  1. On 3rd down all Flacco had to do was dive his 6'6" frame a yard for a first down. Get up and call a timeout. Flacco is clearly not a Franchise QB, he showed no situational awareness, Not to mention WTF kind of stupid play did they call on 3rd and 1 in order to go to the Super Bowl. They had 4 WRs 20 yards down the field. Cam Cameron screwed the pooch on top of Flacco being an idiot. They had great protection on the play, they just needed a couple receivers anywhere near the first down marker. That whole series was a debacle. 1st down. - Boldin fumbles out of bounds - If he hangs on to the ball its a first down. 2nd down - Fricking Lee Evans goes lackadaisical and doesn't protect the ball. I contest it was not a good play by the 10th string defender. It was a simple "ball check" that happens on every play. Lee just didn't secure the ball. It's not like the player punched out between his arm pit and arms. He just got his hand on top of the ball. A veteran WR like Lee Evans should have secure a relatively easy catch like that. 3rd down - Fricking Cam Cameron can't call a play to get a yard at least Play Action!!! You have a frisking timeout. And Flacco can't recognize that no one is open and no one is in front of him just dive for the yard after you step up. 4th down - Seriously ! That was a huge shank. That doesn't even count as a miss. It's like Tee-ing off and hitting a Water hazard on the NEXT HOLE it wasn't even anywhere near the uprights. I blame Flacco and Cam Cameron more than anyone else, but Lee Evans gets a nice 20% chunk of blame too. It's good of him to step up and own it.
  2. Don't get me wrong. Having a starting line of Kelsay at LDE (Kelsay is actually good with his hand on the ground) Kyle Williams Marcell Dareus and Mario Williams, With Heard and Edwards in for rotation is a freaking world class Defensive line and I would have a wet mark in my pants. However Will that actually happen, I've been a Bills fan since birth and I was born in the 70s, so I'm not gonna hold my breath that the Bills will do what they clearly should do to everyone else besides the Bills.
  3. Yeah Mario Williams may be "scheme diverse" but you can bet dimes to doughnuts that he doesn't want to be in a hybrid scheme. He wants to play 4-3 DE and thats it. So the odds of him going to a hybrid team are pretty low. Its a nice dream though.
  4. When it comes to "coach-ability" There is no question that Sanchez is not as coachable. They tried to coach him how to baseball slide when he scrambles and you still see him go head first and take hits he could have avoided. Plus the defense in NJ Jets is getting old, with all those old Ravens on the way out and the money invested in the secondary it will be hard to replace. Plus if Rex has a 2012 like his 2011, it would be a shocker if he was NOT canned. Where it looks like if the Bills get to 7-9, 8-8, or 9-7 in 2012 there is no shot of Chan getting canned so Buffalo looks a little more stable. If you were making sine waves the Bills would be close to the bottom on the way up, where the Jets would have already crested and most likely on the way down.
  5. 1st down - bad spot 2nd down - Fricking Lee Evans 3rd down - Fricking Flacco - just take 1 step for the first down 4th down - unbelievable FG miss
  6. The Giants are going to have a tough time winning in San Fran and the Ravens are going to expose the Patsies. Anyone else thinks the Harbaugh Bros meet up again on Super Bowl Sunday?
  7. I hope David Lee and Fitzy are joined at the hip this off season. He went to the Jets, and was like "Thanks Tone you can have this circus. I'm good back in b-lo."
  8. Why don't you do some digging on spending in the NFL. When you realize that 32/32 NFL teams are under the cap. MANY by a greater margin than the Bills you'll understand that if true, carrying over "cap room" wouldn't be a competetitve advantage.
  9. I think Upshaw is the safest pick in the draft. Floor like Daryl Talley ceiling like Terrell Suggs. May not become a sack master but should be a great NFL LB.
  10. No this will worry GMs. the question is "You couldn't stop smoking weed for 100 days?" Seriously? You know you're about to take Drug tests on a regular basis pre-draft. Didn't your agent talk to you about this?" The guy either is a major stoner or just completely stupid either way this looks really bad. It's completely variable it's going to come down to interviews and Private Investigator information. If teams turn up that the guy is a pot head and everyone knew it but 'Bama was protecting him because of his talent he will fall real fall. Like second round far. If it turns out he just thought he can burn one for old time sake before he got serious about the NFL and wasn't really associated with pot heads and this was a one off incident, then he won't drop much at all. My guess is he goes bottom half of the 1st round now. See Leodis McKelvin.
  11. Where did admarc get this from. This is some good stuff. A LB playing behind the LoS on a regular basis is exactly what the Bills need. I like Upshaw even more.
  12. Thats what I would like to here too. Even though its obvious that the Bills have no 3-4 OLBs and no 4-3 DEs. Which is kinda the biggest decision point for your "base D" The Bills can easily switch to whatever scheme you want. It's not like the Bills defense has any established players at LB or 4-3 DE that are key pieces either scheme. You can turn over the whole LB squad with the exception of Barnett and you'd be hard pressed to do worse than the crew that currently pretends to play LB for the Bills today.
  13. Do you think he is going to be a 3-4 DE or a 3-4 OLB or a 4-3 DE? There has only been 1 Bruuuuuuuce in the history of the NFL and there will probably never be another. To put it into context Bruce Smith was like the Wayne Gretzky or Jerry Rice of 3-4 DEs no one will ever touch or come close to his sack numbers from the 3-4 DE position not to mention what he did to stop the run. No D-Co would scheme to allow a 3-4 DE the opportunity to break Smith's sack record even if they somehow found another freak of nature, determined, athlete like Bruce. So there will never be another Bruuuuuce but there will be guys that can get sacks as 3-4 OLB or 4-3 DE. I just don't know what Mercilus projects better at. . . . If you're saying Mercilus is a 3-4 DE then, yeah I'd pass for Upshaw.
  14. Maybe, but right now in 2012 for the Buffalo Bills, do they need a mix of Cornellius Bennett and Daryl Talley All around great LBs or do they Need Tamba Hali\Terrell Suggs - sack master (although Suggs shouldn't be stuck in the sack specialist box like Hali). Also who has the lowest "floor". Mercilus has some major bust potential . Upshaw is going to be a good LB almost no matter what. His floor is a good LB and then his Ceiling is almost as high as Mercilus. If I'm Buddy Nix, I need more of sure thing at OLB. I'd rather see Upshaw as the pick. I'm just worried that the fans are going to call him a bust if he doesn't get 20 sacks, but instead sets the edge stops the run and gets like 6.5 sacks.
  15. What you described is what you want Upshaw to be, BUT you didn't describe the actual player. If Upshaw were what you described than yes it is a no brainer. To put it in terms most Bills fans should understand, he probably isn't going to be a 9 sack a year guy, like Cornelius Bennett. He is likely a great all around backer like Daryl Talley or some where in between. Which is still a great player. Just don't expect a Terrel Suggs. TAMBA HALI type of player.
  16. SeriouslY here is the link: http://m.nflplayers.com/articles/Press-Releases/AstroTurf-NFLPA-Collegiate-Bowl-Announced/ I heard about it or at least the "vision" of it. So in 2012 it makes more sense to incluse junior and seniors tHat declared in the dRaft.
  17. NFL PA is coordinating an all star game for draft decalred players. Basically a "Junior Bowl" And might overtake the "Senior Bowl" overtime.
  18. Jets are 3rd on my hate list in the AFC East and I loath the fat mouthed Jets.
  19. When have the Bills ever made a splash in free agency.? The right mindset is the Bills will sign no one of any significance, then be surprised if they actually sign anyone of significance, which is not likely.
  20. That is some crazy shiz. Seriously Wow.
  21. Really did the remainder of the NFL send him to a pro bowl or an all-nfl team? It does seems the remainder of the NFL thinks . . . "Who is Donte Whitner?"
  22. Donte lead with the Crown of his helmet. It used to be called "spearing" and it was never legal. It doesn't matter if the player is defenseless or not you can not drive the crown of your helmet into another player. Tackling 101: 1.) Head up - See your target 3.) Wrap Up - Contain the player 2.) Drive through the player to the ground Donte was head down using his helmet as a weapon, just wait until the fines hit later this week.
  23. Yeah I'd be surprised if Donte's check wasn't a bit lighter on Wednesday. But that being said, that play did change the game.
  24. +1 I got nothing against Donte personally. But when the saints took the lead, I was thinking "poor Donte he is the scapegoat both of those TDs were his fault. They're gonna run him out of town. " Then Alex Smith to Vernon DAVIS saved his life.
  25. OOh those poor Pats fans. . .
