  1. Whodat, take it back a couple more posts. I wasn't trying to attack you personally. Is that you, Leodis? +1 This is much more likely to be McDrainBramage. Notice no letters were harmed in the making of that post, plus the poster's name is Whodat. I was trying to make a joke, it went sideways, Sorry if you were personally offended it wasn't meant to attack you in any way (unless you actually are McKelvin ) It may have been in bad taste to make fun of McKelvin's poor public speaking ability but making a habit of dropping kickoff returns drives me crazy. I don't know where the envy and cerebral gifts comments are coming from, but sorry if you were offended, I wasn't going after you. Go Bills!
  2. So you originally compared Mendenhall, and Steve Jackson with Spiller, and now you decided to change your tune. Now its, "well Steven Jackson was drafted 15 spots after CJ Spiller. So If you're drafted #24 you get a year, if you're drafted #9 you don't get a year." Awesome opinion, thanks. Spiller has had little impact through the first 12 games and was drafted with #9 pick. Great, you accessed the obvious, Amazing analysis. No one is arguing the obvious. Care to offer anything original or insightful? Its Week 14 Spiller is on the roster, what do you suggest the Bills do? (As a side note the Oakland Raiders are 6-6 and have an outside chance at a Wild Card. Also even though ESPN likes to make fun of Al Davis outside of JaWalrus and Darrius Heyward-Bey, they have had 4 years of very good draft picks that are making a difference on the field. http://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/rai/draft.htm)
  3. Hold up sparky. You're mostly right-on with your ideas but lets get the facts straight first. #1.) - Whateves - college football regular season is over the bulk of the scouting has already taken place. I don't know what effect that is going to have on the 2011 draft, but yes we have flopped on our 1st round picks for over a decade. No one has paid the piper for these flops beside the revolving doors of coaches and GMs, that is. #2.) - Edwards was a DC for the Redskins and Florida Gators, but yeah he isn't proving to be very good. Doubt anyone would shed a tear, but for a franchise that continually changes coaches, it doesn't seem like changing coaches has much effect. #3.) There will be no Free Agent signings on March 1st. The extended "no cap" year of 2010 is over, the CBA completely expires on March 1st 2011 and it doesn't look there is going to be anything resolved before then. But to your greater greater point whenever Free Agency starts this year, the Bills need to be ready to offer and sign players to fill needs. #4.) Jake Locker is not regarded by any NFL scout as a 1st round pick, and there are really only people drinking Hatorade that think Mallet or Newton will not be picked in the 1st. Both Newton and Mallet are a bit of reach at pick 5 but QBs tend to shoot up the board as there are barely 32 people in the World that are capable of being a good NFL QB. So if the Bills took Mallet at #5 although the haters will come out of the wood work it wouldn't be an extremely unlikely pick. #5.) Very good point you are right on. Nix drafted only captains and definitely reached way into the Sun Belt conference to make picks, Which I agree was strange. The Bills as an organization have a history of picking from Ohio State and then many smaller schools in small conferences, it can't be a coincidence. I would think pulling in big time talent that played in big time games and Won could only help. Clearly Nix is trying to build an organization that has character and started in the 2010 draft unlike Levy's "character" lip service. Its definitely not a recipe for a rapid turn around and no Bills fan should expect a rapid turnaround. Nix has made it clear there will be more pain before there is pleasure. I expect him to have a similar draft style in 2011 draft, drafting captains and leaders whether it be from large or small programs. I may not agree with the strategy but atleast there appears to be a strategy.
  4. What specifically are you right about? Spiller is having a slow start to his career. No ****. No one is arguing the contrary. To make the assumption that the first 12 games of his career is indicative of the rest of his career, is foolish and impatient. I agree with that. Hardy and Maybin were busts from Day 1, and Trent was a 3rd round QB, that played ok until he was buried alive in Arizona. I can see how people can be impatient, but can we atleast give the kid 16 maybe 32 games before we start calling for his head?
  5. You compared Spiller to the running backs listed. I was responding to your comparison. You realize when you add all caps and exclamation points it makes your posts look irrational. Kind of like calling a Player out for being a wasted pick after 12 games in their career. Reggie Bush was picked #2 overall and averages 500 Yards rushing, 400 yards receiving, and 8 TD a season, thats 7 picks before Spiller. Spiller isn't going anywhere. Chan will find a way to get him the ball. There are still 4 weeks left in the season and 4 years after this season left on his contract. If at the end of 2011 he still hasn't been on the field and still isn't performing, don't worry you will have a lot of company on the Spiller hater squad, you don't get an award for being early though.
  6. There were mock threads back in September dude. Jeremy Beal will be gone before the second, he has been moving up the draft charts. But the Bills would be extremely luck to get him in th 3rd if somehow he fell.
  7. You realize that not all the RBs you quoted had a good rookie year? Mendenhall 19 for 58yards 3.1ypc 0TD Steven Jackson 134 for 673yards 5.0ypc 4TDs Addai is the only 1000 yard back in his rookie year and his career is hardly considered a success, he is averaging 880 yards a season coming into this year, and the average will go down since he hasn't been able to stay on the field. So maybe you're being a little too critical of Spiller, too early. Mendenhall was benched the second game of his second year and something finally clicked, but he is still averaging about 60 yards a game, not amazing numbers. People in Pittsburgh were calling for Mendenhall's head in early 2009, those complaints were too early and too critical as well.
  8. Does that include calling yourself out when you're being an arrogant douche, or is that just another character flaw?
  9. We need special teamers and LBs, he has to be better than watched Maybin get rag dolled.
  10. I believe every voter that is afraid of Cam's off field issues will vote for Andrew Luck. Which one of these NFL talents will avoid the Heisman jinx?
  11. He saw who the quitters are, and he learned that Maybin cannot shut his mouth. I watched Maybin on the bench from the stands and the young man almost never stopped talking to someone or something, while the person or inanimate object just starred at him, like "who are you, again?".
  12. The problem is he is repeating the same mistakes, not turning his head in coverage and identifying the ball, and fumbling kickoffs. His mistakes are having a bigger impact on the game than his good plays. He is definitely a talented athlete he needs to spend some major time practicing ball security and coverage drills. He gets another year to show improvement, IMO before any serious cut/trade discussions take place.
  13. I'm rubber you're glue whatever you say bounces of me and sticks to you. Get a sense of humor.
  14. This is much more likely to be McDrainBramage. Notice no letters were harmed in the making of that post, plus the poster's name is Whodat.
  15. Notice the "If" and try reading past the first sentence. You got a point the players on the field today could be great depth guys if we were able to hit on the early picks.
  16. I agree with Dorkington, Favre thought he might have something left in the tank and he went out fighting. That's what the great ones do, they fight until the end and never quit (Schobel I'm looking at you, you big kitty cat.) Atleast I can say I was there for Favre's last game.
  17. I don't think Marv Levy's post was dope-ish. It's probably more of a dope move to nit-pick 1 line out of an all together good post than start name calling.
  18. No it couldn't be; notice the use of the English language.
  19. I agree that he has talent and that the coaching staff should work with him. However next year is his last year to prove he can learn. I fear that McDrainBramage does not have the ability to learn. 3 years on the job he still can't turn his head to locate the ball. 3 years on the job he still has ball security issues on Kickoffs. You absolutely cannot allow McDrainBramage to return Kickoffs or punts anymore this season. A fumble on a kickoff is devastating for a good team and almost a game ender for a below average team. That fumble was the turning point in the game and gave the ViQueens the mo' that eventually won them the game. The way he plays he is a liability to the defense and special teams. He has to show improvement late in the year and preseason next year. I'm just worried it might be a lost cause.
  20. If Modrak is incharge of the quality picks the Bills make from 3-7 and the undrafted free agents then he is doing an amazing job. If there really is a committee approach to the 1st and 2nd picks then that committee needs to be blown up. Whoever is drafting the late rounds should be given the early rounds as well. It can't possibly be the same group. The High drafts are obvious busts, well maybe just Maybin. McDrainBramage was rated the #1 CB coming into the draft and "fell" to the Bills at #11, the other teams must have realized how dumb the young man is, and thought he might not be coachable. Which is true, you think after the first 3 fumbled kickoff returns he'd practice better ball security. Either way whoever is drafting late needs to get the reigns early.
  21. I can't !@#$ing believe they had him returning kicks today. WTF were they thinking???!!!
  22. They just signed a 6'7" 272 pound "TE". I'm thinking he can handle you, big guy.
  23. Dude check the string, I was responding to a nincompoop that was claiming Tampa's turn around was a result of them losing out and getting a high draft pick. I was debunking that nonsense.
  24. I think Leonhard was TD/Mularkey/Jerry Gray signing. But DJ actually used him and played him as a LB at some point in the cover2 DJ being a former NFL DB thought all 11 players on defense should be under 6 feet, under 200 pounds and be really really fast; a plan that amazingly proved to be flawed.
  25. I'd suggest Alpha-Bits, you could probably get all the words in one box.
