Tom Donahoe- was he really that bad???!
1B4IDie replied to major's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The opponents a player plays against in college is very relevant. There are no two ways to that statement. What is irrelevant is a discussion of Big Ben when discussing how craptastic JP LOSSman obviously was at the time of the 2004 draft. Now that is real irrelevant. -
Anyone else feeling like they just don't care?

I'm pretty die hard and for me to be like, "Meh Bills @ Jags in a meaningless game." Its a sorry state. This is probably the low point in the last 35 years and every year we're getting lower. -
Q: What is the opposite of "clutch"? A: Stevie Johnson.

Its not Hindisght, its Foresight. JP LOSSman played for Tulane in Conference USA and was not a good QB. TD decided to trade multiple picks including a future 1st round pick to draft a QB that was clearly garbage in the first round. Then, the part that everyone seems to be caught up with as hindsight, the pick that the Bills traded to the Cowboys could have been used to draft Aaron Rodgers. OUch. So Factually, actually and in reality TD traded a pick that could have been used to draft Aaron Rodgers for the opportunity to draft JP LOSSman. This actually happened. Clearly TD couldn't have known that Aaron Rodgers would have been available with the future 1st. However, a "football guy" should be able to look at JP LOSSman and see that he can't successfully play football in the NFL let alone be a first round, franchise QB. JP LOSSman was supplanted by a 3rd round pick ~1000 days after being drafted. Drafting a horrible QB in the first round prior to the rookie salary pool will get GMs fired 99/100 times, and today it's probably 90/100 times. (Good Luck Whaley) -

Its not ridiculous. It is logical. Alex Smith wasn't available when the Bills would have picked so that makes no sense at all. You'd rather trade future picks for some obviously dopey QB. Well good thing you're not a GM. JP LOSSman was a "never-was" he had no shot to be a viable NFL QB. It didn't take a lot to see this, no matter where he Stack ranked." -

How is that making anything up? He traded the 2005 1st for JP freaking LOSSman???!!! Don't tell me when that happened you were like "Oh Yeah that awesome College QB that everyone knows, JP LOSSman. From that football powerhouse of Tulane. Makes sense to trade up for this guy." It was more like "Huh?! JP LOSSman?? Oh boy I hope he is good." Then when he sucked and TD blew two years of first round picks. He gets fired. That is as big a mess-up as you can do as a GM. Not to mention Araron Rodgers was sitting there when the Cowgirls used Buffalo's pick to draft Marcus Spears. All of these are facts, nothing made up. -

He played fantasy football in actual NFL. He traded Aaron Rodgers for JP Lossman. If he didn't make that stupid trade, Aaron Rodgers might be the QB of the Bills today. Just think about that for a minute. If that is even remotely possible than he is the worst GM ever for any team in any sport in all of history. -

Agree completely. The talent on the Bills defense is high. Offenses don't focus on running. A run stopping defender is a waste because most teams are running out of spread formations. If the Bills don't want to draft another QB with their first first (which would be shocking if they did) then you take any trade down offer that has two firsts. Browns would be an ideal candidate. Then you draft big uncover able, quick WRs and TEs. With all three of your picks that would be in the first 45 picks. Maybe an oline in the second. You might even be able to trade SJ for a third (better than cutting him outright). It's time to get some superior talent on offense. The offense is really a bunch of low talent, over achievers (SJ, FJ, Chandler, Urbik, Pears) EJ is a debatable talent but he is really surrounded by a bunch of duds. -
The team to a man quit. They couldn't get it up, after coughing up the game twice and being eliminated from the playoffs. I don't expect to see them again, maybe to play spoilers at home against Miami. We might see the team play there. I doubt there is any life in Jax. That last game is going to be a mess.

First week of playoffs and I'm sweating my RB2 Montee Ball vs Tenn Chris Ivory vs Oak Joique Bell @ Phil If Bush is injured Bell is the move. But maybe Den will build on Ball's last game vs the Chiefs and keep Moreno fresh for playoffs?

My memorable trip to Buffalo for KC game (long overdue)

Glad you had a great time. Buffalo is truly one of the top3 tailgating experiences in the NFL. I go on one or two road games a season and we try to tour the town like it appears you did. After about 6 years of this we realized we hasn't been to a Bills game in years. So even though we know Buffalo we decided to spend a weekend and go to the off beat places we haven't had time to go to and fell in love with Buffalo again. Come back next year for the home opener. I can tell you right now it is going to be a blast! -
