To another poster's point - This team really needs a Shawn Merriman or similar in the locker room....someone with the onions to smash the stereo and send a message. At this point, I am not sure that person is on the roster. I was hoping Marcell would be the guy, but he seems more the quiet type than fiery leader. If I were the Bills, I would seriously consider bringing a Merriman back just to instill some leadership.... He might be rich, but from what it appears, Mario is a nice role player and more a baffoon than leader...

Exactly my point. My concern really is that this administration cannot identify talent. From what I have seen - they would not have given Spiller an opportunity were nit not for Jacksons injury....Same for TJ Graham - he was the only guy who looked like an NFL receiver last weekend. I say let Sheppard play to figure out what we have....

I keep reading about how the 'stach went into the gameplan Sunday with our starting Middle LInebacker, (the guy who calls the D and arranges the players), essentially not being a part of the game plan. Is Sheppard really that unimportant as to have a plan the comfortably puts this guy on the sidelines for 90% of the plays? Not even going to touch Partrick Willis, but can you imagine respective defenses building a game plan that leaves Brian Urlacher, Jon Beason, Jarron Mayo or even an aging Ray Lewis on the sidelines? I like Sheppard, but if he is truly this one dimensional, we need to find a more capable inside backer - Gronkowsi will be around for the next 10+ years and obviously, we don't feel good about what we have in Sheppard.

But what about Maria Williams? Perhaps he'll leave the fat wallet behind and get faster?

Phil Hansen???? Please, I would take Phil Hansen in a minute over this guy. I am sorry, but he is more a poor man's Albert Haynesworth....He is not elite - merely a complementary member of the line who happens to be the highest paid guy. Mark Anderson is arguably worth more than Mario. Frankly - straight up, Anthony Hargrove would be better....

...And next week, after the 49-ers bury the last of this man's hope, we'll hear the first cry for Ralph to sell or pass....

In 101 passing plays with Williams rushing, he has 1.5 sacks (PFF disputes the half-sack, claiming the sack should belong solely to tackle Marcel Dareus), with one additional quarterback hit and six pressures. In three games, he has been double-team-blocked on four of the 101 passing plays, and chip-blocked (another blocker, a tight end or running back usually, helping momentarily while performing another task) another seven times. That means, according to PFF, that on 11 of 101 pass plays (11 percent), teams have devoted more than one blocker to Williams, at least for a short time with a chip. Williams, at 292 pounds, has never been a cat-quick rusher, and therefore not likely to get as many sacks as a quicker rusher such as DeMarcus Ware. That's bearing out this season. For the Bills to get their money's worth, he has to hit the quarterback much more often. And for that to happen, he has to vary his rush technique but always rely the most on power. Toronto. Unless you wife is from the hamlet of Dolgeville NY, it's become apparent that Buffalo have little in the way of big city entertainment to anyone. As far as I can tell, there is nothing to do here besides eat (local foods only...and dont tell me how great the Chop House is....it's not), play smoe golf and go to the Bills game..then go home....
