  1. Wait I thought "retreads" were the risky path that a GM and coach should be "called out" for and not "given a mulligan." If they would have hired Norv Turner (the worst coach in NFL history when looking at tenure and winning percentage) you would be happier? What is the risk? Morrone was an OC. Hackett and Morrone will work together on adapting the K-Gun offense back into the NFL. Pettine has a ton of NFL experience on some of the top defensive units in NFL history. (Remember when the mid 2000 Ravens were being compared as a better defense than the 85 bears? I think also set a record or came close to lowest number of points allowed in a season) So where is this heightened risk? PpppplLllllttttt! It is sooooo F'in stupid to criticize new hires. This thread and Jerry Sullivan's article is a waste of time. I knew I should have ignored this crap.
  2. "we were having a ball and we went back to her house and it was full of bean bags. . .and thats when I was a jerk and I was like . . we're not in South East Asia" I soiled myself. orange peanut
  3. Actually Sweed was in Tomlin's Dog House. Tomlin didn't think Sweed put in the work. He never got out of the Dog House. As his considerable physical gifts are only working out to pedestrian stats in the much weaker CFL maybe there was a real effort issue there since he never caught on with another NFL team.
  4. What is worse is when you call them out and they try to weasel their way out. If you're were wrong just say you wrong. I was wrong about Coochie and Von Miller, I'm not afraid to say it. I was also correct about a lot of other stuff too. You can't always bat a 1,000.
  5. I thought Devin Thomas was the hard one. Yeah Sweed was on the roster for the 2009 Super Bowl.
  6. I liked Sweed and he is still better than James Hardy. Turns out Jordy Nelson was the cream of the second round crop. What's crazy is 3 of them have Super Bowl rings. Can you name the 3? 233St. Louis RamsDonnie AveryWRHoustonC-USA 234 Washington Redskins Devin Thomas WR Michigan State 236 Green Bay Packers Jordy Nelson WR Kansas State Big 12 from New York Jets 241 Buffalo Bills James Hardy WR IndianaBig Ten 242 Denver Broncos Eddie Royal WR Virginia TechACC 246 Cincinnati Bengals Jerome Simpson WR Coastal Carolina Big South 248Washington RedskinsFred DavisTEUSCPac-10from Houston via Atlanta 249 Philadelphia Eagles DeSean Jackson† WR CaliforniaPac-10 251Washington RedskinsMalcolm KellyWROklahomaBig 12 253Pittsburgh SteelersLimas SweedWRTexasBig 12 258Tampa Bay BuccaneersDexter JacksonWRAppalachian S 1.) Its not the practice squad 2.) This must also be in the future as it says Sweed played 6 seasons in the CFL plus 3 seasons in the NFL. Maybe its in Canadian years or something.
  7. I'm !@#$ing hopeful about this young coaching staff. I like the potential of Marrone & his young Nathaniel Hackett. I like the K-Gun roots of the offense. I like the focus on speed as in operational speed not player speed. I think Pettine is a strong hire. As long as he is not a "system" guy but is smart enough to use the blocks he has now to come up with an attacking scheme of defense. The difference between a 3-4 and 4-3 base is deteriorating in the NFL. I don't want to see another ill-conceived transition. Which Pettine atleast says he agrees with; more Hope. And I HATE THAT I am hopeful about this. I Hate it! I don't want to be hopeful anymore I want to see a winning record and go to a playoff game.
  8. You sure about this "always"? This millennium Norv Turner hasn't had much success anywhere at any position. Its amazing he still in the NFL.
  9. Norv Turner is just as untalented as an OC. Both Wannstache and Tuner owe Jimmy Johnson their livelihood and reputation. Neither have done much since the good ole Dallas Dynasty Days and judging by results it seems that they weren't too important in the whole mix. My guess is Norv is **** canned by Chuddy in less than 3 years. This much more similiar to the Wannstache situation. Although Trent Richardson is an old school R B and all Turner knows is old school offense.
  10. http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/M/MarrDo20.htm 6'5" 269 playing weight. Darryl Johnston was his teammate. http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/J/JohnDa00.htm
  11. I think its more likely the Pats trade Mallet for a 2nd or 3rd than they are not sold on Mallet. Brady hasn't shown any signs of slowing and Mallet is going into the 3 year of a 4 year, 3rd round rookie contract that would be really cheap for the team that acquired him. Yeah and this draft is the weakest draft in the last 3 or 4 years. So this time of year is even more borring. IMO the draftees at the end of the 1st round in 2013 look like 3rd round picks in 2011.
  12. That would only happen if the Bills were in exact Sync with the rest of the NFL. Just because we took the 5th QB doesn't mean we took the 5th best QB. The Bills rate Tyler Bray higher than any of the QBs and take him at #41 and think they got the deal of the draft. Also the real focus is on incremental differences. Is there a big difference between Tyler Wilson and Landry Jones? I mean really? So again, if you don't think one of them is the "man" then you need to come up with ones you are comfortable with to develop in the second and ones you are uncomfortable to develop in the second.
  13. It doesn't look like the CBS draft grades are out yet. Maybe they put the number on them after the combine.
  14. I think 8 QBs in teh first 25 picks is outlandish in 2013. That being said I can see a QB run at the Top of the 2nd that could leave the Bills out in the cold. LIKE EVERY YEAR regardless of the "EXPERTS" rating of the draft class. If you believe you have identified a true franchise QB you take them with your first pick of the first round. If the team thinks Tyler Bray will make the team better, allow them to win more games and win a super Bowl. No matter what Mel, That other douche on ESPN, or any of us think. You take Tyler Bray. I'm not saying Tyler Bray is this type of QB, I believe he is in the middle of the pack in this class. I am saying that if the franchise identifies a franchise QB you do not hesitate to take a franchise QB. Now Will the Bills identify a player they think is a franchise QB, I doubt it. That would mean they are may pass on the 5 or 6 QBs out of the 8 listed here that are available when they pick in teh first round. Meaning it is a distinct possibility they get frozen out of QB they like at pick #41. Which is OK if the team doesn't think there is a franchise QB in the mix. I think all 8 of these QBs have upside as a developmental prospect behind an established Veteran starter, a la Colin Kapernick. At this point in time both Weeden and Tanny were regarded as solid 2nd rounders that may drop to the 3rd. But remember the "experts" all seem to forget that teams pay a premium for QBs. As historically comparisons, I think CBS has a draft grade that can be looked at for YoY analysis. I really don't see them re-jiggering that grade vastly over the months leading up to the draft.
  15. Generally it is bad to push these back even because of swelling. Top tier atheletes usually go under the knife ASAP. The swelling can be managed, uts the scar tissue that forms when you're waiting that can cause issues and delay recovery. I'm sure they are doing the right thing but september is looking like a long shot at this point in time. Chandler is a 6-7 dude with a lot more weight to bear on that rebuilt ligament, he is not going to recover like the physical freak of nature that is adrian peterson. I would say finding a pass catching te just got even more important for 2013.
  16. Manti Te'O will be the best Linebacker the Bills have had since London Fletcher. That's my prediction.
  17. You are correct. I was thinking of the 26-27-600 rule which is far more interesting tHan Parcells' rule. I'd like to see the 26-27-600 Rule applied to first round QBs.
  18. What was Vontaze Burficit's 40 time again?
  19. The rule is determine Peyton Manning from Ryan Leaf not to be Applied to any QB at any time willy nillY. I also believe completition percentage is in there too.
  20. Someone with proven NFL success in the last 5 years as DC. Go ahead and tinker with an inexperienced up and comer as OC.
  21. Well Marrone actually fits the Buffalo Bills coaching naming convention. What a Marrone! http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=hxGgnI6kCrs&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DhxGgnI6kCrs Kind of typical they go with the guy that wasn't even on my list.
  22. Who is the second "big" name? Are there only two?
  23. Are you crazy? You can't say anything positive about the Bills FO. Yeah the team was able to pull a center off a practice squad and have him not only start but start, play well and get credited for a pancake block, but that was just dumb luck. Yes the team has take UDFA and practice squad players on the o-line to add to the 3 top 50 draft picks to make a solid O-line. But even a broken clock is right twice a day. However it happened it was definitely not excellent pro personnel scouting by an upcoming FO talent.
  24. Dude I love wings. I love Duffs, LaNova and Bob&John's La Hacienda in that order. It may be blasphenmous but KC is greater for food. However Jack Stack, Oklahoma Joe's & Arthur Bryant's > Chicken Wings, Plus NY Strip Steak is like $5 a pound all the time in KC. I've been to ArrowHead for a Bills game and everyone is there at 7am grilling. and its not Chicken Wings and Burgers. The majority of tailgates there have steaks, steaks steaks and more steaks plus BBQ thrown in. There are not many NFL cities I'd put on top of Buffalo when it comes to food. KC is one of them. For the record the Bills tailgate party is better but KC, GB and Buffalo are top 3 that I've been to in the NFL.
  25. I think food played into his decision. He goes from Philly Steak's to BBQ. Chances of Heart Attack just doubled. If he would have went to SoCal he might have gotten some salads in him. The People of Kansas City Clearly rigged the Pro bowl voting. It makes no sense for that team to have so many Pro Bowlers.
