  1. Don't forget the state...whatever you do...don't forget the state. Outside of NYC, it might as well be South Dakota...
  2. Having returned refreshed and refocused from my site induced sabbatical, I am admonishing the greatness of the Red Dragon and Pass the Pipe to resume the activity of providing their keen and often incomperable insight to the denizens of TBD. First I must thank the leadership of thie board for affording me the opportunity to spend my suspension in the company of a couple of lovely southern bells from the tiny hamlet of Gastonia North Carolina. Finer examples of American beauty showing such generosity would be hard to locate. While pleasantly engaged in relaxation techniques perfected in the orient, I did have some time to observe in amazement but more so in horror at some of the thoughts shared on this very site by members revered for their contributions to the wall. On the topic of Ralph's ultimatum and thoughts on what is happening with the collective agreement and impacts to the city and franchise; Ralph was hailed as an inspirational leader that was fighting for the little guy, showing the courage of David and he stood toe to toe with the Syrian Goliath. Such brovado at his age - magnificent. To you I say - this man has done well by the sity of Buffalo for keepiong the team in it for so long, and at least during one period in the clubs history, provided a good product that the city could be proud of. On the other hand, mr Wilson has grossly mismanaged this business. He failed to capitalize on the successes of the team or the NFL in general. Even in the city of Buffalo - it could and should be worth another $50 to $100MM. Plainly and clearly to anyone operaitng a business, he left far too much money on the table and should not hold the city of the league accountable for his mismanagement. Why only a few short years ago, Mr Wilson was hailing the wonderful job Tom Donohoe had done turning the franchise around and getting it back to fine shape. In this instance, are we to assume that Ralph didn't actually know what was going on? Perhaps so, and in the end, another example of the poor business skills shown. I applaud the mayor of Buffalo for taking his stance - the team will not hold the city hostage. On the topic Peerless Price - there is no practical way that anyone can support this signing, especially at the dollars involved. Simply put - the man has lost a step and his confidence and in all liklihood will be cut before September. Shame on Marv for trying to catch lighting a second time with this player. The BIlls are today an organization primed for lows not seen since the Kay Stevenson era. During this difficult economic time in WNY, I fully expect the Bills to surface the the popular choice next season to be named to move to another city. And rightfully so - the economic strata of WNY is such that it cannot support ticket prices starting at $60 per seat. Along that path, the city may not be the right place for a franchise today. To the Red Dragon and Pass the Pipe, I await your insights and what the future might bring.
  3. As an expert on all things football and related to the city of Buffalo and mankind in general - 1. Houston---Reggie Bush 2. New Orleans----D'Brickashaw Ferguson 3. Tennessee----Matt Leinart 4. New York Jets----Mario Williams 5. Green Bay----A.J. Hawk 6. San Francisco----Vernon Davis 7. Oakland----Vince Young 8. Minnesota ---- Jay Cutler And so it shall come to pass that the aging tandem of Marv and Ralph shall slide down the pole of an interesting but average draft class to select Winston Justice or make a bold move and select the mammoth max jean Giles at number 17. All is not lost, Darnell Bing in the 2rd Round will cure the woes and fears that a starting Coy Wire will bring. The DT position will be improved only slightly with the bold moves of selecting both Kyle Williams and Dusty Dvoracek in the 3rd...
  4. JD Williams...had to be as he was near sighted...
  5. 3-13 and a shot at Brady Quinn...
  6. The one thing the Pats have done really well that I hope Marv will be doing - watch for the players waived in the coming months. The Pats have been very good at getting role guys on the cheap this way. Since we did no little in the open free agency period, I am hoping for more of a move to shore up questions we have with FA signings that span 1-3 years to allow us to drfat and develop our own...
  7. Love the draft. After they moved Moulds, the first thought was - I would absolutely take Vernon Davis now to take the heat off of Evan.s The problem I hear though is that the 49'ers are very interested in him and have spent a lot of time with him...
  8. I like the premise of the post...well written argument...Now you have blown marv's cover!
  9. That is what I was hoping/thought they would do...I wonder if Pickett had signed here - would they have thrown in the Moulds card and go to a re-build/load mode...
  10. I always thought we were rebuilding, but there was a lot of doubt expressed by many on the site...the world may not be as visionary as us...come on
  11. I know there was a lot of debate around the Bills status as being competitive in the NFL. With the talk on Losman, the departure of Moulds etal, is it safe to call the Bills rebuilding and a legit shot at another top 5 pick next year? I do not think they are in a 5 year mind-set like San Fran or Dallas was, (because they are in a healthy cap state), however, they need a good draft this year and next and a really good free agent crop next year to hope to be competitive...
  12. Comprende...Why not exactamundo Fonzi? Dean - I see you are a denizen of San Francisco - get that --ck out of your a-s and get a get a grip of your self. B word slapped? Something I gues a queen like you would be familiar with huh?
  13. Not on your life - just amazed at what the fans are willing to buy if it's adorned in the red whte and blue of the Bills....
  14. Edgerine James is a Card...
  15. Larry Tripplete = Jeff Wright Royals = Butch Rolle (man we'll get them with the goal line slide for a TD to Royals...can't wait) Andre Davis = Billy Brooks Damn I can't wait for us to shock the world in the draft; take a high character guy from an Ivy league school in the second, probably an O-lineman, take a speedster in the 3rd round from Montana, and gasp, a born again christian QB in the fourth who lead Liberty collage or some other meaningless little school to the biggest come back in the schools history...It's all coming together as planned...now lets go see what Todd Collins is up to...
  16. Pass-the-pipe - Glad to see you are still sharing your opinions regardless of what the cheer squad is saying. I wished I saw the post before putting my own thoghts up. I find it amazing how the influence of this site buys what the Bills are doing as moves that will make a difference? Thay've grabbed a couple of role players and a marginal DT who is undersized by most...Another Jeff Wright maybe. If we dig really hard, maybe we can dig up a safety to be like Matt Darby...that'll get the crowd here brostling with anticipation for a playoff game at the Ralph. I know it's early in the off-season, but nothing has happened with this team to make me believe the ship has begun to right itself. That said - let's go chastise the Cardinals or Browns for the moves they made...those dumb assed players know nothing - don't they know that the road to the Superbowl always goes through Orchard Park?
  17. I think it's amazing to watch the ebb and flow of the TBD army now that the off season has truly begun. I have seen two posters, (pass the pipe and some other guy), voice early concern for what is happening and getted chastised like like some poor girl walking into an abortion clinic. Sure, if your a "Pro Bowler" rated member, you undoubtedly suck the a-s of Ralph Wilson and see the vision in these selections that no NFL writer wirth his salt shared... I read on, and see people extolling the genius of Marv for taking "depth chart players" in moves that surely will get the Bills back into playoff contention. Wow - third and fourth stringers and rejects from other teams will improve the BIlls - TD must have really f-ed this team up huh? Refreshing again, I get to read how Edgerine James rather take the money than play for a Superbowl by going to the place players go to end their careers... Are you kidding me - Arizona is less desirable than Buffalo? Get a feaking grip of yourselves!!! As we chase role players, alsorans such as Cleveland, Arizona and Washington are negotiating free agency with an eye on the prize. What the Bills are doing is replacing our free agents with garbage from other teams. I know I am not an NFL officianado like the brantrust and those that lampoon on this site, but with the exception of Larry Triplette, (another lean DT like the one we already have), how many of you even cared to know Royal or Davis were free agents? Do we really need to spend $2MM a year on a blocking tight end? Take some fat suck Tackle out of a 1A school and make him your blocking tight end. Blocking right ends are not valued in the NFL - ones who catch AND block are. As for Davis - great, we have another Evens, Parrish type on the roster. Even money says he might not be on the roster by the final cuts for next season. Address the O-line, safety, DE, QB? Nope - but we have a couple of role players and another pass rushing DT...Bravo. Hopefully Marv has a bang up draft and gets an O-linemen or two in the next week - maybe we can get to 8-8 again. It made the ot of you worship TD, it will assuredly do that for you with Marv...
  18. I applaud your couragous post - too bad you can't have this kind of opinion and not get skinned by the rose colored glass wearing sheep of TBD. I certainly agree with you analysis. This team is no where near playoff ready and will take at least two good off-seasons to get there...Hopefully by May, we can call this off-season a good one...thus far, I am not so sure...
  19. Do you think Colts fans said the same for Larry Triplett? Face it, the Cards have more going for them than the Bills do....
  20. Damn straight that never will - if they aboloish the cap, there is no NFLPA pension, no free agency requirement, etc.. They will never allow that to occur...
  21. The word is the the problem is that the ownership cannot agree on sharing. The players union has a ratifiable agreement, however, there are two factions of owners, one lead by the Snyder/Jones types and the other being the Bidwell and old school types. Jones and Snyder are tired of sharing their revenue with the ownership that does nothing to market and make their franchises more profitable, (can't say that I argue with this line). The other group feels that all income to the teams is based on being an NFL franchises, therefore needs to be shared with all.... Anyway - it appears there is a CBA and players agreement in place - the owners just need to get on the same page...
  22. Do you really find this that surprising? Actually could be a reality. According to the NFL Network - they expect 4 QB's to go in the first round and the word was that the Jets really like Cutler... Also - Don't be surprised if Vince Young starts to fall...by drfat day, he may be there at 8....not that I want him, but it might make for a nice trade offer for the Bills...who I thing should trade down...
  23. I would agree with you and take the TE befopre I take Ngata. Unless Ngata has an unbelievable combine - I think 8 might be a little too high for him. Becuase he is the best option at his position does not make him a top 10 guy....
  24. I'll agree - especially on number 2. If the NCAA can put that together - the emotion of a major bowl game coupled with a do or die bracket system...would be increadible. I am a casual collage BB fan - but the March Madness keeps me coming for more. I love football and could not imagine the excitement that a NCAA 1A Bowl tourney would bring....
