  1. I'm not a Brohm fan but get your crap correct. Brohm wasn't cut, and didn't go through waivers. The Bills signed him off of the Packers Practice squad. Like The Eagles signed Joique Bell earlier this year.
  2. Actually this is much more scientific than old wives tales like "Kick early, go for it late." Football outsiders did a study on going for it on 4th and 1 and teams make it 70% of the time early and make it less late, but even the lower percentage late it ended up being more than 50%. So basically as long as you're not inside your own 45 you should go for it on 4th and 1 all the time. They looked at 4th and 2, and basically the successful conversions took a hugely dramatic drop. I can't quickly find the article quickly but it was pretty interesting. The article specifically calls out Bill Titticheck and how is predilection for going for it on 4th actually makes sense. At the time, I was OK with taking the points, but in the back of my head I thought, this is the difference between the Bills and the Gatriots. Titticheck would have gone for it there and came away with 7, and we were happy to kick for 3.
  3. OK I was able to watch the 'Bama @ Mallets last night. Mallet definitely looks a lot better than luck last week. In the first half he has able to stand in and make the difficult throws under pressure and 'Bama was blitzing him all game. Its striking how thin his arms are, he is soo tall and has such thin arms. Its Manute Bol-esque. I would be afraid that an NFL player would snap those twigs off his body. Although there is some major power in those arms. Much better throwing motion and foot work than Luck (to be fair Mallet has 2 more years of reps than Luck.) Two of the interceptions were bad decisions, 1 he was just trying to make something happen. 1st pick in the back of the end zone in the 1st half has a bad decision, he threw it late over the middle. Thats a no-no. The Second int, is the type of interception I wish Trent Edwards would have thrown. It was 3rd and 11, down by 4 with 4 minutes to play and he was trying to make something happen. The WRs were covered but what do you want him to do? Its 3rd and 11 down by 4, you have to try zip the ball in there and see if the WR can make a play. The Saftey came over top and picked it off, but I say that is better than dumping it off and punting. The counter argument is you dump it off and go for it on 4-5 but the kid is trying to win the game. That last interception, was a huge F up. He was clearly throwing it out of bounds but fell short. It looked like he was trying to throw it at Saban. I'm glad he made that mistake in college in the pros he will put it 3 rows deep in the stands. I think there is a real comparison to Matt Ryan, he has a similar look in the pocket and similar delivery. I'm starting to feel like Mallet wouldn't be a bad move by the Bills. I like that he is trying to what he can do to try to win, and Mallet has complete control of that offense and team. He would call audibles and recheck (which I think was a little much and led to 2 false starts) but it shows his mastery of the position at the college level. Where Luck, atleast right now looks like he can use another year in college. There are a lot more games to be played.
  4. Did the Jets drop a young defensive player that knows the Jets game plan on Sunday in order to make move for Pryce? That seems like a good person for the Bills to claim.
  5. Yeah, still wobbly on a 23" screen. Plus he has a Leftwitchian Wind up. Need to shorten that delivery to make it in the NFL, doubt he is First round material at this point in time.
  6. On the positive note Gronkowski & Hernandez, Dustin Keller, and Anthony Fasano will all be planning for their next extensions after Kelsay is involved in their coverage 2 times a year.
  7. At least it wasn't a Najeh "The Mad Crapper" Davenport, http://www.wired.com/science/discoveries/news/2002/10/56096
  8. # Another One Seriously? Would anyone claim on waivers at his current salary? Its doubtful. Not saying that he wouldn't be on a roster, but I bet Joe_the_Six_Pack $10 Trent would be claimed through waivers, I wouldn't be so confident with Kelsay. I specifically watched him on Sunday because of the contract talk. He looked like complete garbage in that last game. Both of those rookie Tight Ends made him look a undrafted rookie out there. I can't believe he gets rewarded with a contract extension after probably the worst game of his career.
  9. Did the man with the gun have a Justin Beiber haircut?
  10. Not when you're 0-3 and cut your starting QB.
  11. Maybe Trent Edwards gets to go back to California after all. He can be the starting QB of the LA Jags.
  12. saying . . . "Please San Fran Please San Fran Please San Fran. I just want to go home."
  13. Time to buy a Jersey! Woot Woot!
  14. I saw Luck vs Notre Dame, anyone that watched the actual game and says he is NFL ready, is blind. You can see that there is talent there, but definitely is not "polished" by any stretch of the imagination. BTW Ponder is definitely on the radar, not flying under the radar. In the games I have watched of Mallet, the Bledsoe comparisons seem to be the closest comparisons, he does seem to be statuesque at times, and have a rocket arm. And that comparison has nothing to do with the fact that Bledsoe played for the Bills, the comparison would be there if Bledsoe never played for the Bills. I'm watching the DVR of the 'bama game tomorrow.
  15. That would be a negatory, good buddy. I'm going to drop these turds faster than my morning constitutional. Keeping crappy old players' jerseys just shows you don't know how to buy Jersey's from China. I bypass the NFL and give my money to directly to our future overlords. That way they know to spare me when they swoop in on their poorly constructed and patent infringing "resettlement" hovercrafts.
  16. He doesn't have a choice if they draft top 3. It's all slotted. He would have to trade out to save the dough.
  17. Best available player with a tie going to LT If Luck and Mallet are both gone you got to think a blue chip LT. Which I'm assuming there is a tacke that is worthy of the a top 3 pick in 2011. You can move Bell to RT. With wood and Levitre you now can't cry about O-line anymore. Sign a vet and draft the best available player in the second with a tie going to QB.
  18. I DVRed both games. I watched the Luck game before Monday night football and wanted to see Luck against a better defense than the week prior. He definitely didn't perform like an NFL ready QB (not saying that anyone is saying he is already NFL ready there are many more games to play and develop ) His passes zip but they definitely wobble a little and he threw too many passes from his back foot. I noticed 2 out of the 3 times he scrambled he just tucked his head and ran, he didn't look down the field and try to make a pass down the field. He did do that once and the RB turned a 5 yard dump off into a 27 yard pass. Both interceptions were his fault. The first "fade" type of throw was 10 yards too short. The second interception was again too short. It was tipped by a LB that was shadowing the backfield. It wasn't tipped by the Defender in coverage, the defender in coverage reacted the tip and got the pick. A Really bad pass. All that said he does make many more good decisions than bad. In my opinion he needs to develop foot work to help with the inconsistent velocity on his ball. I think he threw a few too many passes short because sometimes he has his feet under him and sometimes he is off balance without pressure. He has potential but definitely needs a lot of coaching up before he can start in the NFL. Learning from Fitz for a year would have to be the route with Luck at this point in time. I'm going to watch the Mallet game before the end of the week. I Already read Mallet blows the game in the 4th.
  19. What kind of bean? You're leading the bidding war.
  20. Being a Bills fan is like getting kicked in the nuts every Sunday by Ralph Wilson, so I'm not really gaining anything with your offer. How about a knuckle sandwich?
  21. I have a barely worn Trent Edwards Blue Home Replica Jersey I will throw in at no additional cost a JP LOSSman Blue Home Replica Jersey, still in the packaging from NFL.com Will take best offer. Any offers out there?
  22. Meaning if Levi Brown, says "Are You Kidding me? I'd rather bag groceries than be a part of your messed up organization." They don't want to look bad. My take is this: Trent Edwards looked like he had the highest ceiling in the competition. All 4 performed similarly but the staff saw the most immediate potential in Edwards. Edwards proved through Week 1 & 2 that he will never reach that ceiling or live up to his potential. Fitzpatrick is a perfect "Care Taker" QB (although on Sunday he did more than be a care taker.) When it was clear Edwards can play up to potential he hit the bench. I speculate he had a conversation about working with Brohm or running the scout team and Nix and Chan didn't like his attitude. They don't want a QB "controversy." You have 3 QBs that all play similarly get rid of the possible problem in the club house. Also Fitzpatrick looks like a good QB that a young skilled QB that is drafted early in 2011 can learn from. Not Edwards. Fitz is obviously smart, not as skilled as other QBs but Fitz may be more of a team player can help mold a young QB in 2011. Brohm only gets on the field if Fitz gets injured though. The above is a narrative that helps somewhat digest what happened in Buffalo.
  23. when is the presser? I didn't see a link on BB.com or see ESPN News cut over to the presser.
  24. Call me crazy but I liked the "Water Bug" package I saw against Miami. It looked like they only ran 1 or 2 plays with no QB and Lynch, Jackson and Spiller in the backfield. I don't think Ed Fitzwards much as QB. We're better off going old school option for a 10-15 plays and see if it gets us anywhere. Put the hands in your play makers. Then when the defense plays up see if Roscoe can hit Evans deep on an end around option pass. Gotta try something different since 19 of the last 20 times we faced the Gatriots we couldn't get a Win.
