  1. I know!!! Troy Smith is a gamer. If he didn't get some kind of crazy infection he would have been the starter in B-more while Flacco "developed". I'm glad he is finally getting some deserved PT.
  2. I don't know what you mean by hindsight, Poz was 1 on 1 with Calvin Johnson. I will give you that Poz is the defensive QB and should have known better than to allow the play to continue with him 1 on 1 with Megatron.
  3. I agree 100 % I posted this in week 6 and was piled on mercilessly. Lee Evans is a myth.
  4. Sorry I forgot about you're reading comprehension. We were talking about Ryan Fitzpatrick's inaccuracy vs. Ryan Mallet's inaccuracy. I maintain Ryan Mallet is more accurate and has a higher potential than Ryan Fitzpatrick but that's IMO.
  5. I'm sorry I mis-typed. I meant to type "ajzepp eats doo-doo at recess" Way to stay on topic genius.
  6. I agree with that. Everyone is entitled to a different view. Mallet is definitely an unknown quantity, and the same film can be viewed differently through different looking glasses. I see potential with a lack of durability. I do maintain that it is possible he may be less accurate in the NFL than his 67% BCS completion percentage shows but he is not as scatter armeded as Fitzy, and I like Fitzy alot. Like much more than the average Bills fan. I think Fitzy will be a great starter for 2011.
  7. BS. Megatron is not a TE or just an average WR. He is one of the most dangerous WRs in the NFL. During the week you practice, if for some reason we have a LB on #81 you call a timeout or audible, to get DB help. You never, ever, ever, ever have a LB 1 on 1 with Calvin Megatron Johnson, thats how you find ways to lose. It is absolutely the D-COs fault the defense wasn't prepared for this situation.
  8. I'm sorry you had an irrelevant OP. Does this make you feel better:
  9. I gave my wang a hand.
  10. 100% agree with the OP. There is no excuse to have Poz on Megatron. That has to be practiced and planned for during the week. (pssst. Lee Evans is not #1 WR. It's a myth he is double covered, but don't let 2BD see this, they will defend the myth to no end)
  11. Good reading comprehension. People that use the word "!@#$tard" should be neutered. I expect you have reported yourself to the proper authorities and will have your ovaries or testes removed.
  12. I've watched 75% of all of Arkansas games and if you think Mallet is scattered arm nearly as close Fitzpatrick you are watching a different Arkansas team. This would be the Arkansas Razorbacks that Malllet plays for.
  13. It's very likely the Bills lose any tie breaker based on Strength of schedule. In the situation posted by the OP right now the Bills would pick 3rd.
  14. um, if he only has 100m when his career is over, he would have had a crappy career. Contract plus endorsements would be 100s of millions.
  15. If you go to Astrobot's site, you can play around with draft order.
  16. You have some valid points but can you atleast try to get the facts correct. Look it up Ryan Mallet has 67% completion percentage and doesn't have the scatter shot arm of Fitzy by any stretch of the imagination if you actually watch him play. Brohm is not Mallet, you can watch both of them in game. Mallet is strong armed, and contrary to 2008 draftnik information, is an accurate passer. By that logic you don't want Luck because Trent Edwards cam from Stanford. They are two different players. Yes they play a lot of 1 read and throw in the offensive system and yes that is a reason to deduct points from Mallet. However a talent evaluator has to decide if its the system or the player. That is the real decision point. Many people think its the player, some people think its the system. His Back up lit up Auburn's secondary as well as the Arkasnas offense. Tyler Wilson threw two interceptions in that game over 4 TDs, Mallet has 5 interceptions on the whole season over 24 TDs. Plus why can't he read defenses? Its not 1950. Black QBs can learn NFL systems.
  17. Can we all just chill with these outragous rookie contract numbers. Mathew Stafford signed a 6 year 72 million with 41.7 million guaranteed http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/draft09/news/story?id=4097641 Sam Bradford signed a 6 year 78 million contract with $50 Million guaranteed http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=5425041 If for some reason NFL owners sign a rookie to a contract during a lockout, which if there is a lock out signings will not happen, with 100% accuracy, the contract would be at most 6 year 85 million with $60 million guaranteed in 2011 following the growth of the last two years So when we throw out this numbers lets not get crazy and start talking about $100 million guaranteed or next it will be $300 million guaranteed. In all likehood after the lockout is over and rookies are signed there will be some type of reigned in system in place starting in 2011, regardless of what The Mort Reports says. Meaning that 4 year 50-60 mil with 25-30 mil is what the #1 pick in 2011 is going to get. NFLPA wants years off of the contract, so they can be Free Agents sooner, and the NFL wants reigned in guaranteed money.
  18. QBs tend to shoot up the rankings as draft time comes near, an injured Sam Bradford shot all the way up to #1, from a mid first to early second ranking in Nov 2009. Most sites have Mallet as the #12-25 overall ranking right now. Why would he be moved down as draft time approaches? My question for Astrobot is how does Mallet's ranking compare to Stafford and/or Bradford? In my non expert opinion, Mallet looks like a prospect with a higher ceiling than both Stafford and Bradford. I highly doubt that a team like KC would pass on Mallet in the mid to late draft, you have KC with a need of 3 at QB, Center, and WR. Cassel hasn't been the stud they hoped for and Mallet would be extremely tempting if he were there. There is almost no way a talent like Mallet falls to the second. If there were 2 or 3 Andrew Lucks in the draft, then possibly, but unless he suffers some kind of major injury I would bet any amount of money Mallet is drafted before 25. Also getting Cameron Heyward in the second and Andrew Luck in the first is a Buffalo Bills fan wet dream. Are you kidding me? If that happened I would have major wood!
  19. I disagree Mallet looks good on his own merits, but you're correct about being concerned with taking him at #3. Is he really a franchise changing QB? He might be. I think Mallet has more potential than Sam Bradford. Running QBs like Cam Newton rarely pan out in the NFL. But Cam is starting to look special as a thrower too. That pass before half was a NFL quality pass. He does have a little too much wobble on his ball and his receivers had two huge drops. I'm starting to think if the Bills pass on a QB in the top three. Cam Newton is there in the second it could be tempting. As long as the FBI doesn't go after him personally on the money trail or the IRS doesn't get involved for tax avation, he is really showing off his arm these days and just seems like a special leader. I'm still not a believer but Cam Newton is starting to make a compelling case. If he works with an NFL QB coach for a year to get that throwing motion consistent , the kid has a high ceiling but is definitely high risk / high reward type of draft pick. I worry the Bills can't afford the risk.
  20. Sounds like you want to be partners with Murray. I'm pretty sure that's frowned upon in GA but the two of you can tie the knot in DC. The Bills have to make a draft decision in the 2011 draft. Mallet isn't "clutch" compared to John Elway either. Plus as Georgia fan I'm sure you love most Arkansas players. Sure Murray may be a swell kid but he won't be in the draft that is why the comparisons are irrelevant. Mallet may not be in the 2011 draft either. If Murray and Mallet both come out for the 2012 draft then this is some good analysis. Thanks.
  21. 1. No it doesn't make any sense. 2. What does McNabb have to do with Merriman? 3. Be Specific, who specifically do you think the Bills should have put a claim for that was cut at LB? 4. Bills Management has sucked for 10 years, in other news the sun rises in the East. Again the Bills' "management" has done a lot wrong, but picking up Merriman and rolling the dice on help at LB isn't really one of the things they have done wrong.
  22. You know this doesn't make any sense, right? We're discussing a specific player his name is Shawne Merriman, so who is player X and who is player y? Nix made a no risk move to bolster a weakness at LB. You should consider changing your name to Sisyphean Attack; because you're really working OT to try and disparage the Bills "management."
  23. Except that never happened. Watch the Merriman presser Merriman says he spoke with Nix prior. Plus 2 other teams made a claim for him so the Bills weren't alone in thinking there was something left in the tank. There is plenty to attack the Billy Goats' management for this is not one. The rolled they dice and took a chance to add a possible impact player for pretty cheap. What it is the downside. 1.9 mil in salary? That's only 4 Kelsay game checks, not a bad deal.
  24. His 2010 salary is $2,978,630 The Bills are on the hook for half.
  25. #1 No need to rewrite history, Locker was not consensus #1 overall. Locker went back to school because his advisors told him that he had a second or third round grade by most scouts. He went back to school to improve his draft status he failed at that. #2 Luck is not Locker. Luck was rated higher than Locker last year and has only improved this year. The point that Luck is concensus #1 QB this year and cannot go any higher is a valid point. #3 There will absolutely be reeled in rookie signing in 2011. It makes zero sense for the NFL owners to lock out players and then go spend crazy money on rookies that will be standing on picket lines. If you think any different you can add your well thought out thoughts here. http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/123078-signing-2011-draft-picks/page__p__2031599#entry2031599 #4 You forget that for some players the money will always be there. Sam Bradford had the worst case scenario last year and still went first overall. #5 "I will discuss entering the draft with my family and coaches" is the answer by every underclassman ever in the history of time. It means nothing; Tim Tebow used it his Junior year, and Sam Bradford used it. Its the same as not saying anything at all. What do you expect him to say? The Truth is at this point in time no one knows what Luck is going to decide. There are a lot of reasons why he could come out, one last year of huge rookie signings is not one. Not to mention that the difference between a $35 million dollar rookie salary cap contract and $55 million dollar uncapped contract is minimal over the long term if Luck believes that he can make it the NFL. A player of Luck's potential will never play the contract out. If he is a franchise quarterback it would be renegotiated before the back loaded final year. If he were concerned he was not NFL material, he would come out now to get the most guaranteed money. That is one of the reasons why these discussion do not swirl around Mallet and Cam Cameron. They do not have the concensus #1 QB tag and there are more questions of whether or not they can make a successful QB in the NFL. So they need to take the money when they can get it. There are a lot of personal reasons Luck may stay, the Bills having the #1 overall is not likely one. You can bicker of the unknowable all you want, but get your facts correct in your squabble. Only time will tell.
