  1. Are you saying that people like a QB when they win? Wow that is ground breaking. Way to add an interesting, original point to the conversation. Why do you think Clausen will win in Buffalo?
  2. No one commented on the "no-ass faggots" portion. Faggots without asses? How cruel. Exchanging a fan in the picket for a player that spends his life training to stand in a pocket does not make the player any better because he can lost longer than a fat arse, beer swilling, load mouth in the pocket. The argument that you can't do X on the field so you can't criticize makes n0 sense. That being said I generally agree that it may be too early to give up on Trent or any of the other QBs in the fold and that some of the criticism is unfair and born of frustration over a decade long losing streak.
  3. I didn't notice this Tebow thread pinned at the top. What a complete waste of time and energy this is, there is more chance of Bradford falling to 1.09 then Tebow being drafted by the Bills. Where do you "people" think he would be drafted? 4.09?
  4. +1 It is up to McNabb because he can choose not to sign an extension with this sorry Franchise.
  5. Unfounded media reports on ESPN report that "Top 42 Pick for McNabb" The Bills have 41 Could there be any more direct communication through the media? That's what makes it seem unlikely this actually came from the Eagles I doubt the Bills have the Balls to do it although I would much rather have McNabb for the next 3-4 years over Jimmy Cluassen Dan LeFevour Pie Crumb Bacon Fat Various other leftovers Drafting a 33 year old McNabb with the 2.09 is not a bad short term or long term move. After you make the move you might even be able to package 2 of 3 QBs for late round picks. TE and Brohm for a 5th.
  6. http://stlouistailgate.com/wordpress/wp-co...holt-finger.png He actually did ok in JAX considering his QB. Same situation in Buffalo 2009 Jacksonville Jaguars 15 12 51 722 14.2 63 Which would be the #2 WR in Buffalo last year.
  7. A Decade later we swapped coaches with the Cowgirls
  8. Interesting. I've read atleast 5 different sites. I've never seen him get crushed so hard. Those dudes really don't like him. You're right its all opinion but when you have a lot of football people talk good about a guy. There is usually a reason. As far as the Bills drafting a QB my opinion is 1.) Don't draft any QB. We have enough "projects" on the roster. 2.) If any QB out of this sorry lot is going to be drafted by the Bills I like the highlight tape and what I watched of him during the GMAC Bowl Game* and the senior bowl. I would be OK with taking him at 3.09. If its 2.09 I won't be psyched but that would mean more of commitment to the organization to this kid. 3.) If any other QB is taken in any other round it would be a mistake. Not alot of talent and 1.09 for Clausen is waaaay too early. But like you said its just opinions. * BTW if you ever get a chance to watch the 2010 GMAC game it was freaking awesome 2OT thriller. Tons of points all around. You will be entertained and you can watch the kid yourself.
  9. Actually if you read the scouting reports and not just assume that he went to Central Michigan so then he must be 3rd round or later and be a project QB, you'll see that almost everyone has him graded mid 2nd right now. Its not likely he will be there at 3.09. If he does well at pro day he moves up and 2.09 makes sense. If he sucks at Pro Day - then your BS statement will end up being true through dumb luck. Here are two reports from a few respected sites so you can actually do some research instead of making up nonsense. http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dspro...0&genpos=QB http://www.nfldraft101.com/profiles/79972/Dan_LeFevour.jsp Draft Projection: Second Overall Rank: 51 NFL Draft Position (Rank): Quarterback (3) Strengths * Athletic quarterback who has flown under the radar at Central Michigan * Excellent intangibles and a true competitor who maximizes his talent * Accurate passer who throws a very catchable ball * Displays poise in the pocket - Above average awareness * More patient than he is given credit for. Has good football intelligence * Passed for 3,000 yards and rushed for 1,000 yards in the same season in 2007 * A passer who can run not a runner who can pass * Excellent mobility * Measured a legitimate 6'3 at the Senior Bowl alleviating height concerns * Good mechanics * Had a good week at the Senior Bowl - showed an ability to make drops and better than expected arm strength Weaknesses * Arm strength is solid but far from a cannon * Spread QB who will need to learn to take snaps from center. * Needs to improve his footwork * Must prove he can make reads in a pro style offense * Not a true pocket passer - May not fit all schemes * Needs to have strong workouts to answer his skeptics - strong showing at the Senior Bowl was a good start
  10. Dude please read up before you make silly posts. McCoy is a late 3rd to 4th round grade. He is not a 1.09 possibility. Start here : http://www.nfldraft101.com/profiles/83447/Colt_McCoy.jsp Dan LeFavour Tony Pike and Jarret Brown will all most likely be drafted before McCoy. If we don't take a QB in the first 3 round and he is there at 4.09 maybe but why bother?
  11. I find it interesting that the sentiment on this Bills Baord has a decent amount of Pro Clausen support. I live in DC and on the DC sports radio, the majority of the Deadskin sentiment can be summarized "Good God I hope we don't take Clausen; but we love Shanahan so if we do then it will all work out." Where do you stand?
  12. Nice work Thurman that site is awesome. I'm glad to see many of the names of writers on the sites I frequent near the top of the list. I knew there was a reason I wear your jersey most games at the Bills Backer bar.
  13. I'm not a statistics guy but the point about the inside of the GM's brain seems true. But that brings up a good point; The grading system would have taken into account if the player the site proposed was available at the spot they proposed the player would be picked, maybe +- 2 spots. Somehow compared statistically with the position actually picked and the overall individual player ranking by (rivals.com). Again I'm not a statistics guy but it sounds like there atleast 3 of y'all that can figure something out.
  14. Good Point 4-4 would also be gaining popularity in defense of the WildCat.
  15. Last year! You clearly didn't watch the Jets Indy playoff game. Phil Simms wouldn't stop stroking Rex Ryan off and talking about how bold he is by calling 4-4 fronts against Peyton Manning. It wasn't successful but as many people have discussed 4-4 is not uncommon for certain situations and has been en vogue as Rex Ryan is the toast of the NFL. Its not taking out a CB for a LB\DL. Its taking out a Safety, in most cases it would be the safety that would have been the free lancing ball hawk position in exchange for a LB\DL in the box that can possibly blitz. Basically you have another possibility the O-Line has to take into consideration for a blitz. And given how fast LBs are getting, many teams have LBs that cover receivers just as well as a Safety. Its crazy but I've seen the Vikes and Pack send D-Line out in coverage against WRs semi-frequently. Those are teams that have learned how to use the freakish big-stronger-faster LB\DL Given Rex Ryan's predilection for going bananas with the blitzing you can see why he has been using that type of front more often.
  16. The Consensus by the people that get paid Millions is Bradford is the only 1st QB worth a top 15 pick. Clausen is only a need based pick. He does NOT grade in the top 25 individual player at all positions by just about everyone. Taking Clausen in the top 10 is a desperate move. Buddy Nix strikes me as many things Desperate is not one of them. Seadog is just more informed not clairvoyant.
  17. There are some sights that are clearly fanboy message board geeks and have no basis in reality. The one sight that recentely popped out that I found pretty insightfull is http://www.nfldraft101.com The writers seem to offer a little more insight. Other sights I frequent WalterFootball.com TheHuddle.com KFFL.com fantasysharks.com fanball.com used to be good but it went downhill recently, I think it was bought out and the new group doesn't seem to care but there fantasy draft guides have still been quality (2/4 championship games,3/4 playoff teams,) footballguys.com does some cool stuff. Alot of the sights are fantasy football focused but most do Mock NFL drafts. The same nerds that are focused on fantasy football are focused on Mock NFL drafts. Not very scientific I just looked at my RSS feeds and bookmarks. http://www.nfldraft101.com has been shooting up the charts. I happen to hope that this mock comes true: http://www.nfldraft101.com/mocks/90/1/Chri...ing_Combine.jsp
  18. Nice work. I use this site as another MockDraft database. The Hail to the Redskin site makes my skin crawl (XXVI) http://www.fftoolbox.com/nfl_draft/2010/nf...ft-database.cfm If you do any time of previous year's acuuracy study can you private message me. Being in a Dynasty League a read many mock drafts but I very rarely see a site account for the predictions. Its real easy to do a mock but which "experts" actually have a good track record. You couldn't just do a simple right and wrong as far as player is concerned you'd have to look at position the player drafted and also the next best player ranked at the position of need. (i.e. If Clausen and Bradford are off the board a team may trade down or not take a QB because the #3 ranked QB is a much lower ranked player as compared to players at other positions) It'd be really complicated to come up with a rating system but I'm sure you have some more projects to do.
  19. I am in a Dynasty Fantasy Football league, where you basically draft the players for life. I've had my eye on Demaryius for the last 2 years. Dude is a freak. He recently broke his foot so he is going to stay off most teams radar. If he were healthy for the combine he would be moving into the 1st instead he is sliding to the late second. I really don't like rookie WRs missing practice time. But the break happened in February and he supposedly will be ready for OTAs. The team that drafts him will be getting great value in the late second. 1.09 Bryan Bulaga (or Highest rated OT) 2.09 Dan LeFavour 3.09 - Highest Rated player. If Demaryius is there at 3.09 (unlikely) it would be a great value pick. Teams that are serious about him would need to send them to their team Docs. The only thing worse than a gimpy WR is a a gimpy rookie WR. (I'm considering drafting him in Dynasty League at 1.10)
  20. Yes he has long hair but how are his abs? You have got to have good abs to be a Jesus look-a-like. The Bills traded a 1st round pick (Fred Taylor) for Rob Johnson. This deal is no where near the kind of draft impact or financial commitment by the organization. 2 years 10 million is really not a large outlay for a QB. They are switching 2nd round picks (2.06 - 2.26) and Seattle is throwing in an extra 3rd round in 2011. Its a nice deal for San Diego but its no where near the stupid Rob Johnson move that set the Bills back a decade. Imagine if you had Flutie starting with Fred Taylor and an aging Thurman. (Yeah I know its unlikely they would have taken a RB, and yes there were no other highly regarded QBs beside Manning and Leaf but that trade killed the franchise. Don't forget that Rob Johnson ended Thurman's career early. He threw a dump off to Thurman in the flat 3 feet over his head. Thurman jumped and fully extended to get it. Exposing the area where most players don't have much padding. An Indy LB buried him, caused rib damage and a lacerated kidney. Thurman never contributed significantly after that. Rob Johnson couldn't even dump off the ball properly there was no real reason to over throw Thurman on that play. )

  22. Its more complicated then just getting Big Ben. And yes Mathews would have been better, buts its easy to second guess a draft. The team has to be ready for a talented field general. However I'm glad I'm not the only won that sees something special in LeFevour. Clausen has bust written all over them and Bradford seems like he'll be a serviceable QB but none of them seem to have the franchise kind of QB that would be important for a high pick. LeFevour in 2.09. (Anyone paying attention to football outside of Buffalo will tell you LeFevour will be gone in the second. He will not make it to 3.09 guaranteed )
  23. This jumped out at me. Receiver: The incumbents are Lee Evans, James Hardy, Roscoe Parrish and Steve Johnson. Those are the only receivers on the roster. The free-agent crop was thin this year, and the Bills have not hosted any free-agent wideouts yet. There is good depth in the draft. The Bills figure to be drafting some receivers. http://www.buffalonews.com/2010/03/20/9942...ls-for-3-4.html I like Steve Johnson, & Lee Evans. Maybe Roscoe will get a chance to work the middle this season? Hardy really needs to step up this season, I wish him the best, but I'm not holding my breath. We don't even have a random special teamer WR to man the gunner spot on Special Teams. If the Bills "brain-trustt" is smoke & mirrors with draft intel. You got to think there is a chance a WR is taken in the first 3 rounds. Although maybe the "brain-trust" realizes the list of washout WRs is alot longer than successful WRs and will stick on building the interior lines of the team. You can pick up a recycled WR alot easier than most other positions. Before you start with your poorly thought and negative response, please realize I'm not proposing the Bills take a WR early. I'm simply highlighting how thin our WR core is and the likelihood of a curve ball thrown by the "brain trust" to go WR
  24. There is no simple answer. If you but Joe Montana on the 2009. Buffalo bills the team does not go to the super bowl. It's a chicken And egg. A good franchise can take a talented field general qb and turn themselves and the franchise into a winner. If you put Trent Edwards on the 1988 49ers with Roger Craig, Ronnie lott, Walsh, Taylor , and rice. You probably still have a NFC chpionahip team if not a super bowl team. It's not simple as sticking a qb in a franchise and it's just stupid to pretend that that's all it takes.
  25. People don't like Maybin because he held out and then wasn't any good on the field. If somehow he ever lives up to his draft or at a minimum gets double digit sacks the "haters" will subside. Until then Maybin has a lot to prove to the fans. The ones that help pay his salery. Hanging out with McGahee. A player loathed by most Buffalo Bill fans doesn't help much. What's more puzzling is Maybin "lovers?" I guess they like looking at pictures of him in him underwear. Other than pose with shirt off the young man hasn't done much else.
