  1. I understand that San Diego payed for potential and the 1st round pedigree. However the examples of an under performing WR drafted in the 1st 3 rounds hitting free agency and then blossoming into a player that has some great stats and contributes are pretty few. I can't think of any of the top of my head. Can we think of some examples? I don't think Meachum was the best Free Agent WR in a class with Vincent Jackson, but he wasn't the worst. Either way San Diego sure did drop a lot of money on Meachum and who knows what money was out there for Anderson. I'll tell you what wasn't out there for Anderson. Another team that has a line where 3/4 starters have to be double teamed on every play. Not to mention people keep forgetting that Anderson played a season with Mario Williams before. Its not even mentioned by most reports. They obviously know each other. Anderson already know what its like to line up with Mario Williams drawing double teams. Now throw in Marcel and Kyle . . .Not to mention Mario Williams mentioned how his D-Line coach was in Live Kyle WIlliams and talked about him in practice at Houston. Well Anderson was there as well. . . Lets not revert to our 2005 logic. It is possible that Anderson, low and behold, wanted to play in Buffalo. Shocker!!!
  2. +1 (There is not a cap issue or a shortage of cash for the Bills. What is the problem if the guy gets 6 or 8 mill. It's a front loaded contract there isn't a conflict or shortage or money. Its laughable that you think you know what contracts are being offered. Who would think Meachum a career 600 yard receiver that would dissapear for 12 games a year would get the piles of money that San Diego threw at him.
  3. John is right on but what is even better, is that Stevie and Anderson's contract actually do not go up over time. They're actually front loaded contracts. Meaning when the Cap goes up, they'll have tons of room. SJ, and Anderson's cap hit in 2015 is tiny. I didn't see the exact details on Mario's contract though. Chandler's was small as well. So the good news. Is the Bills signed their own key free agents and brought top tier pass rushing talent and didn't paint themselves in a cap corner the future. In 2012 they come into an offense where 8/11 starters are returning, the offense system has a chance to build on what they started. (Basically RT and LT and the second flanker are the ?s around starters and the RT may actually returning as well depending on what happens in pre season.) The defensive pass rusher, which was one of the worst in the league. People talk about the only 29 sacks in 2011, but 10 of the sacks came agains the DEADskins, so the sack and pressure was horrible through 15 games. The team on paper has addresses the Pass Rush. We all know the result of a better D-Line has on the LBs and secondary. They have more freedom to cover and play the run. So you can nit pic and throw stones at Buddy but he has done a phenomenal job in the 2012 offseason. If we have a Floyd or Mike Adams 1st round pick and a Bobby Wagner / Vinny Curry / Sanu / Jeffrey / Sanders 2nd round it gets even better. Then Give a much deserved extension to Levitre an extension for Wood and a deserved but from a business perspective unnecessary extension to FJax (they could just use him in 2012 then dump him, thats what the Patriots would do but I bet Buddy throws FJax a bone with a nice signing bonus on a **wink**wink** multi year extension) then it gets even more bitterer. People, All is good in Buffalo Bills land, lets enjoy the first great offseason in a freaking generation.
  4. Weeden is actually a better fit for Miami, so I hope that doesn't happen though. Yes he is old but he is much more Week 1 ready than Tannehill. If Tannehill is thrown to the WMD line this early in his career he may develop PTSD. Weeden is really a little less rough around the edges. When will April get here.
  5. Can a Mod please change the title of this Thread to "Tannehill discussion" The idea of the Bills trading up to draft Tannehill is ridiculous nonsense based out of Miami. We shouldn't have to be insulting by the name of this thread whenever we log into this site. Please Please Please. an alternative name could be "Buffalo Barbarian's Tannehill FanClub"
  6. Yeah totally different philosophy. it seems like the past philosophy was almost apologetic about Buffalo. "We'll draft from small schools because they'll be used to small Buffalo and not being in the spotlight." Where as Buddy seems to have moved to a Go Big or Go Home philosophy. Drafting SEC, SEC and Big12 then two ACCs in 2011 and then signing the biggest defensively free agent. So the 2012 draft will be interesting to see it the small school stand outs show up again. Or if the Bills organization is done with being apologetic about Buffalo.
  7. ANY team can sign him as an UDFA and see if he can do anythingin camp.
  8. Notice the years that were picked. Its a whole new NFL. ROOKIES WRs can contribute year 1 on these pass happy spread offenses.
  9. Its 2012 if you don't understand the Mock draft community, you never will. Just think of it as cross dressing, you just don't get it. Or if you are a cross dresser think of it as not cross dressing. Draftek doesn't have this problem.
  10. I'm jeoulous. I saw that tweet and thought about taking a mini vacation to Tampa. They Always talk about the swirling winds at The Ralph. I always thought it had something to do with the shape of the stadium and how the wind blew off the lake to the southtowns. Now it seems like it has something to do with the tunnells. Nice I say upgrade the stadium but keep the swirling winds.
  11. I don't agree that is possible. Lets say it is. He ran real fast and jumped real high and far in his underwear. Plus he ran a few routes in 90 total minutes of scripted practice without a real Defense.
  12. Demarius Thomas will likely "break out" in 2012. YEAR one injury year two Tebow year three Manning. Does that count too? The Bills offense is primmed for another outside threat.
  13. I agree but the ND campus is different from Ohio St. or Alabama. You don't get a pass just because you're on a football scholarship. There are only 12,000 students. Maybe a security guard had it out for him..its a small.campus mostly everyone knows mostly who/what everyone is doing. Just ask this guy.
  14. EASLEY is just as much a ghost as Floyd. They have both played the same amount of NFL regular season games. The Bills have two threats between the hash marks that defenses have to respect today. CHANDLER and Nelson. Floyd would give the Bills a possible second outside threat plus FJax and Slipper coming out of the backfield, it makes for some seriously sick skilled players on oftener. You got a strong core at interior offends line, G to G. The only weak spots are LT and people can debate Fitz all they want.
  15. First the Bills have to draft him. Then he has to demonstrate he can play well in OTAs and Pre Season then he has to play well in the NFL then you can debate who is #1 and who is #2. If Miami takes Floyd before the Bills do, then you will all be hoping he gets too crazy in the Miami night life and is a bust. So lets wait until May. Not to mention "#1" and "#2" is more fan speak then NFL speak.
  16. How do you troll in real life? And how is the Sabres scoring 4 goals and FES line going off the rockers, trolling? None the less "Tebow L0L"
  17. He had 28 catches in a run 1st 2nd and 3rd offense. His job was to run sprints up and down the sidelines. that does not translate well to being a complete WR in the NFL A college kid gets in trouble for drinking, its probably the first time that ever happened. There is no possibility that Stephen Hill is drafted before Floyd, but you can live in your typically clueless 1billsfan world without worry of reality.
  18. Exactly right, Stephen Hill has not Proven anything on the college football field let alone the NFL. FANDOM is in love with him because he won the unitard Olympics. I don't feel like pissing on every Stephen Hill man-love post and next year there will be some other non productive player that has a great combine and everyone will fall in love. I hope the best for the kid and if he is there in the 5th it might be worth a shot but lets get some perspective. He ran real fast and jumped real high and far in his underwear and hasn't done much more than that.
  19. So when he was 18 years old he was having better seasons than Most college WRs, that's your knock on him? Keep digging.
  20. Aiken has tiny hands. Seriously. Maybe he doesn't catch well in practice. Since catching is kinda the most important thing a WR does it doesn't help having tiny hands. Not saying he can't catch just saying it might effect his performance in practice therefore he doesn't get any PT. Edit: it's Marcus Easely that has freakishly small hands. I can't find Aiken's hand size. http://www.footballsfuture.com/2010/combine/wr.html Side bar: I'd love to be in the draft room for that 4th round pick. "Hey we need a tight end, somehow Aaron Hernandez is still there." "He smoke some Mary Jane, No way! Let's draft this Kid with freakishly small hands that started one year at that football powerhouse UCONN, Marcus Easely." "who?"
  21. I did. I'm pretty sure I advocated to use a 3rd or 2nd on Floyd if he were to enter a suplemental draft on him. (If they thought his drinking would be in check) I really don't understand the concern. (Also don't understand the ND loathing) I'm not a ND fan myself but I don't hate all players from ND. Floyd is a freak. Runs slant routes like a pro and has wheels to stretch a defense. What team runs a lot of quick slant routes and needs a depth threat?
  22. This is a good question. Paging Astro . . .! What LT prospects are out there past round one?
  23. Reiff had a poor pro day and is projected at RT or Guard. Reiff, by pretty much everyone, is not considered a LT prospect. It would make zero sense to draft Reiff at #10. It will be Martin or Floyd if it breaks that way. I would prefer Floyd.
  24. Now that extra 4th can be Kirk Cousins or Brock osweiler without worrying about building depth at DE. If Kirk Cousins beats the odds and develops well. Lee Evand for Kirk Cousins well . . . Let's not get too far ahead of ourselves.
  25. They drafted one 2nd and one 3rd round RBs last year and both looked good in limited play. Shane Vareen Cal and Stevan Ridey LsU. The pats are deep at RB. I don't think they regret trading out of Ingram for a second. THE LAWFIRM of Benjarvis Green Ellis and Woodhead is no longer needed. Y'all need to know your enemy better. Some of you should be embarrassed.
