Bad Things

Mate, your story instantly brought me back to the early 90's, when I'd still go back home to upstate for summers. (I was going to college in Colorado at the time.) I had a sweet summer maintenance job at a local park, and everyday the crew would pile into a couple trucks and ride into the village for some lunch. There was this one guy, whose BO was un-f'ing-believable. I distinctly remember 2 times when he squeezed in the truck, next to me, and honestly made me physically wretch. I've had the misfortune to smell BO a bunch of times in my life, but this dude was the Mt Everest of stank! Thanks for reminding me of that! Now I feel like I need to take a shower.

I totally agree with you. I just don't want the team to have any distractions with any "me first" type attitudes. Plus, don't forget how well our RB2 and RB3 produced when given a chance last year.

I actually look back at the Covid years fondly. It was a really pleasant experience to have New Zealand (and the Cook Islands) all to ourselves without any of the international tourists here. Tourism was beginning to get a little out of hand with the number of people coming here to visit. Covid squashed that, but the numbers are already beginning to rise again. Being home with my teenage kids was really good too. (Mrs Things was an essential worker so had to go in each day.)

So, I've been living in New Zealand for the last 20 years now. While I don't always wear Bills gear, I do wear a Bills hat from time to time. In these 20 years, no one has ever made a comment to me until yesterday. I was walking through town and some guy that I was walking past, looked up and shouted, "Go Bills!" I immediately spun around, extended my hand and asked if he was a Bills fan. He said, "Nah, I just hope you kick the crap our of KC! I can't stand 'em!" That's close enough to being a "sign" to me! Let's go Buffalo!

A couple years ago, my wife were holidaying on the island of Rarotonga, in the Cook Islands, where we rent a little beach house each winter. Well, this one year, there were a couple workers doing some maintenance on the house next door, while I was drinking rum in the shade of the coconut trees. They were playing music, but kept it quiet and to themselves, until the end of the day, when everyone but one of them went home. This one guy stayed behind to clean up. Well, since he was alone, he took control of the boombox and played the following song on repeat for at least a dozen times in a row. The song is so bloomin' bad, my wife and I were laughing our butts off each time it came on again. Every now and then, I'll load it up on the stereo just to play the intro and annoy the Mrs. (It's so bad!)
