Sabres HC Nolan wants to talk with Doug Marrone
1B4IDie replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There has always been a co-support between Sabres players and Bills players. I know Thurman was a big Sabres fan back in the day. Lots of cross training and cross support can happen now that they're all in the same family. The potential is pretty cool. Not to mention some type of Season Ticket Holder Max package. Where Bills Season ticket holder can get a mini-pack to Sabres for free and build from there and Vice Versa. Cool stuff . . . -
Anyone have ESPN Insider? Bills related
1B4IDie replied to Uncle Monkeyhead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There are like 5 paragraphs. here are the highlights. The Bills have actually been the best of these four teams so far in 2014, especially when you consider the quality of their opponents. The Bills rank third in our VOA ratings, but when I ran an estimate this week that adjusted for how good we expect opponents to be the rest of the season, the Bills ended up No. 1 for Weeks 1-2. A big part of Buffalo's early success has been strong play from a relatively anonymous offensive line. The Bears sacked 49ers QBColin Kaepernick four times, but got to Bills QB EJ Manuel only once. The Dolphins took down Patriots QBTom Brady four times in Week 1, but never sacked Manuel in Week 2. With all that protection, Manuel has been extremely efficient, and only Denver and Cincinnati have higher pass offense VOA marks. Manuel's struggles in the preseason seem like ancient history at this point. (Eli Manning is probably wishing he could move to upstate New York as well.) Manuel seems even more improved once you notice that his receivers don't have standout numbers so far, with one obvious exception: rookie Sammy Watkins, who burned the Dolphins for eight catches, 117 yards and a touchdown. -
How will Henderson hold up this week against Wake?
1B4IDie replied to Bocephuz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nice! -
Much respect for Sammy. Like I said in August. He will not be 100% until maybe OTAs. He is playing through a lot of pain. It has got to light up the locker room though. When you see a guy going through what he is going through and laying it on the line on gameday. It makes you look in the mirror and get over your little bumps and bruises that much faster. It has got to make the team want to go out there and make Sammy's sacraifice worth it with a win. Again, he is just earning a lot of respect with me, I knew he could ball watching him in college but didn't know he had this kind of heart.

Does the 2011 5-2 start temper your enthusiasm this year?
1B4IDie replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes! It Just does. I know everything is different but I'm still tempering my emotions at this point in time. I have been burned by the Bills before. Now if we win the AFC East and or make the playoffs I will lose my ****. Just win baby! -
Phil Rivers WANTS to turn the ball over!
1B4IDie replied to #34fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Rivers is a top 10 QB this millennium. If that turd burglar Norv Turner wasn't there to **** on one of the best collections of talent Rivers numbers would be even more impressive. It is just silly to think Rivers is a weak link. The problem is what do we do with Antonio Gates. If we can get pressure with just our front four like we have in game 1 and 2, then you can put Searcy AND Brown on him. The problem is that may not be enough. Stop Gates -
Brandon Spikes only played 15 snaps vs Mia
1B4IDie replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Spikes can't cover Gates so I doubt he will be in as much as week 1. Preston Brown hasn't missed a defensive snap. The kid looks good to me. He is a Baller. Just win Baby! -
Thanks for the lookout! It is (pre) Gametime!

Beware the Lazor Cameron Wake as well Bills Repeat last week
-
Exactly I feel that Brown will hold his own against the Fins and maybe the Chargers. I'm optimistic about a Contract year Bradham & Spikes with Preston Brown at LB. Like any Rook there will be ups and downs. I saw more Ups than downs last Sunday. We will see this Sunday.
-
Yes it appears he was beat off the line. However he did slip and fall, so we have no idea on his recovery and closing speed. So yeah he fell let's talk about the 74 other plays too.
-
The analysis includes includes the worst play. There are about 75 defensive plays a game. If he doesn't slip and fall on one of those play he had a solid performance IMO. If he played like he played on Sunday minus the slip then that level of play is good for a starter IMO. That statement is so simple you should clearly understand that the analysis includes the slip. It is actually illogical to use 1 slip on 1/75 plays as the measurement of his play which it appears you have done.

Start the power rankings: week 2
1B4IDie replied to dollars 2 donuts's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
actually can the Mods just pin a post at the Top titled. "Complain about Power Rankings Here" and just leave it open all season. It is a complete waste of brain activity to discuss that nonsense . . . "Power Rankings" (rolls eyes) -
He definitely did not get burned on the TD. Let's be clear. If a defender falls down they didn't get burned. They weren't in the play to get burned. Joe B.'s write up is a little more negative than I would expect. he clearly has a nose for the ball and #52 was around the ball carrier a lot. Forte isn't exactly an easy tackle and he was able to slow him down and redirect him so that Forte was not a major factor in the game. Yes if Brown would have straight up dropped Forte on a few occasions he would have saved some yards but that doesn't seem like a fair expectation for any LB on Forte let alone a rook. Great instincts on Fumble Recovery. If Preston Brown played every game like that for the test of his career we would have a solid Starting LB minus the slip up. Especially given the steaming pile of poo that has the Been the Bills LBs for the last 10 years. The good news he likely will get better. Personally I was pretty impressed with his play.

Ray Rice suspended for two games is a solid 6th round pick. Freaking Bryce Brown got picked in the 8th in a league I was in. NFL freaking out about TMZ video could not have been expected in August. Especially when the fact remains, WTF did you think happened on the elevator, he read her Ulysses until she passed out?

Cam Newton's bizarre press conference
1B4IDie replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
but it also has a certain irony to it. Sports reporting is the worst. You basically ask the most obviously simple questions over and over. What is the plan for Sunday? How are you feeling about your opponents D? You can write 90% of sports stories without interviewing a single player (unless they become the story). Cam's responses seem like a self aware commentary on the pointlessness of the entire mandated interview process. He is asking us to look deep inside and say do you really need to hear the QB of an NFL team blather on about the game on Sunday? Shouldn't you be volunteering in your local community or helping your children with their homework? What are you doing with your life where you need to hear BS contrived answers that can be the same every week throughout the season? or he is just stoned on some major painkillers. -
Can we talk about the real crime here? I took Ray Rice in 2 leagues in the 6th round or later, knowing that there was a second tape and assuming it was of Ray Rice knocking his fiancé the F out. Now I'm screwed in the real world in cash not some BS, faux fan morality outrage. If I know the second tape existed in August and I have nothing to do with punishing NFL players how can the NFL act surprised and outraged; this is such bull **** by the NFL. Roger owes me money now. If he would have just thrown atleast 8 games at him like you know he wanted to originally this wouldn't even be an issue. I wouldn't have touched Ray Rice in the draft.

How will Henderson hold up this week against Wake?
1B4IDie replied to Bocephuz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When Cameron Wake is back to form it doesn't matter who is on the other side of him. The good news is the team saw Wake back to form and now can try to game plan for that force of nature. Man I wish he was a Buffalo Bill. -
I knew a got a David Nelson jersey for a reason.

I took the Dolphins in a confidence pool. So that is looking pretty good right now.
