  1. Thank you Department of Redundancy Department. Thats kinda my point. If we fill some holes on defense in 2011. The team can get back to 7-9 in 2011.
  2. Its clear that people are freaking out but lets look on the bright side. Fitz right now is the #6 QB by rating. The offensive line does not look as horrible after the QB change. Not saying we have the best O-Line in the league but its not the worst in the NFL. All the sky is falling energy needs to focused on the Defensive front 7. We have the worst LB core in the NFL. (I think there is case for worst in the history of the NFL but thats an outrageous statement that is very difficult to prove.) Fitzy is looking like a good bridge QB, giving a young prospect time to learn on the bench before he is thrown to the wolves. I post this in response to Felser's column. http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/columns/larry-felser/article222005.ece Its really not as bad as this reactionary list to 0-6 (we play the Ravens after the Bye)would let you believe. We have been in every game except for Green Bay and even against the Jets we were in until the 3rd quarter when the our defense opened the flood gates. Seriously we are 3-2 stops away from 2-3. The wish list in my opinion. A Franchise QB in 2011 draft, Its the perfect time to let them learn under a very smart Ryan Fitzpatrick. This is the year to finally find our replacement for Jim Kelly. Rounds1: 1. QB 2. Best player available with tie going to LB 3. LB 4. LB\DE 4. NT\DE 5. RT 6. LB 7. LB The Bills need to get some stops.
  3. Are you holding out for 11-5? What is the possible reason to make a desperation move? Seriously what is that you're hoping for? We trade Lee Evans for a 4th. That would really help the rookie QB we bring in next year. +1
  4. That would be in April 2011. After round 2 Are these college D-line players that will transition to NFL LBs ? Because we can make the players we have now function as a D-Line. Especially if we plan to use a base 3-4. Our LBs our horrible. 2011 draft should be a QB round 1. Then focus on LB.
  5. Correct, that is the key. If there were really a transition plan, why wouldn't it be in effect today? Mr. Wilson is approaching 100. Look at the Wizards/Bullets with Abe Polan. There wad a transition plan for Ted Leonsis to become a minority owner to a majority owner. It's much easier for the NFL to clear new ownership if it's already in the ownership club. Then the NFL would need to inspect the financials behind Jim Kelly's White Knights of the unicorn investment group and the lawyers could work out the details on how JK would acquire the other 90% ownership from the Wilson estate and life moves on. I'll believe JK's big talk when he puts up a 10% share and becomes a minority owner. Until then this is a pipe dream. Plus don't you think the NFL is itching to get the Bills out of WNY?
  6. You also left that we moved up in the draft to get Pos. From #43 to #34 When I think 3 years later everyone would rejoice if we could trade POS for David Harris straight up.
  7. Because he is not very good and will probably want Kelsay money. Then we will have $12 mil a season tied up in less than average LBs. The problem with the Kelsay signing is that we have the worst LB core in NFL history plus if we bring in any good rooks or free agents they'll all be looking up at Kelsays contract. Potential situation like when Mogilny was making 500mil and the rest of the team was making 300k. 2 of the Bills top 4 picks has to be DE/LBs. If Pos is signed or not.
  8. I can't remember the last time I cheered a sack on a meaningful play.
  9. Wooooooooooooo! Can we draft him as a LB? If he is going to save this franchise we need him to play both ways.
  10. Its fitting the Bills are on Bye for his birthday, since the Bills have been on bye since his 82nd birthday. You know time flies when you're older, maybe in Ralphie time the Music City Forward Lateral feels like last month and he is just now getting around to doing something about.
  11. I agree with you that the front office has a horrible track record. But I think you'd agree its not poor talent evaluation if some of the players are doing well elsewhere. Its a mixture of poor talent evaluation, long & short term planning & strategy, coaching, and execution. They all play a part. Basically if you picked out 10 dudes from this board and put them into FO positions in 2004 they COULD NOT DO ANY WORSE. Seriously, they really couldn't, The Bills are heading for 3-13 Best Case scenario and 0-16 likely. If you're on 0-16 then people off of the street literally can not do any worse. But you have to start somewhere. This year they started with coaching and GMing, next year you add a QB and some defense. Nix said it would get worse before it gets better. He was correct about that.
  12. What was the point of your post? 1.) What does that have to with the Bills? Todd Collins didn't work out for the Bills. He has been a "player"\coach for years on the Chiefs\Deadskins and now Bears. 2.) You know that was one of the worst QB performance by a starting QB in NFL history right? 6\16 32 yards 0TDs 4INTs I don't really think you can call that "starting" or "playing"
  13. Larz Trent Dilfer was drafted in the 1st round, #6 overall. This demonstrates how difficult it is to find a good QB, if the consummate care-taker QB was drafted #6 overall . . . Either way it is time this franchise made a big bet at QB. If you completely ignore the stupidity of trading up to get a JP LOSSman (his name has Loss in it, that should have been a warning sign right there.) The last time the Bills took a QB in the first round is: JIM KELLY Goose pimples, right? 2011 is the time go all in on a QB. Its only been 27 years since we took a shot at QB. (And for the people that say "go O-Line Round 1, then QB Round 2" We Did that before in 1995, Round 1 Reuben Brown, Round 2 Todd Collins. "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." In this case lets repeat 1983.
  14. Are you proposing we have a Kurt Warner situation, at QB? Are you also proposing that we have THE WORST LBs in the NFL, not just this year, but quite possibly in NFL history. If it were possible to rank the worst LBing squad ever I don't see how a team in NFL history could beat us, we have that locked up. Are you also prosing that our D-Line could probably be in the Top 40 worst all time D-Lines as well? That maybe our problem is we can't stop our opponents? That would be crazy. I don't think Fitzy is going to be a long term solution, but the fact that he does look good so far makes this an even better time to draft a QB high. You can let a guy learn a system for a year or two under a very intelligent QB. Fitzy seems like the perfect bridge QB, he can help teach the youngster. Fitzy may have aspirations to be "the Man" and hell maybe somehow he does become the man, but he also knows that being a player\coach of young QB talent only increases his value over time. He can be the Care-taker\Tutor QB for many years in the NFL, and its a gateway to becoming a QB coach, Offensive Coordinator, and Headcoach over the long term. If the first 5 rounds in the 2011 draft went like this: Round 1: Mallet\Luck Round 2: Best overall Talent on the board tie breakers prioritized by RT, LB, DE Round 3: Best LB on board Round 4: Best LB on Board Round 4: Best LB on Board Round 5: G\C I'd be very happy.
  15. If you think Luck is a polished passer you're doing more reading than watching. The Mallet assessment is from his days at Michigan, thinks change over time. The Locker assessment doesn't seem current as well. Probably from his High School requirement page. There are no guarantees in life. But the Bills are guaranteed to suck if they don't take a highly educated, and well thought out chance on a top tier QB prospect. They are all prospects. Some will be good, Some will be bad, Some will be bad early then good later, Some will be good early then bad later, some will be just OK, and some will be terrible.
  16. There's a 4 way intersection in a path, in the center is a crisp new $20 bill. Coming up each path towards the center is a dumb blond, Bill Polian led Buffalo Bills under a Jim Kelley led ownership, Santa Claus, and the Easter Bunny. Which one gets the money? Its more likely Polian is part of the fictional Kelly led ownership group, that way Bill could really stick it to Ralph as the new owner of the Buffalo Bills. About as likely as me pooping out $20 bills, but a boy can dream.
  17. You need to update your draft info Locker's stock is down. Mallet's is up. Mallet is a first round pick all the way. No chance he is there in the second.
  18. There is a difference between what 8and8 is saying and what you are saying. 8and8 post is hopeless. My question to him is why bother? My post definitely cannot be misconstrued as you're either 19-0 blowhard or you're nobody. You're singing to the choir.* *I wrote singing by accident, but I'm going to keep it. It seems even more pointless than preaching, why would you sing at a choir.
  19. Stop taking a pragmatic and realistic view of the Bills organization. It will only make you want to What you're saying is likely true, so the question beckons, why are you here? Why are you posting? Why do you care? If you chose to believe there is no hope, why are you wasting your time with the Bills? Its much more comfortable on the Steelers bandwagon.
  20. Sorry If someone already posted this I searched for Cigar Guy and nothing came up. Pinto Kenny & Cigar Guy http://kissingsuzykolber.uproxx.com/2010/10/nfl-internet-memes-week-4.html
  21. Best Post Ever! Can this be mandatory reading for anyone posting on this board, like when you have to agree to all those terms when you install software?
  22. Thats funny that you call me a moron yet it is you that is reverting to name calling and it is you that can't even hit the "Reply" button to reply to my post. My point is pretty simple. You state that because fans buy tickets to games and buy merchandise Fan is short for fanatic. People are going to buy tickets and merchandise for the team no matter what the record of the team is; this is the NFL. People debate on message boards for hours. People will go to the stadium. My point is pretty clear, buying a ticket or a jersey does not mean you deserve to have the GM of a sports team tell you their plan. Sorry my attempt at abstract humor confused you. BTW Unions are an antiquated form of organizing labor forces and are easily corrupted. In many cases Unions become a worse oppressor of the work force than the "ownership."
  23. That statement is as logical as a crackhead demanding to know how their dealer attained the crack and demanding to know how the cocaine is cooked. What possible reason would a dealer give a crackhead that information? Tickets will be bought and merchandise will be sold whether Nix explains his moves or not. The average fan is little to no basis to judge the moves that are being made so why would a franchise give unqualified people information that they don't completely understand. The same way the average crackhead isn't qualified to judge the quality of the crack by the dangerous chemicals that are used to cook the crack. Give Nix 3-4 years, if we go from 2-14, to 9-7 and a wild card in that timespan he has accomplished something. If not, well I don't even want to think about 20 years of not making the playoffs.
  24. +1 I got real excited when I read "Well Sully is dead" Don't tease me like that. +1 He may be too old to be a douche though. I think whiny Old fart is probably more accurate, according to my sources. My sources are me and my opinion, which are similar to Sully's sources except his sources are him and my sources are me.
  25. That is right on. Bad franchises make bad decisions that is why they are bad.
