  1. Happy to eat crow everyone - taste's kind of like chicken. They are better than I thought they could be - when you look at the composition of the roster, it defies conventional wisdom...but we have it, the exception to the rule...and strangely enough in a city that somewhat defies conventional wisdom as well. Oh, and I am flattered so many were ready with the "I told you so" ... reminder actually of mea culpa. Again, the crow is not bad, best on the grill or if you must, deep fried and shaken with a mixture of Franks Hot Sauce and Butter.
  2. Always thought this to be true. I believe the NFL is the only major league without a place for younger inexperienced players to go to get seasoning. In the long run, it makes for a better product - coaching as well as players. Also, the league can test out new rules in there to further develop the product. I say, up the UFL to 8 teams, financially supported by the NFL and NFLPA, (benefits them too) and allow each team to stock four developmental players for a max of two years...
  3. When Williams returns, it might not be a half bad idea to fold in a LOT more 4/3 defense. To anyone watching, it was plain to see that Darius is way more comfortable working in the trenches as opposed to in space as a DE needs to. I know there is something to be said for Washington's weak interior OL, but he just seemed more juiced playing the interior. With our marginal LB talent - would it be to bad to, as they say, get your best 11 out there?
  4. I am admittedly late to the dance here, but to call the article garbage is as unfair as, well the article in some respects. No one will doubt that Sullivan writes with an eye on selling papers, but there is always a modicum of truth in what he writes. Do I think Lights Out was a difference maker on the field meriting the money paid - not even close. That said, in subtle ways, he had some values. As to Nix's draft and free agent record - at this time, i am leaning towards Sullivan's notions - we simply have a few too many failures for a team of our ilk - we have high draft choices who continually underperform - pleasant surprises of today were not Nix's doing...
  5. Look for a big game from....CJ Spiller.
  6. If it were in the Ralph - probably an 8 point spread. I do not think this is a gimme by any stretch, however, we should beat them, maybe not covering the spread though.
  7. Injuries really hurt our ability on both sides of the ball....
  8. I watched the replay the other night and he stuck out like a sore thumb...damn he was impressive for a Rookie.
  9. Marriott Courtyard is right by the stadium...you can walk there polus it is close to the airport and restaurants... It's half way between dallas and Fort Worth...Though for fun - go to Fort Worth and the Stock Yards....forget Dallas proper. Those of you using Tripit, Priceline, Hotwire - look out - there are A LOT of crappy hotels in and around the stadium...you don't want to be in the wrong place....trust me, you had better kick the tires real hard on where you stay. I used to live in there - dont be caught in the wrong place...
  10. I read something in SI about this - the writer said it takes 2 weeks lead time to change...needless to say, if the Bills continue, they will get more Naitonal press. I hope they show well this week - I understand they are the national show for CBS!
  11. Don't like this game for the following reasons: * We're too thin at WR now - this will force us into more a conventional attack. * Pierre Paul is a beast and will make Fitzpatrick's day a long and miserable one. Like it for the following: * Giants D Line is nicked up * Eli can be rattled Going with the gut here - sorry Giants 27 Bills 13
  12. The guy can be good...in watchin gthe video, did you notice he had to make a ton of adjustments on the passes thrown to him...with a more accurate passer, his RAC should improve...
  13. Kyle Williams...based on what, reputation?
  14. I thought we matched up well against the Eagles...however...the Giants, not so much. We'll have problems with their running game and D-Line....and dare I say, if you give Eli time, he can carve us up. I am not saying this is a slam dunk for the Giants, but I do think, unless someone steps up at WR and forces their safety(s) out of the box...things dont look so good for this coming week...Early guess, 27 - 13 Giants.
  15. Can we give the 4th rounder back for Evans? He would be nice right around now...
  16. My friend, attempting to employ logic here is a losing proposition. I tend to agree that you cannot keep living on the edge and coming away a winner. I am excited the Bills are better than advertised, but inside I know this will end sooner or later....but I am hoping later...as in after a win in the playoffs! I really believe - if they fold in some frsh new talent as it matures, (read Sheppard and Hairston at RT), we will continue to improve...and at the rate we are going, we are going to need it since we won't be drafting in the top 10 next year...
  17. Kipers Hair: Buffalo 37 - Philadelphia 24. Yes, I am an expert.
  18. I think this week is funny - every pick I have seen so far is for the Eagles...and the really funny part, me the pessimists pessimist thinks the Bills will actually win and do so with relative ease - something to the tune of 37 to 24... Maybe I had some KoolAide spilled on me, but looking at this thing for the Bills: Philly's inside OL and DL are about as bad as there is in the NFL...and just as luck has it, Buffalo's interior OL and DL are the strength of each unit... Philly's LB corp is a mess...Buffalo's running AND passing game, when firing on all cylinders has been tough for a good LB corp to handle... Bills have a rookie starting an LT...Uh Oh...wait, the Eagles best pass rusher is out... I know, Vick is going to be Vick and run wild and we need to account for shadey McCoy, but pullign a Jaworski here, the match-ups favor Buffalo.... Color me stupid, but this might actually be fun Sunday...
  19. I was just reading the USATODAY's QB power rankings - giving Fitzparick a nice 5 rating by the way...and noted they said he was the AFC offensive player of the month for September...when was this announced? If so - how did he end up ahead of Captain Americ...errr Brady? Great kudo's for Fitzpatrick either way...
  20. Mr Ghost - you simply don't know me well enough. I have been touting this same stuff for a while. I think the team is headed in the right direction, but they are middle of the road right now..mind you, compared to the past 8 years - middle of the road is a drastic improvement and all I could ask given how bare the shelves have been at OBD. Skies far from falling, but if you think this is a solid team, I respectfully disagree and ask we wait until Halloween for confirmation. I sincerely hope I am dining on crow and washing it down with KoolAide, but I think it more likely to be a KitKat from the kids Halloween bag...
  21. Going into the season, I thought the Je(s)ts an 8 and 8 team and never got on the national bandwagon. I think they may be fortunate to get there. Definitie shift in the AFC (this year at least). Gone are the Colts and Jets and in are...the Texans and Chargers and...Raiders...Sorry Bills, I think we are still one year away. Next year however, I think with one good draft and free agency period, we are ready to be a consistent playoff level team...
  22. Ah - well there are some that would challenge the notion...in fact, I think last week someone ran the numbers and readily got to 14-2 with homefield throughout the playoffs. It is to this end I scratch my head and wonder what record Rasputin would have projected for our beloved Bills...
  23. Excellent analysis. Hard to refute the numbers.
  24. "Faith" may be the appropriate descriptor as Bills fandom has somewhat a religious quality about it as opposed to that based in proven science if you will.
