When thinking about all the anti-Buffalo bashing
Kipers Hair replied to Cornerville's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think a lot of Buffalonians like to rip on Buffalo too. A lot of people who cal buffalo home like to use the city as a scape goat for their current lot in life. I am not trying to denegrate, however, I have seen it too many times for it to be conincidence. A lot of friends of mine still in the area agree that the general populus feeds the cumulative inferiority complex of the region. Anyway, please nobody take this out of context - I love the area, but firmly believe that "we" are our own worst nightmare... -
If I might add - How about that "Swaggert the Whoremonger" guy? Weren't you accused of being him?

How tough was our schedule this year?

According to some ranking I saw - we had the toughest in the league this year... -
My plan to fix our run defense
Kipers Hair replied to Commander's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Danial Snyder...Is that you? I think if we work it right, we might be able to fix the passing game in a foul swoop too - move Willis to the Raiders for Justin Fargus, (good compliment to the A Train) and Randy Moss - that big target we have been dying for. Now we fixed the run defense and the passing game...high five! -
I just read the Time's Union article about Ko Simpson, (nice feel good read) where the author cited the Bills secondary as being one of 5 that has not allowed an opponent to pass for over 300 yards this year. Looking at most of the games - I thought, who has to throw for 300 yards when you can control the clock and run for 200? I am sure there are a game or two out there where we did a decent job of run defense, but I really think in our case, our poor run defense contributed at least as much as our secondary to this haughty sounding defensive rallying point...

Trade McGahee to the Giants for a #1.

This should be entertaining - Drew R seems to think Willis has been one of the better RB's in the NFL the past 3 years. There is a reference to Edgerinne James type money...Not on your life. Willis is a capable NFL running back, but the facts remain - No Pro Bowls, Never lead the lead in rushing, TD production low compared ot the elite backs of the league. Willis does deserve a new contract - I think money commensurate with a Rudy Johnson or maybe Thomas Jones...but not James, Tomlinson, Portis or Johnson money. This will be entertaining to watch...

You know - with the achilles injury - 30 is a huge deal - remember his tendons have 8 years playing at the pro level....It is asking a lot to come back at 90% let alone 100%...That said, I'll take TKO at 90% at his current salary...

Clements or Fletcher: Who do you keep?
Kipers Hair replied to el Tigre's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Clements - he's only 27 and has at least 5 good one's left. I think Fletcher owuld be a greta fit in Indy to make a run at another title... -
So you think that paying Spikes AND Fletcher top dollar to train their replacements would work? These guys both want to go and compete, not train. I think we have coaches that can train the players. The experience is going to have to come from Shobel, Bowen and othe established professionals. Somehow i do not think Ralph is going to open the cauffers to rtain players to train others...

Better than Crowell? That's high praise for a Safety sized LB. I like what I have seen, but it's critical for him to add 15-20lbs and keep the speed....
-
If we are going to let him go - why wait? I say let the embattled warrior go to a team where a situational linebacker can help out. As it stands, he really does not have the range any longer to be anything but a run stuffer playing on the weak-side. Ellison has more up side.

Pre Season Predictions
Kipers Hair replied to Navy Chief Navy Pride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
3-13...and happily wrong. -
With all of today's news of Ralph crosing about big markets squeezing "us out", maybe it's time to really look at what Ralph is saying rather than chastise and B word about it. Maybe having an NFL Franchise in a city requires the city or region to do some special things to ensure they stay - buy tickets and attend meaningless games, ie, support the team, pay higher taxes, etc.. You can't go to LA or NY and swing a dead cat without hitting a 5 star restaurant. In Buffalo, I think there is one...somewhere. It looks like the NFL has evolved form a blue collar sport into a white collar luxery item that has outgrown some of it's original markets. It's unfortunate, but true. Some cities eveolved through time and were able to grow with the League, Buffalo unfortunately did not. I think there is a harsh reality that everyone might have to swallow - Buffalo is no longer an NFL city. You have to know that the Danial Snyder's and Jerry Jone's of the world look down at Buffalo. Hell - when I lived in Buffalo and told people I did, I often got the "why" response. Don't you think that powers in the league feel that way? I think this is a losing battle being waged by the good people of WNY and fans abroad....

interesting article in ESPN mag
Kipers Hair replied to tornado681's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That is actually pretty interesting, but how did they account for "immesurables" such as morale, (not making the TD/1st Down), for both teams, scorer and scoree? A missed opportunity can be devestating to a team and a big boost to the defending team when they succeed in stopping the other team...Anyway, I will read that one... -
Yeah...he sucks...?????
-
Do you really think he is not good? OK - He runs...and succeeds, owever, he is pretty accurate and has a quick release. The guy is going to get to Hawaii a couple of times before he is done...
-
What's the gripe here? Of course the game is blacked outif they fail to sell out. If they could show these games, the stadium would only be half full all the time...$200 Sunday ticket vs what 2.5 times that for the cheapest seasons...I don't get it....The ticket is good for FOOTBALL fans in general - not just Bills fans in the local area.... Is this another case of Bills fan conspiracy theorist rampage?

The once great TKO credited for 0.5 tackles today. How much did that 1/2 tackle cost us today? He'll look nice in a Redskin's Uni next year....
