Its likely Maybi will go down as the worst draft pick in Bills history when all is said in done. He will have worse stats than Flowers and play less games than Williams, and Cousineau was actually a good player that decided to go to the CFL, and then we got Kelly out of the deal. So Maybi will likely go down as the worst pick in Bills history since the AFL-NFL merger. What makes it worse is what Internet Tough Guy points, out by all regards Maybin was undersized but very fast. Orakpo was not undersized and almost as fast as Maybi, why a team that needs a homerun takes the risk on Maybi over more of sure thing like Orakpo is beyond me. This sounds outrageous but unless being made inactive in front of his family in Baltimore, lights a fire under his but and gets him motivated to head to the Duffy's for some wings and fries to get his weight up, Maybi could go down as one of the worst picks in Major Sports, right after Sam Bowie over Jordan.

Buffalo News Vote For Worst Player In The NFL

I'm pretty sure Chan made him inactive, on Sunday, because he has been inactive every Sunday of his career, the only difference being he wasn't in a uniform last Sunday, not because of his haircut. But I get your point, it's like putting big money rims on a Pinto, the driver is the one that looks like an idiot and doesn't even know it, same as Maybi. -
It doesn't sound like that at all. It clearly says off season. Based on the level of your reading comprehension, let me explain what off season means. Off season is the time after a team has played their last game, for the Bills this year that will be January 2nd 2011, until Training camp for the next season opens. Meaning, after the season if over you will know if it is worth locking up Stevie Johnson for a second deal, instead of waiting until he has a free agent the following summer. Pretty simple concept. I think Die Hard 1967 is being sarcastic, he feels the concept of signing Stevie J to a second deal in the off season, is as ridiculous as giving Roscoe another extension today.

Buffalo News Vote For Worst Player In The NFL

Wow, I forgot that Maybin is from the Baltimore area. They made him inactive against in front of his family. Looks like Chan is one cold hearted dude. The first time he in active in his career in a game in his hometown. I like it though, if that doesn't light a fire under his skinny butt, I don't know what will. Get that man some Chicken Wings and Biscuits. -
What is your obsession with me? My point is who cares who is #1 and who is #2 and who is #5. On the field production is what counts, not the myth of the constant Lee Evans double covering, like he sits on the bench with an opposing player on his lap because he is so dangerous. And you got it backwards, I'm comparing Stevie Js money to Welker's money and saying they both should be making more, unlike most of Buffalo that doesn't think anyone on the Bills should make more than $9 an hour.
-
Wes Welker is #83, and only makes $2 mil a year.
-
This is all correct but the question remains, will Lee Evans perform just as well when he has good QB play. That is still unproven, but is off to a good start.
-
You didn't do the same analysis on Lee Evans stats And Stevie Johnson has 13 rec, 204 yards, and 3 TDs in that span and you proved that he was irrelevant during all of the Jacksonville game, which would be slightly out performing at 1/23rd of the cost.
-
Myth: an unproved or false collective belief that is used to justify a social institution. "Lee Evans is a great WR with a bad QB, its OK to pay him 9.5 million a year." The point of this is Stevie Johnson is slightly outperforming Lee Evans, Lee Evans gets to move from Myth to Hero if he can perform up to his potential now that the offense is showing signs of life a few weeks in a row. The Jury is still out.

Dude, Key retired in 2006 and Mush was in Chicago from 2005-2007. Anyway. I'd like to see that state line. JP's only pass was to close his eyes and rip long and hope Lee could catch it.
-
I did too. I'm in a 12 team 27 man roster, dynasty league and when Trent Edwards got cut I dropped him and picked up Fitzy, because of BYE weeks I had to start him against the Pats. I was ridiculed mercilessly before the games, after a top 5 QB performance of the week and a W for me the other guy got real quite. I haven't had the balls to start him again though, but home vs DET is looking like a good chance. (Incase there are any doubters, I'm the Freakin Ricans: http://football21.myfantasyleague.com/2010/weekly?L=35856&W=4) If thats what you think, you haven't been paying attention to how hard he has been working last year and this year. Not talking about stats.
-
Produced, Produced what? Lee Evans had 1 good season in his Career. 2006, when JP had that good year. And 1 Ok year. 2008 when we started 4-0. Other than those 20 games, Lee Evans has been garbage. A true #1 can overcome a double team. Steve Smith hasn't had a decent receiving partner or QB in a long time but still has more 1000 yard seasons and TDs than Lee Evans. And this this thread is about the fact that teams can't double Evans all game anymore so lets see what Lee can do. Stevie has more targets, more yards, more TDs and more receptions, why would D-Cos not game plan for a team's #1 threat. The point is now teams can't double Lee Evans because Stevie has made them pay the last 4 game. BTW he only has 2 drops, Fred Jackson has 4 drops. Nice breakdown, only nit picking here, but I doubt a team plays Prevent with 4 mins left in the game up by 2 Td; At least I wouldn't in Madden, I don't think Titychek would in real life. Either way teams have to respect other receiving options going forward.
-
I said this before, the fact that we're heading for a 0-16, to a best case 4-12 season means that 5 years ago you took 10 random dudes from this board and make them Bills management, they COULD NOT DO ANY WORSE. But mocks are bred from mocks and other mocks, there isn't any real new information out there, just a bunch of fans that rehash, Scouts INC, Rivals, and the Mane from Bal'more. Its not that difficult to put together a 2 round mock. After the first two rounds, thats where the experts at One Bills Drive should be earning their paychecks. Its easy to pick from the top 75 Talent in college football its much more difficult after that. Maybi was just such a clear undersized, tweener with no college PT, it had bust written all over from Day 1. For a team that needed a home run why take all the risk with Maybi? It was stupid and so out of touch it just showed that there is no understanding of how to draft; Especially when Orakpo was there. Not only will that go down as the worst pick in Bills' history, it could go down as the worst pick in NFL history or Major Professional Sports history, right after Sam Bowie over Jordan.
-
Exactly with Stevie getting 5 TDs and more yards than Lee Evans, defenses can't focus solely on Evans any more. Defenses have to focus on the hot hand, so lets see what Lee Evans can do with a "bigger field" meaning less double covering. Its show and prove time for Lee Evans.
-
This is right on. I just adjusted your post a little.
-
Its not 1 career game, are you even watching the games? Stevie has as many TDs with 4 games of playing with Fitzy as TO had all off last year and only 2 away from the Mysterious Lee Evans' 7 TDs in 2009 It's not 1967 and the player's don't play for Potato Chips and sodas. Stevie has worked hard the whole time he has been on the Bills. If Stevie is in the long term plans of the Bills you renegotiate a contract when there is 1 year left in the contract not when he is a Restricted Free Agent. I'm not saying you start at Lee Evans numbers, I'm saying you pay the man if he has a good 2010. How Many WRs come into the league and do diddly squat, its clear he is working hard at it SHOULD pay off for him. Nix gets a chance to prove that if a player is drafted and plays well they will get paid. This is how you build a team through the draft you prove to the drafted players that hard work will pay off with a nice new contract.
-
It looks like the rest of this season is myth busters time for Lee Evans Now that Stevie is tied for 4th in TDs, and is clearly Fitzie's favorite target defenses can't "double Lee" all game long. Plus you have the emergence of Shawn Nelson (besides the forward progression fumble he had a nice game) the field is going to get a lot bigger for Lee. So Lee appears to have a QB that everyone can agree is atleast competent if not much better. Its time to see if Lee Evans is a difference maker. Stevie Johnson 25 372 5 TDs maybe 388K Lee Evans 21 286 4TDs about 23 X 388K And in a similar vein Buddy Nix has to address Stevie Johnson's contract this off season. He is under contract until 2011 season, but you don't wait until he is a restricted free agent to get someone that is clearly working hard and performing under contract. You get a new contract done the off season before free agency comes.

You only draft Quinn if he falls to the second, because of his character issues. You don't draft a player in the Top 3 or Top 10 that spend the 9 months leading up to the draft watching football on TV like you and me.

Adrian Clayborn, DE Iowa - highlights

The good news, is you can argue which one of these guys is better, maybi one of them is better than the others but non of them look like busts. -
FYI there are two school of thought, with lockout of 2011. Players will stay in, if the can. If there is a lockout there have been questions thrown around how the rookies will get paid, and how the NLFPA will take care of the rookies. If a player isn't guaranteed to be a first round, the guaranteed money really starts tappers off by about half. The 32 pick in 2010 got 6.6 guaranteed and 33 pick got 3.9 guaranteed. So if you're not playing you don't get any game checks, and you'll have to live off of you're million dollar (boo-hoo) signing bonus for a year. Where a 5th, 6th, & 7th round pick may need to bag groceries for a year before they can collect there dozens of thousands of dollar game checks. The other school of thought, this may be the last year where there are ridiculous signing bonuses if there is a rookie salary cap in 2012. Which it seems that there may be some kind of form of salary cap in 2012. So Here is a list of the Top 10 Seniors from Scouts Inc.: 1. Jake Locker QB Washington 96 2. Prince Amukamara CB Nebraska 96 3. Stephen Paea DT Oregon State 96 4. Adrian Clayborn DE Iowa 95 5. Ryan Kerrigan DE Purdue 94 6. Allen Bailey DE Miami 93 7. Derek Sherrod OT Miss. St. 93 8. Cameron Heyward DE Ohio State 92 9. Anthony Castonzo OT Boston Coll. 92 Top 20 with Underclassmen 1. Andrew Luck* QB Stanford 97 2. Patrick Peterson* CB LSU 97 3. Da'Quan Bowers* DE Clemson 97 4. Marcell Dareus* DT Alabama 97 5. Jake Locker QB Washington 96 6. Prince Amukamara CB Nebraska 96 7. A.J. Green* WR Georgia 96 8. Robert Quinn* DE North Carolina 96 9. Stephen Paea DT Oregon State 96 10. Adrian Clayborn DE Iowa 95 11. Akeem Ayers* OLB UCLA 95 12. Ryan Kerrigan DE Purdue 94 13. Ryan Mallett* QB Arkansas 94 14. Janoris Jenkins* CB Florida 94 15. Allen Bailey DE Miami 93 16. Mark Ingram* RB Alabama 93 17.Derek Sherrod OT Miss. St. 93 18. Cameron Heyward DE Ohio State 92 19. Anthony Castonzo OT Boston Coll. 92

Agree with this as well but that second #1 should be a LB. You can trade down to say #7 and still get Clayborn from Iowa. But it takes two to tango. Also becarefull with the "Best Player Available Talk" Patrick Peterson from LSU, is being rated as better shutdown corner than Revis or Asomugha. If he is there when pick he would be the "best player available." I'm not saying we draft the guy but draft scouts are creaming themselves over this guy. So if you say best player available, you need to realize that in 2010 there are 2 CBs that are rated as top 5 talent Prince Amukamara is another top rated CB but Peterson is rated as high as the #2 player behind Luck on a lot of boards. And I know this board would implode if Nix took a DB with the top3 pick.

Adrian Clayborn, DE Iowa - highlights
1B4IDie replied to Got_Wood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like that Iowa defense and I like that he is the Captain of that defense. We need a Defense leader. He is 6'3" 282. Is that good size for a 3-4 DE? Ngata is 6-4 350 but he is a freak of nature. Aaron Smith is 6-5 298. Richard Seymour is 6-6 310, I think he has played DE in a 3-4, and 4-3. Clayborn is projected as top 15 talent and top D-Line player. So if somehow we rip off 4, (yeah right) it might not be so bad for drafting, because Clayborn should be there 7-12 range. Marcell Dareus is another guy on that 'Bama defense that could be 1st round talent on the D-Line. If Fitzy can keep this up, drafting the best Front 7 defensive player in 2010 makes a lot of sense. Yes, he is IronHead Heyward Jr. (RIP Ironhead) Guy has a sick motor. I don't if he is being projected as a Top3 pick, but again if we rip off a couple wins, we'll have some good options for the Front 7. Even if we don't taking 1 of these guys looks like a good pick, but you'll be paying them a ton of money in the Top3. -
OK I see whats going on here, Lets pretend its not CJ Spiller, lets say its Joe McGilacutty. Joe McGilacutty catches the ball Two and half yards deep with 10 point lead and 58 seconds left in the half, do you want Joe running the ball back or do you want a hot QB to get the ball back in his hands and have him try to make something happen? Besides the fact that there hasn't been a logical response to running the kick out in that situation besides: "Its a Spiller he should, ah, run kicks and stuff and make things happen and stuff because he was, ah drafted and stuff."
-
I was at the game so I don't get the benefit of a million TV reviews; but there was definitely a pass breakup by Pos where the ball hit both of his hands when he was standing up. In the stadium it looked like a dropped INT. It took :10 for him to fumble it at the 27, so it will take more than 8 for him to get to the 50. How is putting the ball in your offense's hand conservative? Spiller sits down and the Bills have :58 seconds to go 55 yards and kick a field goal before the half. I'm surprised you guys drill McKelvin but give Spiller a Pass. If you don't learn from your mistakes . . .

You guys are slamming the OP. It is a very naive view of the NFL. Players play for years in their positions and to converting players is very rarely done in the NFL. George Wilson, Devin Hester, and Troy Brown off the top of the head; and there probably not much more in the modern NFL. Looking at Maybin (6-4 250{yeah right}) and Shawn Nelson (6-5, 240) they have very similar builds. On a scale of crazy from 1-100, with 100 being batshit crazy, I'd say this is a 75. Definitely crazy, but hey he is under contract why not see if he has any hands, and can pick up a blitz. If he's not working at DE and can catch why not give it a spin before you cut him next year. George Wilson being a good Safety is probably an 80 on the crazy scale.
