Special teams deserves credit

I thought Colton Schmidt was very impressive. -
He has a "school" where he coaches and mentors draftable college players to prepare them for the NFL. They're probably looking for him to do the same type of role with EJ. Doesn't hurt he was on the Bears as well.

First year season tickets parking question
FutureBillsGM replied to nuiwek's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I usually try to get to Hammers. I sometimes don't get there early enough based on my company or have to bounce out as soon as posible due to obligations with the kids or my band which is when I park down Southwestern. Hammers is the place to be though. -
First year season tickets parking question
FutureBillsGM replied to nuiwek's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Promo, do they "party" in that lot? I have parked in the area at Stadium Collision right past the bridge. They charge $10 and the walk isn't bad at all. It's just not much of a tailgate area. A few people have a beer at their car or throwing around a football but I've never seen a grill there or anything. Promo is right though. When I have parked here, I literally get to my car and drive out east. No wait at all. -
Definitely a lot less tickets than when I looked the other day. But still quite a few left in the 300s (probably 100 per section or so). I'd say the 3k is probably accurate.

Just got a notification about my seasons...
FutureBillsGM replied to USMCBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I get a letter yesterday with my "reward" points. Directs you to a site that you can trade the points for Bills stuff. I think mine is lower than last years equivalent. I got the tour of the stadium and stuff last year. The best I could do this year was a Bills license plate holder. Still coolto come homw to free Bills stuff though! -
Super Bowl half time acts have to pay the NFL to play
FutureBillsGM replied to 17 Josh Allen's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I'm not saying they should even get paid per se. Its my understanding that they always did it for free. I just see no logical reasoning to ask the band to pay for their services. There is legitimately no other job that you would ask this. Should the players pay because they are in the Super Bowl and have free advertising that they will use to immediately add endorsement deals the next day? (Obviously that last part is tongue in cheek and I realize it is not a direct correlation but figure I should put this on there before someone goes off) -

But the band isnt asking to advertise themselves. Sure it is part of why they do it, but the NFL is asking them to entertain a crowd at half time. If they come out and totally stink it up, they won't be selling anything the next day. They should be rewarded for the talent to not come out and stink it up. -

As a musician this disgusts me. Its getting more and more likely to be this way in the local scene too. These are musicians. This is their career. Pay the mto do what they do as they are providing entertainment value for you. What other line of work would you not get paid to do your job. Hey Jim, go balance our books. We aren't going to pay you but we'll be sure to tell all the other firms what a great job you did. That's called an internship. These are not interns. Also, I'm not a Coldplay fan but I appreciate their music. Would that not be the most depressing half time show ever though? -
Yes, again, you can turn that off though..... Once on the map there is a "resale" toggle that you can switch to Yes or No. Yes shows the resale tickets, No shows just the tickets for sale by the Bills.
-
You can turn the "resale" function off. Still appears to be a lot of tickets left with that off as well. Pretty much every section has some open with al ot of 300s left.

I buy my two season seats and go to 2-3 games (my band obligations don't allow a lot of free Sundays). These games are basically for free just selling the tickets at face value. If I tried to bump up the price, which I easily could (sold my Pats game for face this year when prices are almost double that in some spots), I would profit and still go to games free and clear.

FCC to make announcement here on sports blackouts
FutureBillsGM replied to uncle flap's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Basically one of the FCC Commissioners (there are 5) came to Buffalo to say he supports lifting the blackout rule. Article on the Rochester NBC site. Not sure why this was news. They have come out in support of this before. -
Ryan Mallett - back on the block?
FutureBillsGM replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Brady Quinn was on the Dan Patrick Show the other day talking about a workout he had with a mystery team. He said "the workout went well but something would have to happen in that situation before he signed". Patrick asked him if he meant an injury and Quinn hesitated and said "yeah...something like that". -
Ummmm why on earth didn't you?

Plans to attend first bills game
FutureBillsGM replied to Wazzu Bill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not necessarily for a Pats game in a decent weather month. You can find "deals" still. I sold my tickets for that game at face value recently on one of the Bills groups on Facebook. If you can get anything near face value I would scoop them up. -

If the Bills are winning, the resale market will be insane. If they are losing, they start selling tickets for nothing. Being a Pats game and relatively early in the season I would say that you are almost guaranteed to get what you paid back (as long as you can find tickets at a reasonable price now, that game is already selling the highest of any out there). -
Astro-Notes, Thursday July 31
FutureBillsGM replied to Astrobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was there last Saturday. Spikes was doing the same type of things with the LBs. Seems to have taken the dominant leadership role out there. He also looked fast and fluid which I was not expecting. I did not feel the same about Preston Brown who looked smaller than I thought he would be and slower/not fluid. Randall Johnson is a beast. Looks like the size of a DT but ripped and fast. Good to hear EJ is slowing down. Get back in the swing of things. Go Bills! -
What is the deal with Richardson and Kouandjio?
FutureBillsGM replied to Kellyto83TD's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Matthew Fairburn @MatthewFairburn 17m Finally getting a good look at Cyril Richardson today. Taking first team reps at RG. Getting overpowered a bit, but good experience for him. -
Newbie adivse for attending first game
FutureBillsGM replied to jsswansonjr's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, I try to get there by 8 at the latest. Depends on how late I was out the night before, haha. Any private lot will do but look for one of the bigger ones. A lot of the smaller ones have families, or groups of people that know eachother. They will be friendly but maybe not as hospitable as some of the larger lots where is is more of a community event. I have sat i nthe club seats and I have sat in the Rockpile (the cheap seats in the end zone known for rowdiness) and I purchase season tickets in the Rockpile. The screaming, yelling, jumping, standing, fighting, hugging, high fiving crowd is more my type than the sit and watch a game quietly type. I can do that at home (not that I would). -
I have first hand knowledge of some of Andre's moral decisions. He's not a great dude. Nice enough guy but he likes his women and money. Still was one of the best Bills ever and will always love him. These guys aren't all super great people.
