Nice Work. Well there is your reason.

Just click the 2015 tab. There is a $1.5M in Dead Money in 2015. The only criticism is that OBD could have taken Fitzy off the books last year but chose to spread to 2013 and 2014 which we don't get but they thought was better. At the end of the day. OBD is going to cut some very talented players to get to 53 and most of that is not related to the Salary Cap. The Bills have a very young team on rookie contracts. When they start coming up for extensions is when this Dead Money is going to be important, not in 2014. So unless Mario Williams is cut to get down to the 53 man roster. There likely won't be a huge Dead Money hit in 2015.

What about the random FA that played much better than expected? Carpenter being a great find after Hopkins was injured shouldn't be looked at as a negative move by the FO. The plan was Hopkins to be the Kickoff Specialist and FG kicker in 2013. He got injured they needed a Field Goal Kicker, and got one that was much better than expected. Would you rather they cut Carpenter and keep Hopkins?

Last week it was two weeks. Now it's two weeks again? I guess that is your way of agreeing that Kelvin Benjamin's catch was insane. You're seriously going to call the 112 yard 1TD and 1Int performance of Josh McCown "shredded"? It was Mike Evans that beat up Ron Brooks for the TD, not a certain starter you love. There are many things to worry about with this team. The pass defense doesn't look like it is very high on the list; if it is on the list at all.

These are my top 3 concerns as well.

Incorrect. The posters is simply saying that the overload in information has turned a simple disciplinary action by a coach, run wind sprints, into some type of episode of a soap opera. Hughes says "that's what you get 31 days in Pads." Marrone immediately addresses the comment, a team captain addresses the player, thenHughes and the coach discuss after practice. This is a complete non-event that is being so over analyzed that he has turned from drama to comedy.

Stevie Johnson Struggling to Secure #3 Spot with 49ers

This is some good sarcasm . . . "Clutch" . . . You crack me up, man. That's funny. "My life was riding on it" . . . That's a good one. You'd be one dead mofo. This is hilarious. Good one. -

The Bills effectively traded Stevie Johnson for Bryce Brown and Seantrel Henderson. That's a one sides trade if ever there was one. -
8-20: Doug Marrone and GM Doug Whaley on WGR

The comment goes to the Trentative comparisons. He needs a little bit more Brett Favre or Jim Kelly in him. I'd like to see him throw to Robert Woods in tight coverage crossing over the middle and let Woods make a play on the ball for the big gainer a little more often for example. Yes you may take a sack or int but you know you might get a TD or game changing pickup. If he is at casino EJ is putting 40 dollars on the $5 BlackJack table and then walks away when he is down to $10 dollars. Where Brett Favre is throwing around 1000s on Roulette. EJ doesn't have to go to the Brett Favre extreme but he needs to take a few more calculated risks IMO and it sounds to me like Marrone is pointing that out. -

Thats why I'm not too worried about the red zone struggles YET. The 1s were able to move the ball against a good Panthers defense and a Good Steelers defense. Just couldn't get in the endzone. We should see how it works on Saturday as Watkins, Williams, FJax and Chandler should all be on the field in the redzone at the same time. (maybe even CJ for a change) I do like that Morrone didn't bother practicing FGs in the Pre-Season. Going for it on 4th down 3 or 4 times is a much better use of that pre-season down. They got to punch it in. You can't live off of short FGs. -
Team Speed... Bills are 4th overall
1B4IDie replied to You herd it hear last's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah Age adjusted should probably start at age 27. I think NFL players probably get faster going from College to the Pros for the first few years of training, not slower. Edit: And more importantly some of the players that maybe had a less than stellar 40 time, getting training by an NFL program can probably significantly boost their effective speed. So basically this whole concept is extremely flawed. It is just noise imo. -
Yeah I think if he said "under 50%" that would be 1.) a Damning Statement and 2.) a better benchmark of a "bust". In this case low 60% is not a horrible place to be and I don't think in any way to Coach Sal mean it EJ is a bust because of that, simply that will be his ceiling of completion percentage in Coch Sal's opinion, for whatever that is worth.

I think it was, obviously, obvious, to everyone, that obvious was his crutch word. Obviously, I'm sure they have soft skills, and media training for coaches. The over use of teh word obviously would have, obviously, been pointed out. I'm obviously just guessing though. -

I like what he said about CK and the tackle position too. He said to paraphrase, You could play 70 plays at tackle. In 67 just completely dominate the opponent by in 3 plays if you give up 3 sacks and 1 ends the game everyone will say you had a terrible game and you suck. Even though for 67 of the of the plays you may have dominated and he likened that to being a CB and giving up big plays. Interesting thought. I think it is clear that the roles reversed. Henderson is the Week 1 starter and CK is the development Tackle and guess what that is A-OK. It is a great place to be. -
TMQ (Gregg Easterbrook) on Buffalo/stadium
1B4IDie replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Greg Easterbrook is very intelligent and reasonable man. I recomend his book Sonic Boom. http://www.amazon.co...egg easterbrook He makes reading about the powers of Globilization interesting. The Jabroni's in charge of Buffalo, the 4,000 municipalities in Erie County, the Eric County Executive office, and Albany are not very intelligent and reasonable men. Those incompetent nincompoops can't build a bridge, let alone revitalize a downtown area in the second biggest City in the State. It would take some major cash by the Bills owner to build a new stadium in downtown Buffalo. A Pegula funded stadium with Golisano greasing the wheels is a possibility for a downtown stadium, the owner would have to be comfortable with amount of bribery and extortion it would take to build the stadium. Other than that I don't see the Jabroni's in charge of the Public Money in Erie County and New York State to be able to get their heads out of their collective arses to build a model of a stadium let alone an actual restructured Buffalo downtown with an NFL football stadium. -

I have the under. I just hit play. Oh wait there is one. I noticed he is trying to choke them back this year. I think he is working on cutting them back. Ok there is one pause that would have normally been an obviously but he cut it off. Edit: Just finished. It 18 minutes it might have only been single digits! That has got to be a record for Marrone. See everyone can improve over time. If you, obviously, work hard. -

That Bucks team was run by a bunch of Jamokes. In 2012 Josh Freeman was a 4000 yard QB, Mike Williams, Vincent Jackson, and Doug Martin were all tearing it up. Levonte David and Mason Foster were beasts. Even Rosoe Parrish had like a 10 yard punt return average. Then they Blew it up instead of staying the course. Mike Williams' off the field issues are far over-stated. I'm not worried in the least about Mike Williams getting into trouble off the field. He never, when healthy, had a problem on the field. It looks like the GM might have done their homework on these two. -

No one doubted Henderson's physical abilities. All 32 teams doubted his mental makeup. If Henderson keeps his head on straight he has the potential for a very long career and a lot of money. I wish him the best and hope he remembers which team gave him a real chance when it is time to extend his contract. BTW Seantrel Henderson was part of the Bryce Brown trade. It looks like just Seantrel is worth a 2015 4th round pick alone. Meaning we traded Stevie Johnson for Seantrel Henderson and Bryce Brown. That Whaley is a smooth operator. -
Dude give it a rest. Nothing I said could be interpreted to mean that Gilmore is loafing. You're asking a question you already know the answer to then arguing the point. That is not attempting to have a "decent conversation." i could care less about discussing Gilmore's performance with you as you have made it clear you do not want to have a "decent conversation". You don't like Gilmore's play in preseason and you think it will be exploited in the regular season; Fair point. We will see come the regular season. Good Day to you, Sir.

In case you're actually being earnest, posting ridiculous strawman arguments like "Gilmore is loafing" or "Whaley should try and sign the Bills teams of the 90's" are examples of NOT trying to have a "decent conversation". There are in fact examples of the worst possible kinds of posts. Just an FYI.
