Since this regime is apparently in an evaluate mode with regards to talent and they are not putting Maybin or McCargo on the field…why are these two even on the roster any longer? To embarrass them maybe - like locking a man in the stockade to allow the angry masses to throw rotting veggies at them? (Which is akin to what we do on this board on days like this...). Seriously, wouldn’t it be more advisable to get some practice team fodder you are hopeful of one day contributing? Face it, McCargo is a goner and Maybin is an embarrassment…why delay the inevitable?

What's Going On with Both OL and DL?
Kipers Hair replied to Throwback Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He's seeing what he has to work with. I think he fully understands, the Bills are a 2-3 year proposition and he is using live games to see what he has to work with...Poor thing must be realixing by now the situation is worse than he thought.... -

5) The players play a little worse as they have nothign to feed off of. (If that is possible...and I think it is).

Time frame for a turnaround?
Kipers Hair replied to Bills fan in TX's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Since you asked: This year - Evaluate what is on the roster and implement "your" system(s)...draft guys that will fill your system needs...throughout the course of the year, give guys a shot and clear the roster of people who do not meet your long term needs... [season wins - 0 to 2] 2011 - Draft need area guys - includes OT, LB and QB. If you can, sign strategic free agent types where you can. NOTE - I would not be the least bit surprised to see this regime pass on a QB in the 1st round if they think they can get one in the 2nd or in the 2012 draft...just saying. [season wins 2-4] 2012 - Draft to fill in the holes that we still have...[season wins 6-8] Hopefully conted by 2013? By the way, this is a sad timeline as we operate in an era of parody in the NFL.... -
testify Tennessee Boy - I am with you. The Bills are so perplexing - most any fan with some real football intellegence would have assembled a better roster...and I mean it. I would not have wasted a dime of Ralph's money on Aaron Maybin or Ryan Fitzpatrixck for that metter - I would have chased Vick, (to hell with the animal advocates out there - how about giving a guy a second chance?), would have taken Clay Matthews or Brian Orakpo instead of Maybin and would have drafted a big OT and DT on the 1st, 2nd or 3rd rounds in each of the past 4 years...that is where the game is won - not on RB's in the 1st rounds in 2 of the past 4 drafts. Face it - a senile old man is playing out his years playing fantasy football at the pro level...

Seriously, I am not trying to muck it up or anything, but why the clamoring for Brady Quinn, Alex Smith, etc.? Perhaps giving Brohm a shot is fine I mean he is on the roster, but reaching out for another teams garbage is ridiculous at this point. With garbage at the OT position were people crying out for trying to get Cornell Green? This is tantamount to what you are doing banging the war drums for Smith or Quinn. Stop it already - are you trying to light a fire and win…what, 2, 3 games? For what purpose? None is better than Fitzpatrick, (and thats not a cry of advocacy for Fitzy mind you hes a back-up at best). I just find it mind blowing that people are chasing some interim solution at QB when this team has more vital interim needs say OT, pass rushing LB, (Hell…any LB for that matter)…I would hazard a guess if the Colts decided to trade Payton Manning to the Bills tomorrow they would still be no better than a 3 win team thats it. You want immediate impact for the 2010 season Ill let you in on a little secret THERE IS NONE!!! Your administration is doing a gut check of what players are viable for the future and retooling according to their tastes. Sit back and enjoy the carnia this current version of the Bills will win 4 games over the next two years the most you can hope for is a spark next year….

Really? I saw him involved. As far as rookie DT's go, you get next to nothing in year 1 - even the elite one's. I wanted linval Jospeh ahead of Troup, but let's not get silly here - rookie DT's for the most part are projects. Now, if you want to flog a Bill, let's discuss, (in no particular order), Maybin, Puslusny, Green, any TE, or perhaps an administrator is more suitable - say Modrak? I myself am going with Poz as he is still heralded as some form of capable inside backer. Look - he get's numbers, but of the pushed a guy out and dragged down field type...in other words, he hits "lightly". Most inside backers should be a lights out hitter - Poz simply is not. And to his pass coverage abilities...please, I am wishing for Ray Bently here. Really - why does everyone love him so? Watch another game...most any other game and queue on their insider backer(s) - any one of them...I almost guaranty you will see more.

I will give you that whitner would start on about 10 NFL teams out there, but to hail him as somehting beyond average is fool hardy. When you couple this mediocrity with where he was selected to come in to the league, he is a let down. As to our LB corp, simply the worth in the NFL. I know Poz sells a lot of jerseys, but he simply is not good. He is steady, but not close to a play maker or leader in the least bit. Funny, I watched the 49'ers game yesterday - I would trade Poz and a 4th for TKO in a heartbeat...
-
Oddly enough, I found myself wearing one while watching the recorded game last night in my office...just in case the neighbors looked in.... In all sincerity, this team has bottomed out, but will remain there for another couple of years... Clearly devoid of talent - everyone not showing will do nothing to fix it soon...

What Happens when Ralph Wilson dies ?
Kipers Hair replied to I hate the Bills !'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It does if you are looking at the inheritance....$200MM doesn't mean much...that's rich... -
I wonder what the same scouts said about Brian Orakpo or Clay Mathews... we played the if/come card with maybin and lost...face it, it was anot a gamble worth taking at the time...2nd round or late 1, perhaps...

Well, I believe the trust is required to maximize the asset - therefore, the highest bid maximizes for the estate.... -
Agreed - when he took the job, he brought this plague upon himself....

I think each fan determines their own tipping point. I myself tipped over 2 years ago when I killed the NFL ticket as a means to stop feeling required to watch the Bills as they are not an organization you can feel good about being committed to winning. From what I saw in the stadium last Sunday (yeah - being from WNY, I go back every blue moon and feel compelled to go to a game), the only tipping most of the prepubescent Bills loyalists know is the mini kegs they sip freely from at 9AM...or over themselves by halftime as they have imbibed a bit too much...

His estate sells the team to the highest bidder and the new owner gets to answer where he wants the team...pending NFL approval, (from what I understand, a foregone conclusion mind you), and off they go. City of Industry has a nice new vacant home being built I here...I am sure the NFL is already working on the logistics of this issue... All the while, the fine blue collared citizens of WNY reach for the KY...err, I mean wallets to support a pipedream of keeping the franchise local...And so it is writen... -

You sir - are a true Bills fan...keep the faith, I only hope you are one day rewarded. I myself, have checked in to the hotel reality and have stopped investing any hope in this team. I am hoping you have the last laugh... -
Bills guilty of trash talk???

As I understand it, it was some of our defense commenting on how we picked him off 5 times in one game...that's all... -
An Observation from the game
Kipers Hair replied to Catholic Guilt's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I used to hold out hope you are right, but really, if you think everything going on within this organization is a perfect storm of futility and just the result of error...well, let's just see what time delivers. Again, I am a fan back to my first game in 1980, but I have no reason to not believe what I hear and what I see manifested in reality. -
Are you serious with this idea? If so, the bowling ball shots were something you endorsed as well i would presume. Look, there is nothing - repeat, nothing you can do to change the teams lot in the NFL today. All of the good will from the 90's has been burned and the Wilson family is frankly cold to the franchise. I really pity three entities in this whole mess; 1. The Bills Fans - face it, you think delaying your apearance at a game will make a difference - commendable, you remind me of the foolish strip club patron who believes he is helping the girl attain a better life - led to believe you somehow make a difference only to one day realize, she never really loved you. 2. The Bills front office - They know the hard truth, and yet show up to work each day with a mask of a smile. I have run 2 companies off prior to and after a sale - I know what they are going through and it isn't pretty...yet they have to show up with a can do attitude...and yes, this includes the coaching staff. Talk about the walking dead. 3. The Bills players - brought in under the auspices of finally making it to the big time only to find out the team they are on simply is practice fodder for real NFL teams. I am sure it's tough to get out of bed on a Sunday morning with a defeated body and mind, but to get up for a game...come now. All deserve our pity and unabashed support. So please, go to the game on time, cheer on the players - at least 2 of the 3 parties can feel alive...if not for 3 hours at a pop each week...

Does this front office know how to make a trade?

Hope so - the Eagles are calling for a RB today... -
Well, you could hope that the Bills got lucky and Ralph stops being the owner...

An Observation from the game
Kipers Hair replied to Catholic Guilt's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Los Angeles. My understanding from some folks within the Corporate world of the NFl is that the league has already "silently" given their blessing to whomever takes this team post Ralph, to move the team. They were hoping the Toronto experiment would be more of a success, but as they see it, the futility of the Bills coupled with a Toronto media biased against the Bills/NFL has clearly indicated the investment should be in more viable markets in the US and not abroad yet. Anyway - LA is the runaway favorite for a number of reasons.... Money - corporate sales, jerseys, t-shirts, etc.. Ticket sales really are not the boon they were years ago...it's the things having an NFL franchise brings you that generate the wealth...I really believe Ralph views Buffalo as a lost cause today....he cannot compete with the big city owners who draw more revenue from sponsorships and boxes in a 60K seat stadium that Ralph makes over 2 seaosn in Buffalo. Selling out is an over rated and inaccurate barometer these days... -
An Observation from the game
Kipers Hair replied to Catholic Guilt's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My first game in three years, (and last for at least that long)...anyway, I agree - while I will always be amazed at the attendance, the passion is totally gone. most of the yelling going on was from drunken collage aged girls who would not know a football from a footstool...see, while the game was going on, they were more engaged in yelling at the Jet fans and calling the Jet players "gay".... Anyway, Bills nation appears to accept the fact that the team is bad and uses the game day as an experience to get hammered and yell. I really believe however, the lack of corporate buying power will see this team gone by 2014....
