  1. Jim Kelly put the Bills QBs on Blast and OBD reacted. Cut Thaddeus and picked up Jordan Palmer. One Step Back and One Step Back . . .
  2. Yup that's on the list. It says official right in the title, how much more official can it be? Plus it's on NoSaints list of lists considered to be official making it even more official.
  3. Actually on the SI article he specially teaches QB prospects how to breakdown play books and quickly learn the plays. http://www.si.com/nfl/2014/05/08/jordan-palmer-blake-bortles-quarterbacks-2014-nfl-draft
  4. Good list. I've captured all of these except for Alan Branch. I don't get it. Signing and cutting Branch seems like a non-event. There are lots of young DLine talent and there is a ton of cap space. What is the downside to the Bills?
  5. It can be argued that 1 attempted pass that is never completed or incompleted is more effective.
  6. Yeah I read that and it gave me the hee-bee gee-bees. Rob Johnson is the root cause of the 14 year playoff absence. Maybe this can bring it full circle? Maybe . . .
  7. Jordan Palmer, fancies himself a QB Consultant. I know a QB that needs some consulting . . . http://www.si.com/nfl/2014/05/08/jordan-palmer-blake-bortles-quarterbacks-2014-nfl-draft
  8. Never poop where you eat, I save them for crop dustings. Like EJ throwing a fly pattern you can't be afraid of stray one you just got to air it out sometimes.
  9. Correct I got my Dougs crossed Unfortunately. Yes.
  10. Flatulence is no excuse for eschewing Beer! In fact it may be a reason to imbibe.
  11. Correct. It is a list.
  12. When his agent died. Both fair feedback. However I think I tried to get the consensus on the board. That's fair. I'll adjust. Nice. I'll update.
  13. They're pretty good in Madden right now. Especially if you trade for Philip Rivers.
  14. I forgot about that. That was strange. Yeah This definitely not the place to discuss Buffalo Bills GM moves, every thread should be about missing the playoffs for 18 straight years.
  15. I personally would put EJ in the "undecided" category but I think on this board the consensus is generally that EJ is in the "Con" category. I think there is a definite consensus that EJ Manuel is not in the "Pro" category
  16. You figured it out!
  17. So I see Doug Whaley getting the blame/credit for a lot of stuff on this board. How about we try to make a consensus of exactly what Doug Whaley has done. Step 1.) Which actions does Doug Whaley receiver Credit/Blame (e.g. Was EJ, a Whaley or Nix draft selection? I'm putting the 2013 draft in Whaley's bucket) Step 2.) Is that action considered a Pro/Con/Undecided in your opinion I'll try to ascertain the consensus and edit the list below. Here is a start Undecided Traded up to 2014 #4 (Sammy Watkins) for 2014 #9 (Cleveland Traded #9 again to {mysteriously} move up to #8 to draft Justin Gilbert), 2015 1st round selection, 2015 4th round selection Drafted Kouandjio Not Signing Byrd Signed Chris Williams Signed Keith Rivers Doug Marrone Signed Schwartz as D-Co Not Getting a CJ Spiller extension completed before the start of the 2014 season Pros: Released Ryan Fitzaster Traded Kelvin Sheppard for Jerry Hughes Extended Eric Wood Traded down from #41(LaMarcus Joyner, S) to #44 (Kouandjio) and getting #153 (Cyril Richardson) in return Traded Stevie Johnson for a 2015 4th round pick Traded the 49ers 2015 4th for Bryce Brown and a pick that turned into Seantrel Henderson Traded 2013 #8 overall (Austin) and #71 (TJ McDonald) for 2013 picks that were used to draft #16 EJ Manuel, Kiko Alonso, Marquise Goodwin and Chris Gragg Traded a 6th round pick for Mike Williams Signed and Re-Signed Dan Carpenter Re-Signed McKelvin (which originally would have been in Con imo but now has moved to pro) Extended Aaron Williams Extended Fred Jackson Signed Corey Graham Signed Brandon Spikes Cons: Drafted EJ Manuel Having no realistically viable backup QB to EJ Manuel Not Signing Levitre Signed Kolb Traded a Seventh for Tarvaris Jackson Chris Williams Contract size No NFL quality LG for 2013 Signed Doug Legursky Letting Doug Marrone hire Nathaniel Hacket as OC Released TJax after resigning him Not improving the TE position Letting Marrone hire Danny Crossman as ST coach What does your list look like?
  18. Hypothetical arguments are sooooo much Fun! Especially in a thread that is focused on actual number of the Buffalo Bills dead money and the actual effect it has in the real world. I have another hypothetical: Let's say, Gravity didn't exist? Would that make EJ Manuel a more effective or less effective QB? Agreed, but you know, I'm just sayin' . . . hook a Whaley up.
  19. Let me rephrase counselor. There is Cap Space right now in 2014 and the Buffalo Bills can sign or extend anyone they want to, right now.* *"anyone" refers to players that are eligible to be extended and agree to sign an extension ** *** Jerry Hughes I'm looking at you. After busting for the Colts, the Bills saved your career you think you can hook them up with a discount?
  20. This is true. Jebus that must be painful . . . because it is true.
  21. Why are you speaking in hypotheticals? Buffalo Bills Dead Money had almost zero effect on Free Agents signing in March 2014. Buffalo Bills Dead Money will have zero effect on extending contracts and Free Agent signing in 2015. There is Cap Space right now in 2014 and the Buffalo Bills can sign or extend anyone they want to, right now.
  22. Remember they traded back to get EJ. Buffalo traded #8 (Tavon Austin) and a third-round selection #71 (TJ McDonald) to St. Louis in exchange for #16th EJ Manuel, second- #46th (Kiko Alonso), third- #78th (Marquise Goodwin), and seventh- #222 (Chris Gragg) So Yes the Bills were desperate for a QB but I don't think it is fair to say it was a desperate move. You can suppose that they could have traded back again from #16 and still got EJ, but isn't that what happened in 2011 and 2012 when "they ignored the QB position"?
  23. Are you worried that 2015 will not happen? Because unless the Bills cut Mario Williams or Eric Wood in 2014, there really isn't much upfront money out there to become dead. A majority of the team is on a rookie, or short term contract.
  24. Agree. (and remember the reference) I said the same thing in a discussion in real life. Chandler isn't going to fall to the ground before the pass arrives, EJ isn't going to fumble when getting sacked, and Spiller isn't going to fumble every game (well Spiller may fumble every other game.) If you think the mistakes on Saturday are a result of being unprepared then yes it will be a long season. If you think the mistakes on Saturday were just unfortunate series of events that isn't likely to repeat well then there is still hope. I personally haven't decided but I have an open mind.
  25. What happens in 2015 when they will have one of the lowest Dead Money number in the NFL, does that mean they then have a good GM?
