  1. He's getting throttled...
  2. DT - Big One LB OG WR - Big One TE
  3. Since JP seems to have replaced TD as the root of WNY evil; - Does anyone know where JP was when that poor Aussie got hit with the sting ray? Kind of mysterious they havn't released the video huh? - JP has a controlling position in Ford Motor Company. - I understand JP has a weather machine and hates big trees... - JP interned under Foley in DC between his freshman and Sophomore years in High School. - In an effort to save his favorite watering holes in New orleans from days at Tulane, JP may have blown the levies after Hurrican Katrina. - The real estate market kind of tanked when JP purchased a home in Buffalo...coincidence? I think not. Enough already - he's a good athelete with average QB skills playing behind a woefull line with a selfish runningback to help him out....
  4. Are you kidding? So if you expected 0 - 16 - you would be OK with the level of play put forth by the team? Losing to better talent is what I expect and is totally acceptable, however, losing when the team shows little heart, and poor discipline is cause for getting up in arms... It really looks like some of the Bill's have already run for the bus this year....
  5. Does everyone really believe that the Bill's owe them a good effort? I am really not on the same page as Ralph here - I think the players and coaches owe him, the guy signing the checks a good effort. That's business. I think they guy who owe's the fans something is Marv and to a lesser extent Ralph. Marv's the guy who shopped for the groceries, (in parcell's speak), and Marv's the guy who selected the coach...Isn't he as much to blame as the unfocussed players? As for Ralph - isn't he the ultimate shot caller for the Bills? He should take ownership of the fact this team has been a perenial let down with no exit in sight. Players should be praised when doing their jobs and disciplined when they fail...but to apologize - that should be Marv's and Ralphs gig...
  6. JP will get the rest of the snaps this year. If he does not work out, it'll be the Craig Nall show and a draft choice....
  7. So - at this junction - who is the real JP? The guys who looks efficient through 4 games or the mess who makes Kyle Boller look good? I have always thought JP lacked that "it" think, however, in the right offense with structure around him, maybe he could succeed...now I have thrown that out and think that when the bullets really fly, he melts down. Guys with "it" don't melt down. At this point, I say let him ride the year out - maybe he'll show some reason to fous on other need areas next year....
  8. Some positions/player changes who might look nice and help us get to...8-8 maybe... Offense - Just opening the Vault a little for an OT... QB - Losman get's one last chance...but drafting Chad Henne in the 2nd is worth it. RB - As much as I like Adrian Peterson...Willis is good for at least one more year before the "U" blood in him boils, he goes gangster and demands a trade to a team in contention or a warmer climate. WR - With the 2nd pick in the 2007 NFL entry draft, the Buffalo Bills select Calvin Johnson, WR georgia Tech. It's nice to see Reed in Harrisons face...but I still am trying to find how many points that scored for us...We need a big receiver who can go up and "get it"...Aiken is not that man. OT - Max Starks...Steelers might try to keep him...but they were supposed to try with Randal El too.... OG - Samson Satele in the draft...Nothing like a big polynesian to displace Villarial...grabbing an experienced FA would be nice... Defense - Second tier guys mainly... DL - Jared Allen - Will be the top FA linemen made available in 2007...Say bye to Either Denney or Kelsey...or, gulp, dare we say - Schoebel...is he really that much better than Kelsey? Prediction - NO DT's will be taken or brought in. This regime has acquired three they will stick with for at least 2007. LB - Say bye London...As much as I like you - you're not making a difference...I believe they will try to move TKO to MLB....if he resists, he's as good as gone. TKO ver 2.0 is not the speedy OLB he was before...and never will be again. If the Bills do not take Johnson with the 2nd pick...don't be surprised to see Paul Posliszny brought in. FA Acquisition - Adalius Thomas and Rob Morris S - Come on now... CB - They'll draft one...maybe two, but they had better grab an Asante Smaual or David Macklin for depth... Still - with whatever moves we make...8-8 is probably asking too much...
  9. Just boring conjecture, but do you think there will be a mini-WNY baby boom in July 2007? No TV, no power, no heat...A lot of people with time on their hands....Maybe this is Gods way of repopulating WNY during this era of WNY wage-earner depopulation...
  10. Excellent analysis...I almost feel you pain, the despair and dread of another Sunday making it's way to us. Thank God for Tivo - I no longer have to waste an afternoon on this team and need to spend only 1.5 - 2 hours of my time on the game... We are indeed on a rebuilding course, I say give me a reason to watch again, give Yobouty some playing time, let JP improvise a little on offense, (dare I say...turn him loose?), etc.. What we get now on any given Sunday is a dreadfully bland team that simply does not have the horses to execute the game plan. No O-Line, too small on the D-Line, No playmaker at receiver... Hopefully, the team spends it's small fortune of cap money next year wisely...until then, I say let the kids play and let's see what what Marv has in the cupboard...
  11. Um....aaaa.....hhmmmmmm....yes.
  12. Huh? Why do you think we are so bad against the run? Ellison is way too small to do the job. They need ot bring Spikes back or a bigger LB in, move Crowell back to the weak side and sit Eillison to just spell the others as needed.
  13. Behold your future - TKO's best days are behind him. He can look forward to a future of hip, knee and hamstring problems associated to the injury last year. It is waht it is - unfortunate, but I thinking Marv will be taking a big speedy linebacker in round 1 next year...
  14. Some observations as I wonder what may have been if we had only selected Bryant McKinney... - Hat's off to Marv for his work on draft day. The man knew what he wanted and "bought it" in spite of what the well coifed Mel might think. Would Whitner have been there at 15 if we moved down...maybe, but why risk it? For those shooting at McCargo - Linemen as best left to be reviewed 2-3 years down the line. Simpson fell in our laps - thank you. - Ellison - I know everyone loves him - prototype cover 2 backer and all...but in reality, he was drafted as a special teamer. He'll be replaced in future years with someone bigger that can support the run. - Kudo's to Marv for taking the not-so-sexy Dick Jouron. For a team in dissaray, nothing better than a coach who is straight forward. Probably more important than someone who invented the greatest show on turf. we bow to your genius. - Tagging Nate Clements and NOT signing him to a long term deal were the right things to do. He's a capable starter, but not worthy of the money he thinks he is. Give Yobouty some snaps in the second half of the seaosn and get ready for business in 2007 without Nate. The Bills will be in great cap shape. (PS Nate - Your not even the best CB on this team - McGee is...). - Stroke of Luck goes to Marv for the move with Mularky - thank God he quit - not only do we lose one of our biggest problems, but Miami scoops him up. Should have played the lottery that day. - On TKO - Someone named passthepipe on the board hit this on the head - TKO has the heart of a lion, but nobody comes back to 100% from that injury. He willin all liklihood be out of a Bills uniform in 2008. Sorry. - JP - After 3 games this year, I really do not see that special something I think it takes to succeed in this league. I know it's sporting to put stas up there and correlate back to Kelly in his forst weeks or similar. Fact is - for the special one's, you saw something a couple of times a game that made you realize why they would make it in this league. I have only seen it once form JP in three games. His mechanics are better, but that certain something is missing. Maybe we can win with him, but I am leaning towards not. - I thought this was a 4-12 team staring Adrain Peterson or Brady Quinn in the eye. After the A+ draft - I think they may have 6-7 wins in them this year...certainly more fun to watch than I thought going in. - Opinions on TBD - it's amazing how we still have blinders on..."I would rather have JP than Pennington..."..."We should have more players listed int he top 50"...Etc. - you know, the team is what it is - a young team finding their way - if we had a Pennington, we would be 3-0 right now. They are headed in the right direction though. Only hope they get there before Marv or Ralph expire... - The O-Line - Better than expected, but still the weak link on this team. - Willis - Until he rounds out as a better blocker and receiver, he does not deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as Tomlinson, Alexander or James. I like the guy, but I am not sure he has the heart to be a special runningback in this league. See you next month.
  15. I think Spike's might go the way of Cowart, both the jersey and career...By Whitner, at least he'll be around for 3 years...
  16. The Bills need to earn their respect this year. Right now - to the rest of America, especially the non-football loving section, the Bills are not a sexy story or compelling in any way...They got what they earned... A nice piece on the team in January would be nice though....
  17. This is a great post. I cannot disagree with your points - I know the tax system is why many seniors/emptynesters relacate to favorable locales. Interesting oxymoron about a community trying to attract dinc's - would be a nice study on the economic realities you outline above. Anyway - the first politician that poses the idea that the transition of the American family from the husband, wife, 1.8 kids, dog and cat to the dinc family as a positive social move would be lynched as a heratic and impeached immediately. For what it's worth, nice post.
  18. From todays article on Darcy - I thought the comment on NC was relevent to this topic since someone brought up the fact that Buffalo was similar to Raleigh... And let's be clear on this. Raleigh, N.C., is not a small market the way Buffalo's a small market. The populations might be similar, but there's plenty of cash flowing throughout the Research Triangle. The 'Canes have room to increase ticket prices. The Sabres must deal with the economic realities of Western New York, oppressive as they are. Free spending would be the surest way to undermine the franchise.
  19. in no particular order; - Retention of young and upwardly mobile professionals - Property Taxes that are in agreement with what you get for such high taxes. - Good paying jobs not tied to a union association - Stable local government - with the ability to bring in Fortune 500 companies I am assuming you live there - have you not noticed that real estate is catching up to the rest of the world? Granted it is not NYC or LA, nor should it be, but Real Estate in WNY is not the bargain it once was. As this cost escalates - the taxes come along for the ride. It is no longer a great deal. Look - I like WNY as much as the next native, but denying the fact that the economy there is not only stagnant, but declining is blind to the problem.
  20. I remember those days weel - still followed them, but did not have many expectations. I think expectations for the NFl product have gone up as much as those of Bills fans. There is enough of a level playing field that your city should be successful if the organization is competent enough...There in lies the rub - I would have though winning would be contageous to ralph and crew...
  21. I really do not think the economy of WNY is improving. I think this is more of a case that people in WNY budget for the tickets. There is a tie there that is uncommon is most other cities - people will make sacrifices to be able to go to a game. Says a lot about the fan base. I think a true berometer of the area would be to raise the ticket prices to match those in other more vibrant economies and see the impact to ticket sales. I think Bills ttickets in WNY are like gas to the rest of the world - you might B word about prices, but you will buy it no matter what the cost...
  22. Didn't we draft a guy with Top 5 Talent in the first round who had a totally blown knee? I say a flier in the 7th is a pretty good risk for first round talent....
  23. Has anyone here watched this guy? Everyone has an aponion on him. From the three games I saw him play, I think he is more about untapped potential than out of the box skills. He rarely showed on the radar, but when he did, it was a "Wow" play. I like the guy, but not at the 8th overall. Mike Williams would have fallen in the same category as Ngata and I have not forgotten that bad experience...
  24. I am not a TD fan...But it seems awful hard to screw this pick up.....
