  1. Its the same system Lopez added Wonderlic to Lewin's observations on Football outsiders and then put hard cut off numbers, that is the evolution that I eluded to earlier. JaMarcus Russell passes the 27-60 part so that makes me worried about this rule. So JaMarcus was 24-30-60. So I'm not really putting too much credence into these "rules" anymore. They look like loose guidelines. Or Just another tool to help decide between two candidates. If Luck comes out in 2011, assuming a good wonderlic which I think everyone would agree he will kill the wonderlic, he'll be 30+ -21!-63ish Mallet will be, lets assume Mallet gets a 26 on the wonderlic, 26-30-57! Locker would be,lets just assume Locker gets a 26 on the wonderlic, 26-35-57! I'd still take Luck first even though he doesn't meet the 27 part of the rule. Even if Mallet finishes the last 3 games with 100% completion percentage I don't think he will finish his career above 60% completion percentage. Thats news to me.
  2. I ordered ticket to the Bills @ ViQueens and they sent me this survey. I wonder if the Bills do anything like that. Should I tell them to trade a 3rd for Lee Evans? Please please please take our super #1 WR, please please please. Then cut him and we can put in a waiver claim for him, or not. 3. This has already been posted. But if you tone the Blue down out other than Neon section and change the number font they're not so bad.
  4. What do wins have anything to do with how the players play? This thread would be valid if we were 0-9.
  5. I'm buying C-NYSE while its cheap, already up 17%, buy Low Sell High. Citibank ain't going nowheres.
  6. hmmm . . . interesting you have that opinion I would agree with you on winning. T.O. had way too many drops on a 2009 Bills team that barely threw the ball. T.O.'s 9 dropped passes over the Bills 441 total passes represents 2% of the total Bills Pass attempts that were dropped by T.O last year. T.O. Already has 9 dropped passes in 2010. http://stats.washingtonpost.com/fb/leaders.asp?range=nfl&type=receiving&rank=232 I would have pulled out my hair had T.O. been playing in 2010 for the Bills. I do appreciate his apparent honesty in the interview, I see no reason he would make any of that up.
  7. After Re-reviewing the "Lewin System" It looks like a total crock. The system basically says if you're choosing between two QBs look at completion percentage and starts; however it has evolved into 60% and 36 starts as the bust detector. Which Big Purp Russell would fail on starts, although he had 30. Funny thing is Brian Brohm is discussed in this Lewin system article: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3350135 The fact the system had the result it had in 2008 means it don't work. So I stand corrected less than 60% passer rating may not be the bust indicator I thought it was. However just general lack of consistent play and some Major bad games, including an inability to get wins is a reason why I would never draft Locker in the first 2 rounds. I do expect him to fall like McCoy come 2011 draft. I watched the Nebraska game for one and it was embarrassing that Locker would be considered a first for the Bills while watching that game, but to be fair Nebraska's defense has proven to embarrass a lot of college QBs.
  8. Have you see the Oregon duck jerseys? This are in the same vein. I actually the steel diamond plate on the Steelers its pretty cool. If the pulled back a little on the Neon Blue, I could like these jerseys but as some else stated they need to change the font on the numbers. It throws everything off.
  9. Locker has as much a chance going in the first as Claussen and McCoy had of going in the first. As in 0.0% chance. If Mallet is there in the 1st, its very possible. Locker fails the basic early round QB bust test; which is > 60% completion
  10. and 40% worst case which is different than sucking. The Redskins have 0% which is the Bills in 2008 That sucks.
  11. You're right, I'll take back the turnstile on Butler, he just pissed me off with his abrupt retirement, You can go be a lobbyist in 10 years, capitol Hill isn't going anywhere. But the point being 2010 Buffalo Bills O-Line is average to just below average. Where the 2008 O-Line was horrible, to criminal.
  12. Derrick Dockery and Brad Butler were freaking turnstiles, and Duke Preston was a joke. I mean that literally, I have images of Dockery spinning with arms out wide, like a freaking turnstile while the D-Lineman blows past him, multiple times. and he did the same thing in DC last year. Talk about not earning ****. Getting paid millions to sit there and watch while you endanger another man's life is a good gig if you can get it. That sucked. You don't have that kind of consistent pressure in Fitzy's face anymore. Hangartner does miss some assignments now and again but in 2008 every play either G or C would screw up. The 2008 O-Line would have killed Fitzy by now, Levi Brown would be getting PT after Brohm got demolished.
  13. Exactly an O-line can't be expected to pass block for 9 seconds. But they are giving Fitzy 3.5 seconds which is the minimum you need. In 2008 they weren't giving the QB 2.5 seconds and they had a QB that needed 12 seconds to make a pass. That sucked. Exactly. When I hear our O-Line sucks, I think of 2008 O-Line that would have a lineman in the QB's face almost immediately after snap. The 2010 Line doesn't suck, they're just average, they're giving the QB a little bit of time to make a play on most plays; Which is different than sucking.
  14. It is kind of funny. WTF was Harbaugh thinking? You are QB in the NFL, your hands are very important to you, maybe try Kicking Jimbo in the balls instead. Its like when you see WRs punch a CB's helmet, WTF? You make millions of dollars by using your hands to catch, don't bash them on a hard service. He basically ended his own career because he couldn't take criticism by a color commentator. Real genius coaching material.
  15. The Bills have invested two top 50 picks in the O-Line. Hangartner makes mistakes but he is an average Center, not great but does more good than harm; A serviceable vet; (PLus who knows maybe he is veteran leader for Wood and Levitre I don't think alot of people know what goes on in the O-line practice and meeting but Hangartner seems to be doing something right) Bell has physical ability and appears to be finally putting it together on the field, not All Pro right now, but he is only a turnstile every so often. The RT sucks, right now we have the turnstile of the week. So of the 5 positions I would say we have 2 above average; with 1 burgeoning all pro (Wood) 1 serviceable Vet 1 Developing talent that has proven so far in 2010 that he can play in the NFL. He just needs to develop consistency. (Peters didn't walk in day 1 and dominate, and never really was able to get past the excessive penalties even in Philly) 1 Turnstile. The Line is better than about 10 other teams lines, including an injury riddled Pittsburgh line. So lets get off the, "our O-Line sucks" box. Since most many people probably only know the O-Line sucks based on others' assessments lets start leading the charge for "our O-line is average" (Next Step for O-line is a top 60 pick on a RT, then depth at interior, so that Wood can eventually take over at Center, and or get depth to replace the Hangman in a few years. If Bell continues to develop and we get stability at RT in 2011 then in 2012 we can say we have an above average O-Line barring any injuries.)
  16. "You should give back all that money, you ain't earned ****!" Plus he is a big nasty on the field. Plus his name is WOOD!!! Winner! As soon as the Bills finish a season above .500 I'm buying a Wood Jersey (I used to buy a jerset every year but I vowed I would not buy any more merch until they finished a season with atleast 9 wins)
  17. It was in a hotel for pre game interviews. Probably another reason, besides the talking like he has marbles in his mouth, that Jim Kelly was never successful with a cross over to the booth. http://www.highbeam.com/doc/1P2-746436.html http://www.nytimes.com/1998/08/05/sports/pro-football-the-new-line-on-harbaugh-he-has-a-line.html
  18. Ofcourse there were people calling for his benching. People haven't changed much over time. They just have access to a world wide place to spout their stupidity. I remember the father of a friend calling for Kelly to benched in Super Bowl XXVII, he waned "The Reich one Baby!" This was pre game, before the blowout.
  19. Look a little deeper into Kolb, he is 3-3 as a starter, and lit up the worst defenses in the NFL in 2009. Against average competition he looks human. Kind of like Rob Johnson. In the entire history of the Buffalo Bills, they have taken 2 QBs in the first round. Jim Kelly #14 and JP LOSSman #22 So another typical B Bills pick would be coming up with reasons NOT to take a QB, and then spending a decade as a basement dweller. Besides the 60s and 90s, the Bills have been a joke of a franchise, maybe not taking a chance on the most important individual in a team game might have something to do with it. I agree that Troy Smith is a special player, I'm glad he is finally getting a chance to prove it. Now that Troy Smith has been named the starter in San Francisco I don't expect him to lose that role for a few years, if the 9ers are smart. (which they aren't)
  20. Talent isn't really the most important or Ryan Leaf and Tim Couch would have translated to the NFL. But I thought Fitz "is", i didn't know that he "should be" Does that mean "I should be." How do I know "I am" This is blowing my mind!
  21. If he were 265 I'd be interested. We don't need another featherweight out there. Let's see what Mo-Ats Moots. Mo-Ats. Can do. "Quiet back there I've taken enough guff from you all day. "
  22. It has happened in the past it will happen again. So say we all.
  23. Very simple draft rule that will weed out the busts early . Do not draft a QB with under 60% completion percentage in the first two rounds. After round 2 go ahead but the one thing that EARLY round busts have in common is not enough starts and less than 60% completion percentage. Locker is risky early. Notice how the OP asks for specifics and the Luck folks wax poetic. Also "He posses all of the traits you want" including the aforementioned ability to walk on water. BUT yes watch the games yourself. You'll see that your gut was right. He definitely isn't the second coming of John Elway, but he is a good QB prospect. The key to understand the Luck rating is that he is not the QB prospect with the most potential. He is the QB prospect with the LEAST amount of Risk. He will be a good QB.
