The greater issue, is it is very unlikely and not just pundit draftnik talk that any of these guys would evaluate out as a "Franchise QB." So I agree whole heartily if there is a guy that you think can be your Franchise QB you take him at #8 overall. No question. No debate about value. This franchise hasn't taken a QB with their first pick of the first round in the HISTORY of the FRANCHISE (Kelly and LOSSman were both the second pick the Bills had in the first round). The fact is these dudes all look like a bunch of duds. Maybe a few of them surprise but right now going into the draft it would be hard to believe any of them would be graded by the Buffalo Bills as a "franchise QB." Buddy Nix pretty much alluded to that fact in his tapped conversation with the TB GM "Its a bad year to need one (QB)."

The point isn't Bills coverage or lack there of, the point is 2013 NFL FA has been relatively uneventful as compared to years past for the entire league.

Outstanding post. I think this sums up my assessment of the 2013 draft. Its interesting that the national media and draftniks all link Buffalo to O-Line or QB. I believe Impact Pash Rusher is the Top Target of the Bills and Pettine's Defense. If Dion Jordan somehow fell out of the Top 7(I doubt it) and Geno Smith were there. The Bills would still take Dion Jordan; not Enough to tradeup but that is my opinion. In years past you can see teams trading up for certain players (Griffin Claiborn, Julio Jones) Beside the Top 6 you pointed out do you see any players that teams may covet enough to trade up to draft? Lane Johnson – OT/Oklahoma Star Lotulelei – DT/Utah Jarvis Jones – LB/Georgia Ezekiel Ansah – LB-DE/BYU Barkevious Mingo – LB/LSU Johnson? or Lotulelei?

And Levitre was drafted in the second. I agree with most of the logic behind the post. I think an Pass Rushing, attacking DE/LB will be top Priority. If Dion Jordan were there. I think he would be the pick even over Geno Smith. Mario Williams isn't blind side rusher and hasn't been his whole career. If The Bills add in a Pass Rushing specialist to the D-Line mix. It could have a great impact. I agree wholehardetly that the Bills will not draft any O-Line position. They lost 1 player from thier week 1 strating O-Line. He was a very good player but it is not terribly difficult to find a decent guard. Wasting a #8 pick on a speculative perennial all pro guard doesn't really get you much further down the field than having that decent guard. I'd put Jarvis Jones back in the mix, that is only if Pettine is sold that he can work with him. Basically I believe a versatile Pass Rusher is the primary target. I am very glad the rest of the media and talking heads are associating O-Line and QBs with the Bills. Maybe someone will move up past the Bills to get those players so the Pass Rusher can drop to #8. Less than 30 days away.

Trading back into the late 1st, early 2nd will cost a 2014 1st. Yoou cannot do that. It would be an amazing mistake; A Buffalo Billian style mistake. It would be history repeating itself. The Bills effectively traded JP Lossman for Aaron Rodgers. If anything try to trade down out of #8 and collect a second 2014 1st.

The Needle is pointing down. So #8 overall pick in 2014 will be a stretch. Honestly what team has better shot at the #1 overall pick in 2014? The Jags? Raiders? Not too many teams have an inside position on the #1 overall pick over the Bills at this point in time.
