Tentative 2011 Opponents (Assuming there's a 2011 season)
1B4IDie replied to calbear's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We played AFC West in 2008 and that was @Denver and @Kansas City So that means 2011 is at @Oakland and @San Diego This one looks correct: http://www.johnnyroadtrip.com/schedules/nfl_future_afce.htm Sorry Jay its @OAK instead of @KC My bad. -

KC has the best tailgating (besides Rich Wilson Stadium) in the NFL. Had a blast. The parking lot was filled at 7am and the team stunk. Now they're good so I imagine it will be an even crazier tailgate. You'll have a blast. Great fans, great BBQ. Check out Jack Stacks and Arthur Murry's (sp?) -

So Roethlisberger and Ryan were just winging the ball 30 times a game during those runs like they are now? Lets get this straight they weren't. It took them time to be "The Man" The 2009 Atalnta Team was about Michael Turner and Norwood. Not Ryan's 17TDs and 11Ints. And we know Roethlisberger was just a custodian QB in that first season, that was about defense and the running game. Past 1st Round QB picks are used as a comparison to the possibilities they can offer to the Bills. I don't know why that would be confusing or hard to understand.

What does week 1-15 have anything to do with this? I never said they quit in those games. They did quit against the Pats, they didn't have a problem moving the ball they had a problem holding on to the ball. It was the Bills that gave the game away. Through turnovers and drops. As well as a lack of effort to stop the Run. Run defense is about will. The Bills will was broken. The Bills aren't on in my area, I can't get the Dish and I have to make a big effort to get to a location and back to watch them. Much more of an effort than they put in on Sunday.

"NEWSFLASH" It took years for Roethlisberger and Ryan to develop too. And will take years for Bradford to develop as well. Mallet has more potential than Stafford or Bradford.

So the Jets are in the playoffs and lost to the Ravens but beat the Steelers. The Steelers will beat up the Browns in week 17 and win the AFC North. Meaning the Jets are stuck at the #6 seed win or lose. I was looking forward to the possibility of the Bills knocking the Hard Knocks Jets out of the playoffs. For the first time this season the Bills quit. They quit against the Pats in the second quarter, body language, attitude, and play all looked defeated. Usually by week 13 watching the Bills is too painful to bear. This year they lasted to the 1st quarter of week 16 until they gave up. The Jets game is meaningless, I fully expect another half arsed effort against the Jets back ups. Week 17 will be the first game I'm skipping. Let the draft talk continue . . . I like Bowers at #4
-
Bowers is a sack artist too. Stout against the run and can get to the QB. He can play RushBacker. You can put him all over the field and the offense has to adjust coverage to where you put him. He is 6'4" 280 and could play at 275 and be just a huge quick rush backer in a 3-4. Sometimes he put his hands down, sometimes he stands up. Strange thing is that would be two years in a row the Bills take a Clemson player with their #1. No one is Aaron Maybin. Stop with Aaron Maybin comparisons. That was a stupid pick from the start. Out of the top 10 prospects Robert Quinn is the only one that would be in the Maybin one year wonder role plus Robert Quinn was suspended for the last year so he hasn't played football since the 2009 season. Although if you put Robert Quinn and Aaron Maybin in a cage and only one would come out. Quinn would destroy Maybin. IMO taking a guy that took the 2010 season off with a top 10 pick is extremely risky so Quinn would probably not be the best option however its very likely Quinn does play well in the NFL. Given Buddy Nix' draft style of taking Captains and character guys we don't have to worry about the Bills taking Quinn. Bowers fits what seems to be Nix' drafting style. Bowers is a team captain and team defensive leader. But seriously, the Bills made a stupid pick, there never had a chance. Maybin had almost no shot of being successful his rookie year. He needed to spend 2009 eating. THERE IS NO AARON MAYBIN IN THE 2011 DRAFT! LETS STOP THIS NONSENSE NOW.
-
BTW There is only 1 first day pick. The first round is now by itself. Rounds 2 and 3 the next day. Then 4-7 on the 3rd day. Go NFL! Get that money! Anyway, on the first day at #4 I would love Bowers or Fairly. Even though there are 7 players on the defense front, players like Bowers or Fairly make the other 6 look better. Add 1 of those guys to Kylie the Rockpile and two of those players will require the offense to use 3-4 blockers on EVERY PLAY. That leaves 5 other defense players that will be singled or unblocked giving the blitz package. Moats is learning to beat one on ones, and will get alot of one on ones with Bowers at strongside OLB (a la Harrison and Woodly) Kyle Williams in the middle and Moats at Weakside OLB (he was actually drafted to play ILB but was moved to OLB because of injury, You might as well keep him at OLB.) Pass coverage has to shift to the Bowers side. That is an immediate upgrade.
-
Although this is complete fantasy since the Pats would never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever do that. OfCourse this is a no brainer. The Bills get a great Pass Catching and blocking TE for the next 10 years. The Pats recycle RBs from the trash heap they don't overpay for 30+ year old RBs.

thanks Rachacha I watched the game. Wish I wouldn't have though.

The Official Gameday Thread: Patriots* at the Bills

What happened on the 4th and 12? It looked complete was he short. The stream blipped during that. I don't understand happened. -
If anyone gets one can you please share.

I moved QB and TE to P9. Everything else I left as is. We have drafted a TE 5 out of the last 7 years. We don't need to draft another late round TE. TE can be addressed in Free Agency. If Mallet is there when the Bills pick it would be tempting but taking Devlin or some other mid round QB is just a wasted pick, like taking another Derek Fine or Stupar.

Brohm should start last 2 games

Star Quality or blue collar?

Anyone know what Stevie did in college? I'll tell you, he made plays and made things happen. Anyone know what Stevie did with the few opportunities he got under JorON? He made plays. Anyone know what Stevie did when a competent offensive mind gave he an opportunity to start? He made plays. Anyone know what is going to happen next year or the year after when/if Stevie gets a chance to start? Well it's impossible to know but it's very likely he is going to make plays. That is what Stevie does. He makes plays, he makes things happen. -
Lesley Frasier should put Favre on ice

The ViQueens are punishing Brett for years of arse whippings. The ViQueens are taking the last few games of the season to try to get Brett killed on the football field. Seems pretty obvious to me. -
There used to be a busy street named after Arthur Moats, but they were forced to change the name because no on crosses the Moats and lives!

Moch Draft with Bills Picking at #12
1B4IDie replied to 1B4IDie's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills have the #1/32 SOS right now with 57% winning percentage of it's opponents, meaning they loose all tie breaks. Hence I used my brain, and count 12 teams that have 5 wins or less. Meaning worst/best case when the Bills beat the NJ Sucks and go 5-11, the simple best/worst case is the Bills draft #12. Doesn't really take much time or effort. The point is the worst/best situation as far as the draft position goes is one hell of a draft. Obviously some of those 5 win teams will win 1 or 2 games, but I wasn't too concerned with that for this mock. There could be a lot of defensive talent in the draft. -
Moch Draft with Bills Picking at #12

There are 15 teams that have 6 wins or worse right now. The Bills have the worst\best Strength of Schedule meaning we are going to lose all tie breaks. There are 12 teams that have 5 wins or worse now. If we won out its likely we would pick outside the Top 10. This draft is showing worst\best case draft scenario if we beat the NJ Jets. And it looks pretty great to me. In this specific scenario with those 3 off the board who would you take at #12? I'd be fine with Clayborn. Really there is a lot of talent here, it would take a Buffalo Billian first round flop detector to screw it up. 1 Carolina Andrew Luck QB Stanford 2 Cincinnati Nick Fairley DT43 Auburn 3 Denver Da'Quan Bowers DE34 Clemson 4 Detroit Prince Amukamara CB Nebraska 5 Arizona Patrick Peterson CB LSU 6 Dallas Marcell Dareus DE34 Alabama 7 Tennessee Bruce Carter OLB43 North Carolina 8 San Francisco A.J. Moch Draft with Bills Picking at #12
1B4IDie replied to 1B4IDie's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Definitely cause for concern. Again would Demarcus Love make you feel better in this mock? I didn't hand pick the picks, its a simulator. I'm not married to Costanzo if you think he is a scrub, I'll take your word for it. I have watched a lot of Arkansas this year to watch Ryan Mallet and Love would be a great addition to the Bills. I would have hand picked the Wayne Daniels and the Moch pick though. -
Moch Draft with Bills Picking at #12
1B4IDie replied to 1B4IDie's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm sure he has bad games in 2008 or 2007 you can pull some High School games too. Who cares. I'd be happy with Costanzo or Love at RT. Its really splitting hairs at this point. Love has a reputation for being nasty. However One game in 2009 isn't the whole story on a player. -

When we beat the S-U-C-Ks and go 5-11, with out Strength of Schedule we'll probably pick #12. -
Moch Draft with Bills Picking at #12

That may have been true in the year 2009. Do you think players get better over time in college? Castonzo spent a year honing his craft and improving while Quinn spent a year eating Pringles. Nice try though. In this draft we take Demarcus Love instead of Castonzo would that make you happy?
