Chad Kelly dismissed from Clemson
1B4IDie replied to NDBUFFCUSEFAN's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
See Newton, Cam. (Not that Chad Kelly is as talented as Cam) EMCC was the 2013 NJCAA national champions and went 12-0. Many of the games were incredible blowouts as well, including a 90-7 win over Coahoma Community College. On the season, East Mississippi outscored its opponents 747-117. Seriously. -
If We Pass on Ebron .... We Will Regret it
1B4IDie replied to TheBackupQB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What do Gronk and Ebron have in common? I think this article is interesting. Ebron and Greaham are very comparable. http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/sports/football/nfl/2010-04-15-draft-tight-ends-jermaine-gresham_N.htm?csp=34feed I think Jace Amaro compares closer to Gronk -

The problem is Ebron is a Honda with a Ferrari body kit. He is not freakishly fast, he is not freakishly tall, he is not freakishly agile. Not by any measurement in the combine. He is all hype. I don't know who Bayer is but Troy Nicklas, ASJ, and Jace Amaro all have just as good and sometimes better measurable and college production and at least one of them is guaranteed to be there at #41. No way 7 WRs and 4 TEs go in the first round. There is nothing special about Ebron in comparison to the TEs in the draft class beside Hype. -
The percentage of players that visited and were drafted of the total number of visited players is a meaningless stat. The percentage of players that visited and were drafted to total number of draft picks is a better measurement. Which would be 10 of 30 over the last 4 years or 33%. Also 4/4 for 1st round picks and judging by the list of visitors 5/5 after the 2014 draft. I wonder if they only had 29/30 visitors because Khalil Mack is in their backyard and they didn't want to risk any tampering claims if somehow he fell to #9 or they traded for him? I don't think Mack was an official visit but his pro day was at OBD.

It is unfortunate that tap talk shows you posts from posters that are on your ignore list.

And the announcers had no idea who was sitting next to him or at least didn't bother mentioning Gilmore.

The sportsscience stuff is always fun. In the draft though if you can get basically the same guy at pick 41 that you can get at 9, you don't take Eric Ebron at 9 when you can get one of the 5 below at #41 repost: There is absolutely nothing special about Eric Ebron compared to the other TEs in his class. Which one of these TEs would you like: (The Stats are from their last college season.) The Bills are doing an excellent job in Free Agency
1B4IDie replied to 1B4IDie's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Chris Williams has a very inexpensive, non guaranteed contract. He can be cut after 2 years with very little money or risk. The reports of his contract have been erroneous and exaggerated from day 1. Correct contract information: http://espn.go.com/blog/buffalo-bills/post/_/id/8050/breaking-down-chris-williams-contract -
Coming to Buffalo, looking for advice

Lol. Technically this is true. -
No one wants to get rid if Spiller but the tea leaves are pointing to a Spiller exit after the 2014 season. So do you try to get something for him before he walks is the point?
-
Good point. Spiller played multiple games as a WR in 2011. He is very versatile and in Denver/Seattle/New England/New Orleans he can add a dynamic threat to a team that is already a contender. His type of play can bolt on to any offense. If he hires Eugene "go to free agency" Parker no team will trade for him. If he hires an agent that will sign a long term with the new team there is a chance for a trade. It depends on how teams value Spiller but to your point a team that it is not a contender on 2014 would make little sense to trade for Spiller. Maybe #9 and Spiller to Atlanta at #6 to move up if Watkins/Robinson/Mathews/Evans/Mack/Clowney is still on the board. Atlanta has a QB and WRs and knew how to use Jaquiz Rodgers. Plus they think they will be a quick turn around team. They could still get Mosley Barr or a DB at #9.

"Draft Value" is dumb. Take BPA and dont look back
1B4IDie replied to maddenboy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How enlightened. Coming from the "I don't want the 3rd best in Madden rating" of anything. If you keep this type of reasonable thinking up I'd suggest that you can change your handle to MaddenMan Yes rankings and ratings are not the only determining factor in the draft. Rankings and ratings are tools that a decision maker may use to make a decision but they are not gospel. They are just one tool GMs may be looking at other qualities of the person as well as measurable and scout rankings. The GM should decide to draft the human being that they believe will help their team the most. -
Tomcat's 8th annual "Gimme Five" contest-WINNER WINNER!
1B4IDie replied to The Tomcat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Johnny Manziel doesn't project well in the NFL and actual GMs aren't fooled. The Browns being the Browns are fooled and trade 26 and 35 to get back into to Top 10 when Manziel falls. Hopefully at #9. -

What the . . . -
The thing is, you become a 1st round pick and paraded around as the shiny new toy and this stuff gets on the front page of the local paper. Again talent wise he is a top 10 pick, and he was 18 or 19 when he said what he said. So there is the fact that he was just a dumb kid. However this is some scandalous ****. The other event is he got into a fight with some Ohio state fans. He says he was breaking up a fight between fans. They say he get involved and started whipping up on a fan. It'll be interesting to see how real GMs make decisions about Lewan. Especially in the Incognito era.
-
Thats the thing EJ, is a tailor made Franchise QB. Height, Weight, Build, Arm Strength, Brains (He was a double bachelors), Looks, Public Speaking. Its Just not clicking on the field of play at this very very very early point in time. If ever does put it together we all be very happy. This kind of off season work can only help.
-
Lewan told a young woman that believes she was rapped, "Drop the chargers or I will rape you again." He didn't do the alleged rapping, his roomate, the kicker did the alleged rapping. However he is getting brought up on chargers for the threat that was verified by multiple people including teammates. GMs and Coaches are fathers of daughters and its going to be hard for a team to send this guy through the media circus as a 1st round pick. Lewan is very talented, personally I feel he falls further than Cordy did as a result. I'm going to be watching where he goes closely. It should be interesting.

+1 and just ignore the overly ornery people on TBD that feel compelled to piss on every person and every post.

RD3#73: Demarcus Lawrence DE43 or Donte Moncrief WR?
1B4IDie replied to Astrobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think you have to get a DE and RB in the 3rd and 4th. So given the options you present Lawrence would be the pick. For all the talk of BPA down the board I think their hands are tied by position. Big pass catcher and RT in 1st and 2nd. Then RB and DE in 3rd and 4th.
