  1. Where did you ready that? I have read four articles today on my Droid apps (mostly from National Football Post but a few others) that Brown may be the best LT prospect in the draft and they expect him to go in the top 15 now.
  2. I didn't catch who it was but on NFL Network they just said that Donald Penn, the starting LT and restricted free agent, from Tampa Bay, may ask for a trade in the next 24 hours. I don't know naything about him but from what I have read online he is a dpretty good player on a bad, bad team. He is only 26 and if Baltimore wants a 2nd for Gaither he could probably be had for less (hopefully). The Bucs tendered him at the highest level (1st and 3rd round compensation) so they must like him.
  3. The only trade down partner I could see if Houston at #20 if Spiller falls and hes the guy they want. They also have other needs though. None of the other teams seem to make sense and there doesn't seem to be anyone behind us dying for Clausen. Thoughts?
  4. Matt Flynn is the Packers backup QB from LSU who was drafted in the 7th round a few years ago and beat out Brohm for the job. I really hope he is referring to Matt Ryan as Matt Flynn is more like Jim Sorgi than Peyton Manning.
  5. Per Shefter's twitter he will be in Arizona Thursday and met with Whisenhut in Pittsburg today. Adam_Schefter Cardinals HC Ken Whisenhunt was in Pittsburgh with Joey Porter, as was Arizona LB Clark Haggans. It's like a homecoming for Porter. about 1 hours ago via UberTwitter Reply Retweet Adam_Schefter In the week after Arizona lost LB Karlos Dansby to Miami, former Dolphins LB Joey Porter is scheduled to visit the Cardinals on Thursday.
  6. With Maybin and Schobel on the outside, we are basically running a 5-2-4 defense which would be best against the run. Unfortunately, this 5-2-4 would be weak against the run. Schobel and Maybin would both be liabilities in coverage and Mitchell isn't much better.
  7. Trade this years 2nd round pick and next years second round pick for Donovan McNabb. Trade #9 to Houston for #20 and #51 (or someone around the same area). Draft (based on the updated Walterfootball.com mock): 20 Mike Iupati G/T Idaho 51 Brandon Spikes ILB Florida 71 Torrell Troup NY UCF 104 Jason Fox OT Miami 5TH CJ Wilson DE East Carolina 6TH Tyler Sheehan QB Bowling Green (my sleeper QB prospect) 7TH WR Free Agents: Antonio Bryant WR Depth Biggest issue is how the OL would shake out. I don't see a veteran who could come in and play LT unless we go for C. Clifton but he has lost a lot recently. Some options are: LT Clifton LG Wood C Hangartner RG Levitre RT Iupati LT Levitre LG Wood C Hangartner RG Wade Smith RT Iupati Not perfect but I think it upgrades without giving up too much and next year we focus on LT and LB in the draft.
  8. Mason says he'll play if the Ravens give him a 2 year deal. Ravens have been receptive before this.
  9. Why, with all of our needs, would be be targeting a RB when we have two capable starters on the roster. Say what you want about Lynch but he has proven he can start and is still young. Jackson may have been our offensive MVP and certainly has something left in the tank.
  10. As I stated in my post the only current player I could find is Antonio Gates who did not play NCAA football (did play basketball).
  11. Syracuse's own Ray Seals never attended college and Darren Bennett the Chargers former punter came from an Australian rules league. But yeah, the list is nowhere near NBA standards.
  12. Eric Swann, former DT from the Cardinals, is the biggest name as I believe he was drafted from a semi-pro team. The only current example I could find is Antonio Gates. He did go to college but did not play football at the NCAA level.
  13. I wrote Bob Matthews a letter when I was 12 years old (I am 28 now) when he was actually relevent in the Rochester sports scene talking about my plans to bring a minor league basketball team to Rochester (I have wanted to be a GM since I was about 6, lol). He read the letter, stating I was 12, and wrote back a scathing, derogatory letter. I understand what he was saying but Rochester does have a minor league team now and what adult does that to a 12 year old with an at least well though out plan for their age. He's always been a loser and always will be. Still got the letter at my parents house.
  14. I would not mind at all if we could find some veteran to man LT for a year or two if we drafted Iupati and had a line of: LT Veteran FA LG Levitre C Wood RG Iupati RT Butler This is assuming of course that Wood returns to almost full strength and Butler can hold up a season. This would make for a good enough OL to get a veteran QB somehow and possibly compete. It also gives us much better depth on the OL.
  15. I'd pick him up undrafted but if you think Pike is small Paulus is just as skinny and a lot shorter. He worked out for teams beforee going to Syracuse and basically only went to 'Cuse when teams told him thanks but no thanks.
  16. Cincy -2.5 Baltimore +3.5 Philly +4 GB +1 Like all of them to win straight up
  17. I thought he didn't get the job. This article says he turned them down for financial reasons. http://www.neworleans.com/sports/lsu/28386...vers-coach.html
  18. He did. Was rumored to be goin to LSU but apparently didn't get the job or it fell through.
  19. Did anyone see the ESPN the magazine article this week that analyzed all of the current assistant coaches against statsitics from previous coaching hired and "annointed" Marty Morningweig as the next great coach. Interesting read and seems like he has learned a lot.
  20. Out of all that have been listed in this thread, I would vote David Garrard. I did get my MBA from East Carolina so I have a partial affinity for ECU players but he is tough and mobile. Del Rio is on record that he loves him as his QB though so I doubt he's available this year.
  21. Batch is the only one who would be an upgrade over Fitz but he is coming off a season ending injury and as you said on the wrong side of 30.
  22. I don't think this is very accurate but if this were the real draft which option do you like best? Or is there another order you'd like? I'd say #2 followed closely by #1. Trent Williams T Oklahoma Brian Bulaga T Iowa Colt McCoy QB Texas Sam Bradford QB Oklahoma Brian Bulaga T Iowa Rodderick Muckelroy LB Texas Rolando McClain LB Alabama Tony Pike QB Cincinatti Dan Williams DT Tennesee http://football.realgm.com/src_wiretap_arc...aft_version_40/
  23. Gill to be named head coach at Kansas per breaking news on front page of sports.yahoo.com. Not that I thought he'd come here but it is Buffalo related and people had mentioned him as a possibility. http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/news...o&type=lgns
  24. Pike started last year and this year. That is two years and does not fit the "Tuna Criteria" he only played in 5 games sparingly in 2007 and redshirted in 2006.
  25. By big, you must mean tall as his upper body is comparable to a stick figure. I like him and all but big isn't a wrod I would use for Pike. I like him too but he doesn't often read the defense in that offense. It basically snap and throw to the predetermiend receiver.
