  1. If you follow Buddy Nix' 2010 Drafting strategy of 4 year players, that were team Captains. I expect Buddy Nix' board to look like this: Cameron Jordan Von Miller Patrick Peterson If you're just talking my Personal Draft Board Marcel Dareus Nick Fairely Cam Jordan
  2. I just realized yesterday that people actually think Mel & McShay know what they're talking about. I find it amazing. They're consistently wrong year after year after year. Consistently show that they especially know very little when it comes to how NFL teams actually draft QBs in particular. But year after year somehow people listen to their opinions as if they have merit. It's entertainment people. It's like listening to a weatherman in a sitcom for your local forecast.
  3. The spread guys don't have low completion percentage. The total number of incompletions may be higher, because they pass more, but the completion percentage is higher on average. Its like saying if someone shoots 100 foul shots they'll have a higher shooting percentage than if they shoot 1000. The two factors are not related. Its a percentage.
  4. Thats big time football recruiting territory. How long have you been a D-Co there? You've had to have coached some, or coached against some 3,4 and 5 star recruits.
  5. You guys know that Buddy Nix was involved in drafting Florence in San Diego, right? (same draft class as McGee) He left San Diego for a huge payday in Jax then got cut after 1 year. I'm thinking there might be a relationship there that might bring him back to Buffalo. Regardless of the detractors Florence was solid and with a Gimpy McGee, an injured\raw Youbouty and Corner, raw\Dain Bramagaed McKelvin, Florence was probably our best CB in 2010.
  6. I see this: and remember this:
  7. "a blue collar type guy" Please explain? His fashion glasses and funky dances look a little more like an icon and entertainer to me.
  8. Pretty Worrisome Gabbert stats
  9. That is incorrect. A Spread offense increases completion percentage on average. (thats kind of the point of the spread offense)
  10. As a resident of the DC area that may be the closest I get to Football next year. Didn't Buffalo have the Destroyers, is that still around? I would think it can help the Bills. I wonder if other players will take that step, Don't have to really worry about injuries and can still be involved in the game, plus when you retire its like a internship for coaching in the NFL. Pretty smart by Drayton, in my opinion, if he gets the gig.
  11. Agreed but Cam Jordan is a 3 down lineman that can be put in in the inside in the Nickel, and has played in a 3-4 and 4-3, and a hybrid system in college and been productive and a disruptive force. I don't know if you can pigeon hole him as a 5 technique. I'd agree with the Drop off statement as well. The 10th ranked 3-4 DE can probably make a roster and contribute. The 10th ranked QB might not make a roster or just be a practice squad QB. RB and CB may be a different story and I think the 10th ranked LT is called a RT. You have categories of RB & CB, In my opinion there are ones that can walk in and start and ones that need to be coached up to contribute. The difference between the 5th ranked RB & CB and 15th ranked RB & CB is probably negligible. In my opinion its the top of the class that can contribute right away where there is probably the biggest difference.
  12. 3-4 DEs don't get alot of sacks. They go to the pro bowl when they collapse pockets and require the offensive line to use atleast two players to block them, like our current Pro Bowler at NT. Fairely, or Dareus won't be sack masters in the NFL but will be top 5 picks too. "Merely a pocket collapser" like the NFL is filled with unblockable defenders that require offenses to adjust and allow the rest of the defense to get 1 on 1s or left unblocked. A pocket collapser is an elite player that is one of the hardest players to find that's why they generally go in the top 10, and WRs, CBs and LBs don't generally go that high.
  13. How about 11wins -13 losses, 57% completition percentage, 38tds and 20 ints the last two years. That's scary enough on it's own. Then a 20 wonderlic even scarier.
  14. Hangartner is on the 3rd year of a 4 year 10 mil contract. He seems like a journeyman O-Line man, and has some major missed assignments a few times a game. I'm of the mindset that Wood was drafted as the long term solution at C at Hangartner played better than expected. Its strange to draft a RG in the 1st round. There is probably an accelerated 4th year salary with a a roster bonus so I wouldn't be suprised if Hangartner is cut after this season if a replacement Guard pans out. That Means the line would like Bell Levitre Wood Moffit RT, for the long term. Which is the makings of a pretty sick O-Line. (BTW Ponder is ACC, which is pretty much as strong as the WAC)
  15. I like that they dance to the beat of their own drummer you can tell they're not recycling. They are more often right that wrong imo. The one difference I find so strange at Draftek is Pouncy in the late 2nd. There is no question he will go in the #20-40. There is no no no way, a sure thing like Pouncy goes that late. There is almost 0 risk drafting him and that goes a long way when it comes to the draft.
  16. I'd be pretty happy with that draft. Although with the #3 I think Ponder is a no brainer over Kapernick. Plus I personally think the mum stance on Ponder is tell tale that they may really like Ponder a lot, that may be over thinking it but Gailey spent a lot of time with Ponder during Senior Bowl week. Although I would probably take Colin McCarthy, Bruce Carter, or Ras-I Dawling instead of Kapernick or Ponder. And take my boy Moffit in the 4th although I expect a choir for Casey Mathews. I don't know anything about Derek Newton, but I couldn't wait for all "We got Newton threads" Either way you need some O-Line in the mix in the draft class, better late than never.
  17. Are you saying that you think if Newton and Tebow were in the same draft, you think Tebow would be ranked higher? Interesting opinion but I don't think it would be consensus. I would think that the guy that can actually throw the ball would be ranked higher than the guy that most thought would have to play H-Back to make it in the NFL. No one is talking about Newton playing H-Back today (or really ever).
  18. This is draft is crazy. There about 8 options at #3 and a dozen options at #34. Stephan Paea is a beast, if he is healthy and available at #34 it would be a steal. Can't wait for the second day of the draft.
  19. My Point is Jake Locker's 2009 and 2010 were similar the biggest difference is Jake Locker added 2 more wins in 2010, using that logic, if Andrew Luck has a similar 2011 to his 2010 season and adds 2 more wins he'll be in good shape.
  20. Yeah I tend to agree, I'd say it's more like 10 in a million the Bills take Gabbert, but I thought the OP presented a pretty fun scenario. That is a major "What If."
  21. Thats an interesting idea. It would be hard though when Baltimore is fighting for the division but has to sit Flacco and Ray Rice because they both have 16 games. I think a far simpler plan is just add 1 more game. 3 pre-season games, and 17 regular season games. I like this for the fact that there will no more .500 seasons (unless there is a tie) You're either 8-9 or 9-8. Only winning seasons and losing seasons.
  22. There was nothing contemptuous about my post. If mods want to ride people for the tone of their posts, there are better places to start then that post.
  23. So Kapernick will win 5 UFL championships?
