There are two huge assumptions in your statement. -

Take the 10m hit in a season you're all but guarenteed to suck. That would be a sound longer term strategy. Also don't cut your starting QB when you don't have a QB on your roster is a sound short term strategy. -
I think the point is though, if you hold in 2013, you're under the same contract in 2014 so you basically don't gain anything. That's how I understood the Mike Wallace situation.

You can't hold out in 2013. That's the new CBA. If you don't report by week1 you lose I think multiple years now.

Ranking Bills Last 3 Starting QBs

List of worst natural disasters to stike your home. 1.Tornado 2.Hurricane 3.Eathquake -
A couple hundred K on the franchise will have very very very very little effect on a 4 or 5 year contract.
-
The franchise tag number shouldn't effect him at all. Because the Bills should be working out a long term deal.
-
Byrd is not on a one year contract. The 2013 season hasn't begun. The one year contract is a worst case scenario if the two parties can't reach an agreement on a long term contract. A competent franchise would be announcing Byrd's long term deal in the next 30 days. The long term deal can pay leSs than the 1 year franchise tag price. (See Matt Cassel) The franchise tag functionally extends the negotiation window for a long term deal. Only in bitter situations do the teams actually go into the season under that 1 year contract.

Levitre: Hasn't heard anything from the Bills yet
1B4IDie replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
1.) Your personal opinion of Levitre's ranking is your personal opnion. Most people would in fact consder Levtre a peer of Yonda, av s in both are Top 10 in thier position. 2.) its not a raise in comparison to Yonda its a swag at a top tier guard salary. -
Levitre has a degree in Finance and Sociology. Interesting feel free to speculate on how that will effect his decision to enter Free Agency. Levitre is not mobile? He seems to pull pretty well. He played on that fast Oregon State offense. I wouldn't call Andy a road grader. So I'm not sure how Andy Levitre wouldn't fit in West Coast offense.

B. Scott has been retained by Buffalo

So Pettine likes to have 3 Safties on the field. So I'm hopping that is the move here. "Don't want to hear 43 is the MIKE" in 2013. -
Welker to test Free Agency (Update - now a Bronco)
1B4IDie replied to Billsrhody's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Skin color, hight, and weight. Wes Welker returns punts, I don't think fear is in his game. My point is without Steve Atwater and Ronnie Lott Wes Welker will play well beyond 32. -

Dude, It is 2013. Not 2008. Take a look at our dominate OL. We run better than almost every NFL team and protect the Qb better than almost every NFL team. Like, that is dominant.

I agree stashing Sanders looks like a sly move. I really think that kid has a super High Ceiling can't wait to see. He will likely have every opportunity to compete and win the starting RT spot.

Cordy Glenn is an NFL LT. There is no discussion about this. It is strange how folks forgot about this. Cordy Glenn was and will be one of the greatest draft steals in Buffalo Bills history. Drafting Fisher will 1.) Never Happen 2.) Be Beyond Stupid even for the Buffalo Bills.

QCity NFL FA is a leap frog game. When I player becomes a FA they leap frog their peers, they do not sign the same deal as their peers. By your rational if Yanda is currently getting about $6.4M a year than $7.9M a year would be logical for the next FA class. 1.)There will not be ticket boycott. there never has been one in Buffalo and Levitre isn't going to make that happen. 2.) When did Levitre get married. He wasn't married a few weeks ago. http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/154524-andy-levitre-tweets-some-side-boob/ -

Correct. I have no concerns about his ability to produce from the slot. He is not as old as people say he is. He is basically exactly the same size as Steve Largent and Steve Largent played until he was 35. Steve Largent played in an era where Steve AtWater and Ronnie Lott could explode a WR in front of your eyes and it would be completely legal. Not to mention the improvements in health and fitness. I fully anticipate atleast 3 more productive years from Welker without a problem. -

The incentive for the Buffalo Bills and all 30 other NFL team to sign Welker to whatever he wants is that he will no longer be on the Patriots. It is worth the money to take him out of that offense. Danny Woodhead is not Wes Welker, that offense performs on a different level when Welker is in there. -

The best O-lineman are on the field. Stalwart is the most important characteristic. Levitre is Stalwart. I really don't understand the logic Levitre has played C,G even LT in a pinch and hasn't missed a game. These types of O-linemen do not grow on trees and when you find one you lock them up in a long term contract and pay them as one of the best in the league. That is if you are a serious NFL organization and not a laughing stock. -
Thank you. Thank you. Best post I have seen on this subject. Yes Fitzaster is many things. Unusually overpaid and a burden to the Cap is not one. He is paid like lower tier starting QB. A 3M roster bonus is peanuts in QB contracts. Bills fans are just unfamiliar with modern QB contracts because they have never experienced one. Ever in the history of the Bills. When it comes to Levitre I am on the side of the debate that would like to see him resigned and in Red White and Buffalo Bill Blue. However it is prudent for the Bills to consider other options at LG. (Which begs the recursive argument of why draft a Guard in the early second round at all. When he lives up to his draft position then you let him walk because you do not want to pay him as a top Guard in the league? A wasted pick either way)

I fear that a double Cornellian would reverse the curse than reengage the curse. Everyone knows a double Cornellian makes a positive. -

Edit: Wait are you pushing Glenn to RT? It should be Left to Right Glenn-Levitre-Wood-Urbick-Sanders/Harriston (Levitre plays LG) Is the best bang for the Bills buck even at 8Mil per year for Levitre. Plus you get to use your draft picks on other areas of need instead of creating unnecessary holes,(pssst that's how team get better, you cheap jackholes) I still think the Bills were slick in stashing Sanders on "IR." I believe he can contribute in a big way. No need to waste picks if you sign Levitre is the point in case you missed it.
