Bills plan for Tuel as week 1 starter
FutureBillsGM replied to DisplacedBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Leach commentary on Sirius: First of all, size/strength he is solid and has quick feet. Strong arm. Accurate. The one thing with Jeff Tuel, never really got in a rhythm between injuries and moving around/new coaches. If he can get in one in Buffalo curious to see how it can turn out. Has quite a bit of Cont: Does he still have quite a bit of upside? Leach- No question. He has a lot of upside. If you add up how many college games he has played it doesn't come out to that many. Spent a lot of them running for his life including last year. Set situation where things are consistent I think he can really blossom. Think upside is higher than other people brought in. -
Bills Trade for Lions QB Thaddeus Lewis
FutureBillsGM replied to BRAWNDO's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In ther NFL.com story I just posted it says that they selected Kellen Moore due tohis superior arm strength thus making Lewis available. Wasn't the knock on Moore coming out his size and lack of arm strength? That doesn't sound promising for Lewis. -

I think Hogan makes it based on the fact that he has been playing with the 1s a lot of the time in preseason. He hasn't done anything to move him from that spot as well although hasn't played out of this world at WR either. He has played well on ST. My guess is: SJ/Woods//Graham/Hogan/Goodwin/Smith/Easley. They try to stash either Rogers or Kauffman on the practice squad but think Rogers get's picked up. Hogan is on the field in four WR sets with either Graham or Goodwin.

I would say Hogan makes it in a bit of a surprise over Smith or Rogers and Pough makes it to the detriment of Chris White.

How Long Have You Been A Bills Fan And When Did You Know?
FutureBillsGM replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm 32. Been a Bills fan in a Bills family from the beginning but I never "KNEW" I was a Bills fan until I was about 7 and my dad took me to a game and the mild mannered accountant became a screaming, raging maniac who got into "semi" fights with people who opposed his views, tailgated for hours and finally was himself for the only times ever in our lives. I am now a season ticket holder and can't wait to take my daughters when they are ready. -

Is it common for free agents to not attent the voluntary camps? I see Manny Lawson and Alan Branch were not in attendance from the article. You would think that you'd want to get in there ASAP when joining a new team. -
Early 53 Man Roster Project
FutureBillsGM replied to ChanOverChin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Everyone is clammoring for ILB and CB but G is scary. Colin Brown as a starter? People wanted him ran off the team during preseason last year. And the only backup being Young. Unless the plan is to kick Sanders inside and even that is a complete unknown. People talk about Chibane from 'Cuse but he's wasnt even close to draftable by most teams and is insanely unathletic. G would be my priority. -
Pough was the talk of the East West Shrine game and I was very surprised he wasn't drafted. I know a few people who watched Kauffman play and said that he's absolutely amazing anddosn't drop a pass. The CB from USC was a projected 5th rounder who they say compares to Jabari Greer. I love this UDFA class.

People make jokes about SeaBass in the first but hes been a 13 year contributor and a stud kicker. Much better than many whiffs we've (and may other teams) have made in the draft. Value is all relative.

Rolando McClain (update - released by Raiders)
FutureBillsGM replied to FutureBillsGM's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was for going after this guy a while ago but what a waste of talent and space Seriously? An NFL player who just signed a contract where we was "lectured" by Ozzie Newsome about his responsibilites and expectations is backin the same town with the same people hanging out with a large crowd at a freaking park? And then gets into it with police officers. This guy seems way more worried about his rep in Decatur than his NFL career. -

Honestly, I have never seen him play but watching the combine the guy was an absolute beast. Don't know how well he is on the field but I read some reviews and analysis of him after the combine performance and I kept thinking to myself "How is this guy a 4th round pick"? -

Bills officially sign QB Kevin Kolb
FutureBillsGM replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They would have kept Fitz if he restructured. All I was saying is this guy put up similar numbers behind a worse line and no one wants to touch him in a quarterback empty FA class for little money? -
Bills officially sign QB Kevin Kolb
FutureBillsGM replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Kolb in 4.5 games or so has a better winning percentage that Fitz did last year, had a better QB rating (86.1 to 83.3), very close completion percentage (59.6% for Kolb and 60.6% for Fitz), a better TD to INT ratio (2.67 to 1.5) and a very close average yards per attempt (6.39 for Kolb and 6.73 for Fitz). The way people are just throwing this guy away as a complete loser is ridiculous. For cheap, he'd be a great pickup. His line was in the worst 2 or 3 in the league last year as well and he was always taking hits and running for his life. -
#1 Cordarrelle Patterson WR Tennesee (Big guy with good hands and ran pretty well at the combine today, need WR badly now) #2 Tyler Bray QB Tennesee (Buddy said you have to draft them a round earlier than you should. Bray has all of the skills and looked good at the combine so far. May be an idiot and/or a loser but in this draft class I will take that) #3 Nico johnson ILB Alabama #4 Keith Pough OLB Howard #5 Brandon Kaufman WR E. Michigan #6 Steve Williams CB California

2013 East-West Shrine Game Rosters
FutureBillsGM replied to Mark Vader's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have been keeping up wit hthe reports about the East-West Shrine Game practices. Everyone is raving about the RB from Pitt being the best player there and significantly improving his stock. I have also heard a couple things about Keith Pough, a linebacker from Howard. I am liking what I am reading so far. Here are a few clips from various sites: Keith Pough, LB, Howard: The small-school linebacker has been one of the better defenders at the East-West Shrine game all week. Pough shows impressive mobility and fluidity in coverage you wouldn't expect from such a big linebacker. 01/18/13 - 2013 SHRINE GAME PRACTICE RISERS: 1. OLB Keith Pough, Howard (6016, 241 -- West Team)...With his performance on the practice field this week and through talking to NFL scouts, putting Pough at No. 1 was the easiest decision on this list. He showed off his natural athleticism and coordination during drills, and while he has room to get stronger, his aggressive and violent playing style was impressive. Pough's physical attributes stand out, but so does his approach to the game. He brings a non-stop motor and competitive attitude to the defense, regardless if it's practice or a game. Although he's still a tad rough around the edges, Pough is a player on the rise and it wouldn't be a shock if he ends up as one of the first players drafted from this year's Shrine Game. - Dane Brugler, NFLDraftScout.com 01/15/13 - EAST WEST SHRINE GAME - MONDAY PRACTICE: The most talkative award goes to Howard outside linebacker Keith Pough (West Team), who was barking all practice - not only at himself but also his teammates. While some view this as a negative, the coaching staff of the West squad appeared to encourage it, loving the energy he was showing while pushing those around him. Along with his gift for gab, Pough is also a very talented football player. He stood out during the linebacker drills as the best athlete of the group with excellent flexibility and agility for the position. Pough was the only linebacker during drills who didn't need reminding to "stay low" during blocking drills. He does have a few bad habits with lowering his head and keeping his eyes in the wrong place, but he is definitely a defensive prospect worth watching due to his athleticism and competitive nature. - Dane Brugler, NFLDraftScout.com -
A question about season tickets...
FutureBillsGM replied to DocLawless's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm in Section 201 of the Rock Pile. Really can't beat it for the price. $25 a ticket. I ended up laying with my band a lot on Sundays, went to two games and made more than my money by selling the others. -
Quarterbacks in the Draft
FutureBillsGM replied to bisonbrigade's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would spend a 7th round pick on Sean Renfree from Duke. "They" had him rated as a late round prospect before he was hurt in the bowl game (pectoral muscle- out 6 months, no combine/workouts) and are now saying he will most likely go undrafted, He has good size (6'4, 225) and can make all of the NFL throws. He was very accurate (over 67% on the year) and his coach at Duke is a QB mentor and has said he has the same work ethic as Peyton and Eli. I'm surprised he wasn't6 valued higher before the injury. -
NFL Black Monday for coaches and GMs
FutureBillsGM replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
LB Briggs > LB Barnett LB Urlacher > LB Shepperd LB Roach > LM Whoever (And I'd say only slightly here. He's not an elite player by any means) CB Jennings > CB Williams/McKelvin CB Tillman = CB Gilmore SS Wright = SS Wilson/Searcy FS Conte < FS Byrd Do you agree with this? I would say linebacker is the only significant area that they are better. I think Gilmore is actually a better corner than Tillman. Tillman has a ton of turnover this year but I think that is a product of the defense. Gilmore's cover skills can be elite while Tilmman has avearge cover skills. Jennings is better than any other corner we have but Byrd (especially in that defense) is a major upgrade to any of their safeties. In retrospect I should have said Byrd >Wright, Conte=Wilson/Searcy but i wouldn't say we're far off from them. A couple linebackers and a CB away, not a complete rebuild. -
NFL Black Monday for coaches and GMs
FutureBillsGM replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Who knows if he had final say. And it is not like they were "bad" hires. They were all respected NFL coaches (Turner, Martz, Tice). They have had no offensive line for years and just got a quarterback who has been killed and turnover prone. I don't think this is something to ride him for. True but is our personell that much different than Chicagos other than the linebackers which we need to upgrade anyways? Our line would be perfect for that scheme in my opinion.
