Mario Williams: Officially a Buffalo Bill
Kipers Hair replied to buffalo_bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
well deserved at that.... -
Buffalo has talked to Mario Manningham- Per shefter
Kipers Hair replied to Deep2Moulds46's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In the event Easley is healthy...Manningham will not really add much value to the roster... -
Got to agree - even if they meet their pursuit of these high priced guys with total failure, Nix has made his bones. He has a plan and is trying to build a winner...though, the true test is what they dso when they hit a roadblock, say the targets of their millions going elsewhere. Either way, Nix can stay a while...

Mario Williams: Officially a Buffalo Bill

I hate to admit it, but this is what happens when you have a nice city and a state tax friendly place to work - people will go there over a Buffalo, Detroit or Cleveland. Personally, the Bills have BETTER talent than Tampa...frankly, a better front office. Problem is todays athlete wants it their way and on their terms. Until the Bills have a couple of All Pro level players on the roster, recruiting to Buffalo is tough...real tough.

Official Free Agent prediction thread
Kipers Hair replied to Toshiero's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think the Bills make a serious run at Mario Williams or Vincent Jackson. I do think they will look hard at and sign a couple of the following: OT - Eric Winston, Dametrious Bell, Jared Gaither WR - Robert Meacham, Early Daucet, Laurent Robinson LB - Channing Crowder (I know retired...but watch) CB - Brandon Carr, Courtland Finnigan -
Why is it that we feel good about celebrating people's failure here? T.O. was in ill prepared to handle the success he found himself in and is now a wreck. It's a shame - that's it, but to take some form of "Karma" position on this is an equal shame to his. If we are being all holier than thou, how many of you thought good riddence to Whitney Houston...I mean she was a junkie who wasted her God given talents...perhaps more so than T.O. ever has...but we "celebrate" her and kick T.O....

I read from the Bills site that they interviewed with RGIII. I dont ask why because I dont like him, (would love him), but to be perfectly honest, we dont have the bullets to compete with the other suiters for the 2 pick... Why waste their and his time interviewing - to further tease themselves?

Good luck selling tickets next year!
Kipers Hair replied to BuffaloWest's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
See...this I agree with. I'll make a trip or two there - regardless of record to take it all in, hang with folks I dont get to see too often any more. The game serves as an excuse to get together...and B word. That's all it is now. -
Does Fitz owe Chan a big Bonus!

check back after that roster bonus is triggered... -
In order for me to even watch the Bills next year....
Kipers Hair replied to Rayzer32's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How about if they: * Bring in Matt Flynn (Fitz Competition) * Draft a Franchise type receiver - who is not grabbing headlines for the wrong reasons * Get a healthy Fred Jackson back - Who was a leader in the lockerroom and stats sheet... Me - I gave them a soft write off a couple of years ago when I quit buying the NFL ticket because they suck and have no desire to get it until the Bills do something that get's me excited about them again.... -
I agree with you and I think this is why the new owner is putting on his "we're staying in FLA face". On the flip side, I really believe the Bills are not in WNY - as soon as 2015.... The way the league is going it has outgrown Buffalo and our perpetual mediocrity, (if we are even that good). When it occurs, I believe the other owners will approve a relocation of the franchise.... I don't have sources deep within the organization or anything like that, just a feeling that when the old man dies, it's all over....

The Last laugh is on the Dolfans
Kipers Hair replied to bisonbrigade's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is Buffalo NY rationalization at it's best. We lost the game, but we won...in some convoluted manner that nobody outside of WNY can quantify or fathom. It's this same rationalization that people use when the world points at Buffalo and mocks (in no particular order) - the weather, the economy, the local government, the sports teams. WNY-er's respond with - Our housing is cheap, we have the best fans in the world, it's a great place to raise a family, etc., oblivious to the fact that (1) housing is cheap because there is no local economy and nobody wants to live there (2) the fans are great, but so are millions of others in similar socioeconomic regions who's identity is crafted by their local sports teams (3) EVERY region/city has excellent school systems and places to raise a family... The snap response of "we won" is just another reflex from a well forged inferiority complex only found in Buffalo. Sports are about Wins and Losses - not some convoluted we get the better pick...this team sucks right now and there is no solution in sight when you consider our best WR is on the runway out of here and we have yet to figure out how to stop the run...Stop it with this meaningless win garbage. By the way - I am from WNY and like it there - but this hidden gem idea native WNY-er's have crafted for Buffalo is second only to the Nazi's big lie.... -
RGIII will be there when we pick at 7 next year.... The notion of building around a 30+ year old running back is rediculous as well. I would like to see us keep Action Jackson on principle alone - pay the man. That said, it would not be an effort to build around him, as I said, a reward for his hard work. BUT - we all know, the Bills do not reward talent with money - they ship it off for draft picks...Bye Freddie...bye Stevie...bye Eric Wood and Marcel Darius (whenever your contracts expire...)...

"Suck my Unit" - Kirk Lazarus, (Robert Downy Jr), Tropic Thunder... -
Easley said doctors have cleared him to resume his football career next season. The fourth-round draft pick in 2010 missed all of his rookie season with a knee injury and has missed all of his second NFL year due to a heart ailment that forced the Bills to put him on the injured reserve list right after the season opener. Easley confirmed the heart condition but would not get specific about it and would not say whether he had any surgical procedure to address it. "When it first came about it was so random, it came out of nowhere," Easley said. "I've been cleared to play again. Everything's positive and I'll be back." And on the Bad news front, of course - the Bills will let Stevie Johnson walk...

THIS is proof that coaching matters in the NFL
Kipers Hair replied to Got_Wood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is where I fall as well - there are coaches who innovate, but when the game plan is figured out, they are reluctant to change and start banging the "We have to execute better" drum as opposed to making changes in response to the opposition to keep your opponent off balance. From what I have seen, Gailey is adept at building something, but is slow to react to what the other team is doing when the bullets start flying. -
Tony Sparano Fired As Dolphins Head Coach

This just means that another division opponent is about to sign a John Gruden or Jeff Fischer to match whits with Gailey and Co...it suddenly got a little colder in upstate NY... -
4th round pick for Evans looks like a steal

Or, we can get diamonds in the rough like Derek Fine, Dwayne Wright or the venerable Duke Preston... -
THIS is proof that coaching matters in the NFL
Kipers Hair replied to Got_Wood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You're absolutely right - good coaches take the talent they have and deploy it in a way to get the most out of it...and hopefully win. I know St Tebow gets most of the credit - but John Fox should be coach of the year - the ship was sinking and he installed an offense not seen in the NFL for 30 years because that was the only was they had a chance to win. If Tebow was in Buffalo - this message board would be shouting for his head because he would suck in Chan's spread offense.... -
4th round pick for Evans looks like a steal
Kipers Hair replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The title of this post may well be the highlite of the season for the Bills...stealing a 4th rounder from Baltimore. -
Don't discourage your child from being a football fan - the sport is a great one...i would however let them pick the team they support on their own...don't influence them to folow the Bills, that would be tantamount to child abuse.
-
I know I will regret this, but I'll bite...just what on earth would you be trying to accomplish? Much like the 99 %ers, not sure what the action is trying to accomplish other than "occupying" something because others are doing it to... All right, I dont even know what you want to accomplish, it's just plain stupid.
-
Here here..."F" the Bills - they no longer are even playing hard. An embarrassing team to support - frankly, just leave WNY and let people get on with life...enough feeling the dread of them leaving every season and wanting to believe in something that has no purpose other than to make money for some old guy who checked out long ago...
