draft pick in like 20 years. There is a fine line between backing your player, and stupidity. Also, let me add one more comment. Marvin Lewis is the problem in Cincinnati, NOT Carson Palmer
  3. That Pats game is sooo tough man. May have to stay away from that. I think they will cover, but too many points to take the chance. Something stupid can always happen. For instance it could be a 20 point blowout, and the packers score a late meaningless TD to cover. I tend to stay away from those monster spreads, but I too am still undecided.
  4. LOL WOW! A 6 team parlay? I hope its not for too much money because that is a tall order. Well regardless I hope it works out for you. Anytime, you want any of my advice or wanted to just get an opinion send me a PM, and I'll do the same to see if you have any ideas for the weekend. I always like to see if people agree with my picks. Gives me more confidence for the upcoming weekend. I feel the Falcons are the game of the week. I just cant see how Seattle is going to do ANYTHING on them. Also, I dont know where the Giants get off being favored in that game either. The Eagles are pretty well the hottest team in football right now, and the Giants have NOT been overly consistent. Also, Im very interested to see what the Pats spread comes out at. Have you seen any numbers out on the internet??
  5. Well luckily I dont get my self worth from your opinion, but here are my picks for this week. Maybe I will win, and maybe I wont, but my sportsbetting.com account says that I probably will. Here are the bets I will be placing this weekend TEXANS +1 COLTS TO JUST WIN WITH THE MONEY LINE BENGALS -1 EAGLES +3 FALCONS -7 PATRIOTS IF THE SPREAD IS PRETTY MUCH ANYTHING BELOW 9 WHEN IT COMES OUT
  6. I would like to consider myself a betting man, and I generally am 5 or 6 out of 7 on every NFL Sunday (of course picking the games I like the best). I must state that ever saying the Bills at 3-10 are a gimme would be as ridiculous as taking Matt Flynn to outplay Tom Brady this Sunday night. Its just not going to happen. The Fins have a pretty tough defense, not to mention a top 2 or 3 offensive line in football. Couple that with our pass rush, and I really see no way for us to win this game. Henne is a complete NOTHING in this league, however that line can make any QB look like a star. I'll be praying for a win this Sunday, but in my opinion we are EXTREMELY LUCKY if the Dolphins don't cover this spread. Although, we did not look great vs Cleveland, we pulled out a tough game in real cold weather. The weather will not be an issue this week in Miami. I look for the Bills to get one lucky sack this week, and Cameron Wake alone to have 3 of them. Dont forget we were getting blown out by a rough Vikings team two weeks ago with their backup QB in the whole game. STAY AWAY FROM THIS GAME unless you take the over/under! If you have to bet, I say take the Falcons as the easiest game of the week, or the Pats depending on what their spread comes out at. I don't think its being released yet due to the status of Aaron Rogers
  7. Thanks for the kind words Gumby! Another thing I dont understand, is why people on this board are acting like we have no chance to draft Andrew Luck?? I'm no math teacher, but don't we have the second worst record in football? The Bengals are close and WONT draft Luck, and the Panthers are the team ahead of us and they MAY or MAY NOT draft him depending on how they feel about Clausen. Not sure why Andrew Luck is so far out of reach. Lastly, I am sure I will take heat for this but lets PLEASE DROP ALL OF THE PEYTON MANNING COMPARISONS! The man has a Super Bowl ring, wins his first 10 games of the season almost every year, is a sure fire hall of famer, and will hold every QB record EVER when he is finished. Lets please give it a rest already. It is the most ignorant discussion ever. Peyton does not even belong in a conversation with Jim Kelly LET ALONE Ryan Fitzpatrick.
  8. I agree Fitz is not the guy, but it certainly wasn't from today's performance. Fitz is playing at a "very good" level this season with a real bad team. The man has had many chances to start in the league, and has never really kept a starting job. There is a reason for that. He is a very "decent" quarterback. Teams that want to win need a FRANCHISE QB. The sooner we finally draft this guy, the sooner we can go through the growing pains, and build the team around him. It seems as though the Bills are always trying to STEAL that QB. Lets get Trent in the 3rd round, or JP after all the other good first round QBs are taken, waste a draft pick on Levi Brown in the 7th, try and get Brian Brohm in here maybe he will shock us. BITE THE BULLET AND DRAFT THE GUY THAT CAN LEAD THE FRANCHISE!! Does a top 3 pick guarantee us a GREAT QB?? No it doesnt. Does it make our odds a hundred times better?? YOU BET! Draft the guy, develop him, and try moving on. The Lions didnt have a great oline, the Rams didnt have a great oline, but amazingly they still draft the franchise QB when given the opportunity. That is how franchises turn around, and not by seeing who you can steal in the 5th round. Give me a break already.
  9. Yes Dan! You got me! I should read more, and post less LOL. Ive had about 40 posts in 6 years. All I do is read the board. Also, I wasn't talking about "fan praise" or the "media". What I was talking about is the front page of what is supposed to be a fan site. I'm not saying that fans shouldn't discuss, or bash for that matter, anyone they want. What I'm saying is that any opposing fan would have a good laugh seeing that on the front page of a "bills backing" website. Like I said previously, show me Peyton Manning's game losing interceptions on the front page of a Colts site. Too much class, and too much pride for that sort of thing. Poor taste in my book whether you agree or not. That's what makes America great!
  10. No! What I'm saying here is that we are all Bills fans here. As painful as that may be why have a running video of the single worst play of the season. That makes no sense. When other teams fans come on the board and see that video right on the front page it makes us look pathetic. All I can say is I certainly do not think we would go to Colts.com and see one of Peyton Manning's interceptions this week being highlighted on the front page. Call me crazy
  11. Its disrespectful to the player, and his family. How do we know he does not frequently visit fan sites?? We dont! I understand that he is a professional athlete, and if yahoo or nfl.com is going to post the video that is fine with me. To put it on the front page of a Buffalo Bills fan site to me is in bad taste. What is the point of it? To advertise the horrible play? Such a tacky and tasteless move in my book. Why not put the Freddy J touchdown catch, or any of Fitzpatrick's great plays from the game. I'm just saying if you cant get love from your own team's fan page then where the heck can you get it. Certainly, not on dolphins.com
  12. I dont know about everyone else on the board, but I have to say that is pretty disrespectful. Everyone knows what happened, I dont think it needs to be advertised with the you tube video on the front page. The guy is having a very good year. He does drop some balls, and he may or may not be the future in Buffalo, but he is still a man. I am sure he is hurting enough. We were 2-8 anyway. Its not like he ruined our playoff hopes.
  13. Well, how quick one game changes things! I am sure many of you will still argue, but I think we unfortunately found out today the validity of my point. What a heart breaker. McKelvin is so shaky with the damn ball every time as well. Does anyone hold their breath when he returns a kick. I dont mean in a good way either.
  14. I love what Fitz has done this year. He is a gritty, tough quarterback. Perfect for a Buffalo blue collar team. Unfortunately, I think we definitely need to draft a blue chip quarterback once and for all. If you look at the super bowl for the last dozen years, the winning quarterbacks are below. Do you think this is a coincidence that these guys are all future hall of famers. We need that stud QB once and for all. QB isn't everything, but it sure is A LOT. With the exception of Brad and Trent those guys are all probably top 20 QB's to ever play when their careers are over. Johnson and Dilfer had two of the best defenses EVER so they are the exception. That is a huge rarity though, and definitely not how the Bills will ever operate. BEN ROETHLISBERGER PEYTON MANNING TOM BRADY DREW BREES ELI MANNING KURT WARNER JOHN ELWAY BRETT FAVRE TRENT DILFER BRAD JOHNSON
  15. Yes what was I thinking? Gailey is an offensive powerhouse who was fired before the season even started in Kansas City, and showed nothing but mediocracy at Georgia Tech. Coach Gailey would have had a tough time getting an offensive coordinator job this season, let alone a head coaching job anywhere else but Buffalo. Please don't ever reference Peyton Manning again when comparing him to ANYTHING concerning Buffalo Bills football. He is the best quarterback to ever play. Lastly, call me crazy for thinking Terrell Owens is a better wide out than Stevie Johnson. He has only put up consistent numbers for 15 seasons. I have to say I am just not one of those people who believes that Fitzpatrick, Stevie Johnson, Shawn Nelson, and our offensive line has what it takes to be a good NFL offense on a week to week basis. Before the Cincinnati offensive explosion, the Bills had scored over 20 points in just 3 out of their 9 games. This team has more problems than a lack of pass rush. THEY NEED A QUARTERBACK! And when that happens, is this QB going to be as Stevie Johnson happy as Fitz is? I somehow don't believe it.
  16. Believe me, I am just as thrilled as anyone about the production of Stevie Johnson, I just dont think its permanent. He is at the right place at the right time, with a new offense that has not been figured out yet. Next year we will all be sitting here wondering what happened to the Stevie J "from last year". We had our wide out tandem last year. Owens and Evans showed real promise in a horrible Dick Jauron offense let mainly by TRENT EDWARDS! I love Stevie Johnson as much as any other Bills fan. I love what he stands for, and I love what he has done this year. Lastly, I would love nothing more than to be dead wrong about him, and for him to go on to be a pro bowl caliber guy for the rest of his career. I just cant see it happening. He strikes me as a Brandon Lloyd type of guy. A guy who is putting up numbers right now due to a situation, but not a long term solution. I hope I am wrong
  17. Anyone who thinks this is a receiving tandem that can win in the NFL is insane. Lee Evans is a legitimate starter in the league, but come on Stevie Johnson?? I LOVE what the guy is doing this season, but can we really believe that when his name is out there that this guy is going to still be productive? This is a player who is a product of the defensive attention that Lee Evans is getting, as well as a pass happy offense that is playing from behind most of the time. He drops a lot of balls as well. If this guy turns out to be the real deal then I am happy as can be about being dead wrong. I just can't see it though. He doesnt have great speed, great athleticism, great size, or great anything. I certainly think this team needs to still be looking for a wide receiver threat, but that is just one man's opinion.
  18. WELL SAID JEREMY! As a free agent linebacker, wide receiver, left tackle, or defensive end what sounds more attractive? Donovan McNabb, Mike Shanahan, and an actual shot at a post season, or Ryan Fitzpatrick/Brian Brohm, Coach Chan Gailey, and a franchise that hasn't made the playoffs in over a decade. McNabb and Shanahan do not just bring wins to a franchise (although they do that), but they bring credibility. They show players, and coaches out there that there is a commitment to winning in Buffalo. Free agents know that guys like McNabb, and Shanahan are in a city to win a championship, not just to collect a paycheck. Those type of guys can get a paycheck anywhere. Its their commitment, and history of winning that makes them attractive!
  19. McNabb made the Redskins a contender the second he walked through the door. Not to mention he is 8 games into a totally new system, with new coaches, and new teamates after playing in the same system for 12 years or so. The redskins won 4 games all year last year. They have already matched that total half way through the season. I don't know if I am blind or stupid, but to me that seems like a vastly improved team due to Donovan and Shanahan. The skins are two heartbreaking losses away from being 6-2, and the talk of the NFL. I certainly would rather be in the Redskins position right now than the Bills. Also, trading away a draft pick for Donovan McNabb is not too steep. I wouldn't but too high a value on a FIRST ROUND Buffalo Bills draft pick, let alone 2nd, 3rd, or 4th. (ie. Maybin, McCargo, Troup, Losman, Trent, Lynch, etc etc etc etc)
  20. Yes, I would hate to be 4-4 right now with a chance at a playoff birth. Why on earth would we want Shanahan? Those winning coaches have no place here. Agreed, Mike Shanahan has more talent than Chan Gailey. A big reason for that is because players have heard of Mike Shanahan. Call me crazy, but Donovan McNabb, Jamaal Brown, Trent Williams in one offseason? To me that is building a team properly. CJ Spiller, Torell Troup, and a group of journeymen linebackers is not how you build a success. Our first two draft picks barely see the field. We certainly do not have the depth to draft players that early who are not going to play.
  21. Stroud is certainly not "over the hill". He is simply playing out of position. Just because a guy loses weight doesn't make him a defensive end. I would love to see a 4-3 with Kyle, Stroud, and Troup (when he develops) all rotating. Not sure what the hell to do about a pass rush. Hopefully, Merriman comes in and has that type of impact
  22. Yes clearly we could not use Moss. We have Steve Johnson already. What was I thinking? Also, with the Terrell Owens comparisons, I did not realize we got better without him as we dropped to 0-7 this week. Owens and Lee Evans could have been a great tandem, just like Moss and Evans could. Do I think there is one in a million chance that the Bills would pull the trigger on something like this? Of course not! But to sit there and act like this would not be a great pickup and a huge upgrade is such ignorance. The Bills offense showed flashes of greatness with T.O in the game last year vs Miami and Jacksonville. There is a reason that these guys are future hall of fame players, and we are bringing up practice squad guys to our starting lineup.
  23. Who cares if they are shut down corners or not. The few blitzes we EVER run are very successful. Every QB we played this season has had an OVERLY long amount of time to throw the ball. You would think by week three they would be dialing up some blitzes. Then again when you look at the conservative offense, you can guess the defense won't be much different.
  24. I dont even care if we screw it up, we will be a different team under ANY other quarterback. We will lose yes, we may even get blown out, but WE WILL ATLEAST SHOW SOME PRODUCTION AND MOVE THE DAMN BALL FOR FIRST DOWNS!! I dont care if we score all day, atleast on 3rd and 6 we wont throw for 2 yards!!!
  25. I guess I am one of the very few that would follow them as a fan wherever they went. I am a football fanatic, and more importantly, a Bills fanatic so I really could never even come close to pulling for another organization. As sad as it is, I would be one of the first people with LA BLOODS or ORLANDO MICKEY MICE season tickets
