  1. I'm not seeing what you're seeing. He looks pretty fluid on his slants to me. I understand the 40 time and how to use that information. My point is on tape he looks slow, at the same time he is blowing past college DBs. So the 40 time is going to shed some light on whether the college DBs were just scrubs or Evans can actually move fast. That is my point. I think Mike Evans 40 time is going to have a lot of eyeballs on it as well. You might even see prominent coaches watch that one 1st hand a la Harbaugh Te'O and his 40. Its hard to find James Hardy. That was a stupid pick. The Indiana offense was horrible and the tape of James Hardy is mostly of him standing in the back of the endzone catching TDs over tiny DBs. Yes Hardy was tall. Yes Evans is tall but that is where there college similarities end.
  2. I missed that Morrone comment. Foxborough in December in a game that means a first round bye for the Pats (and maybe even the division if they lose to the Ravens) is great experience for EJ. That is huge to EJ's development he gets to pop his Foxborough cherry in a meaningfull game. I'll definitely be looking for signs of life for 2014 in that game.
  3. I hear you but a completion doesn't always mean a good pass. And you have the Steelers, and Tampa game as a whole that were just a mess, Which to be fair will happen with a rookie. Thats why my EJMCL is at 37.7% and falling to as low as 18.85%. I see the good. I just don't see enough of it consistently to have confidence that he can put it together long term add the inability to stay on the field is even more worrisome. So I hope I see more good to raise my EJMCL but it looks like I'll have to wait until September 2014 for that.
  4. You have all week to practice to throw a 6 yard bubble screen pass and you mess it up. It actually is a pretty significant warning signing. This is in week 15. It's not being a rookie. It's just not being a good football player.
  5. Well everyone is entitled to their opinion. However you can not replicate a game with playoffs on the line. Watching Thad Lewis from the booth isn't going to help Manuel's development anymore than watching game film of Thad Lewis on Monday. You have to learn to play when you're hurt. You'll always be hurt. I really don't think he is injured.
  6. Incorrect. I could QB with Megatron, Dez White, AJ Green, and Jimmy Graham at TE and I'd have a great QBR. I'm not an EJ believer but you're really underestimating EJ and the effect of a good WR> I did some research on him. He is a red shirt Sophomore and he is 23 years old come draft day in May. So coming out of the National Championship game I can't see how Kelvin Benjamin could go back in for another year. (I don't know how a Junior is 23, he might have failed a grade or two in elementary school)
  7. Not Everyone lives in Western NY.
  8. IF EJ Manuel can't get the uniform on and play, then he is no good to the Buffalo Bills. He is as important to the Bills future as Kevin Kolb (yes a bit of a dramatic statement.) The point being Fast Forward to December 2014. The Bills need a win against a division opponent to make the playoffs (Guess what the NFL scheduling purposely back loads division games). EJ is banged up (its football everyone is banged up in December), Wouldn't be nice if EJ had the opportunity to step up in December of 2013 and knock the Dolphins out of the playoffs when he was banged, and now you know this isn't his first rodeo in a meaningful game late in December with playoff hopes on the line? This experience is priceless for EJ.
  9. Everyone game is a risk. There is a term "Battle Hardened". The Dolphins are playing for their playoff life. You can't put EJ Manuel in a better position to gain much needed experience than Week 15 home against the Dolphins in a game that the Dolphins are going to bring everything to win. This is much different than a nice cushy home opening weekend against the Panthers. For the long term development of EJ Manuel and the improvement of the Buffalo Bills you need to get him out there and gain the experience. You can not recreate this situation in OTA, Pre-Season, or nice comfy September home opener games. This is a playoff game for the Dolphins and the Buffalo Bills have the opportunity to step and act like its a playoff game for them as well, or they can act like perennial losers and just pack it in for next year.
  10. The Statement was : we need someone better for 2014. I thought you were splitting hairs on the type of person. As in a nice guy, good family man etc. You were just clarifying if he met someone other than EJ. I don't see how that statement could mean anything other than someone other than EJ.
  11. I disagree on the Big Scheme of Things. In the Big Scheme of things you need to strap it on and come hard on Divisional game. A divisional game that is very important to the entire AFC. This is not a meaningless game. The Dolphins can get the 6th seed if they win out and knock the Defending Super Bowl Champions out of the playoffs. If you're a franchise QB you get out there and you win the last home game in a playoff game (For the dolphins.) In the Big Scheme of Things two extra weeks isn't going to help heal any faster for OTAs.
  12. No they are not different statements. That is a hair that doesn't need splitting.
  13. Well there goes that idea. Now that EJ is out on Sunday my EJMCL is 18.85% and dropping.
  14. My EJMCL is at 37.7% Which is probably better than Congress and the White House but much lower than I was expecting through week 14. Since Week 17 is going to be meaningful for the Pats. This next two divisional games can actually have a huge effect on my EJMCL. If he looks better than Thad Lewis is Miami this week and brings it against the Pats in Foxborough and the Bills finish 4-2 in the division there can be an astronomical rise EJMCL. If he craps the bed in both games the EJMCL could reach single digits. The Bills may be out of the playoffs but the rest of the NFL is very interested in the outcome of the next two games. They need to show up and play spoiler its up To EJ to lead them.
  15. Awesome work. (I was being a little misleading in my post because based on your post it seemed that you didn't watch the video.) Now it is clear.Well I have to say your definition of a drop varies from what I imagine would be the standard definition of a drop. A Drop is when a receiver is open and through their own actions they do not complete the catch. A Drop is not when a defender separates the receiver from the ball. I really do not think most people would consider a pass where the receiver had their hands near, or on the ball then the defender broke up the pass as a "drop". For example at 3:00 mark MIke evans has the Ball, The Safety steps up and separates Mike Evans from the ball with a hit. I don't believe Pro Football Focus (the standard bearer for Drop Rate. i.e. https://www.profootb...tats-drop-rate/) would consider that a drop. Now, 5:30 is a drop, however he was pulled back from the play earlier and there was a flag for Pass Interference. The result for Texas A&M is basically the same. 6:37 is just a plane old drop. 8:49 the pass is about 10 yards past Evans. 11:38 the ball is knocked out by the defender. 12:46 Evans is tackled before the ball arrives 13:35 is probably a drop So I guess your point would be he struggles with contested passes. To call all of those plays drops is a real stretch though. If you think those are drops you must have a real frustrating time watching the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. Either way I appreciate your efforts and I now see we just have different standards for what is considered a drop. Robert Woods ran a 4.51 but I agree with you. I think Mike Evans will likely run a 4.6 at the combine. His reported 4.52 at A&M, like most unofficial times, seems like a stretch. However if Evans does run a 4.52 (again unlikely) he is a sure fire Top 15 pick. If he does Run a 4.6 he will go end of 1st and may even drop to 2nd. Either way A team is getting a big man that run routes and catch.
  16. The NFL's greatest team . . .
  17. I mean Kiko doned the Hybrid MLB from OTAs to Week 14, so I'm not sure I follow the weakside statement. Do you mean you think he was drafted to be a WILL in April 2013 then by summer it was clear he was our best option for the MLB? So now find a better MIKE and put KIKO at WIL? I mean if you can find a better MIKE than Kiko, sure but thats a tall order. Either way the WILL in this defense is pretty garbage. So one way or the other that needs to be upgraded if thats by pushing Kiko over and by upgrading the MIKE or by getting better LBs for the WILL, they need to do something. The one thing is sure Free Agents are going to want to play for this defense. We lead the league in Sacks and INTs. Pettine revived Lawson, and Hughes career. Like Hughes personally will be paid a substantial amount of money in 2015 and if he were still on the Colts he would be training camp fodder. So not only should Hughes give Pettine a cut of his contract but other players will take note.
  18. Would you still have Kiko defacto Captain and Call the Plays in your suggested setup? I think the concept of Pettine's defense is you want a fast sure tackler that can go sideline to sideline and clean up anything in that hybrid Inside/MLB position. Kiko fits that to a tee. What you're calling for sound like something out of a Dick LeBeau defense. Not that I disagree with the concept, just that I don't if the D-Co has that philosophy. God forbid, but if Kiko went down the whole defense would have to change, (Moats, Bradham or anyone else on the roster can't go sideline to sideline out of the LB spot)
  19. Yeah I didn't want to go in too hard but when EJ Manuel's rookie year eclipses the best year you ever had, it's a real hard stretch to say there is anything there at all. Kevin Kolb is a never-was, just put it to rest already.
  20. Then you'd be fired as GM in three years.
  21. You just described every ESPN story ever. I think your expectation of ESPN may be off. ESPN doesn't break stories it rehashes local stories and beats national stories like a dead horse. Clearly rehashing from this very board. http://espn.go.com/blog/buffalo-bills/post/_/id/5384/where-is-kevin-kolb-these-days Hi Mike!
  22. Can you give me 3 time stamps that show drops. I don't see one.
  23. Mike R. Is better than the idiotic AFC-E blogger last year. I will say this it's not great but there is volume and about 1/5 articles are interesting. You got Buffalo Bills app, TBD front page and Buffalo news Press Coverage then everything else. ESPN is never gonna break anything but I thought this guy was an upgrade to that complete bafoon last year.
  24. Yeah I'm interested in that dude. I'm going to be watching him closely in the National Championship game. For Some Reason I thought he was a true sophomore. He is a redshirt Sophomore and will be 23 on draft day 2014. So he is probably going to come out. Especially if he has a good BCS Championship game.
