Interactive Mock Draft - Bills are On the Clock
1B4IDie replied to DFlo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm glad to remind you of the #69 overall pick in the 2011 draft Want I don't get is do people want Kulchey to be the pick or do they honestly believe the FO will make that pick. I just can't see Buddy picking Kulchey over Martin. Kulchey over Floyd even Kulchey over Adams. I can see even DeCastro higher on their board than Kulchey and I don't they take an interior lineman that high. So is it the Bills fans want this pick because he is the first lB on the list or that they think the FO will make that pick? -
Interactive Mock Draft - Bills are On the Clock
1B4IDie replied to DFlo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I can't believe Kuechly has that high of the vote. I would reckon that he is about 24 on One Bills Drive Big Board. No way Buddy Nix is going to take a back up MLB with #10 overall pick. Shep is the starter. It makes zero sense. I thought Bills fans were smarter than that. -
Nice work. Looks like there is a debate. http://www.drafttek.com/2012-NFL-Draft-Prospect-Rankings/Top-Right-Offensive-Tackles.asp http://www.drafttek.com/2012-NFL-Draft-Prospect-Rankings/Top-Left-Offensive-Tackles.asp I personally haven't been impressed with Reiff.

I stand corrected only 1 incident was on campus, still just 1 arrest. Yes the point is exactly what you made and I underlined. They incidents are definitely not little deals. They definitely need to be weighted properly. It is important to know one what they are. Here is a factual summary of the 3 incidents: Incident #1 - 5/15/2009 Sited for underage drinking. According to a Hennepin County District Court, Minnesota spokeswoman Michael Floyd plead guilty through a hearing officer on June 15 2009. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=6242523'>http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=6242523 Incident #2 01/08/10 - Notre Dame sophomore WR Michael Floyd, a leading prospect for the 2011 draft, was cited for underage consumption of alcohol after an altercation at a house party in Minneapolis. Floyd wasn‘t arrested, but was cited for underage consumption of liquor, a misdemeanor. http://www.nfldraftbible.com/Players/List/2012-Big-Board/Michael-Floyd.html Incident #3 3/20/11 3:18 a.m - Floyd was driving a white Cadillac when he ran a stop sign about a block from the school's main entrance. Floyd failed three sobriety tests that consisted of a standing on one leg, walking and turning around, and a finger count, Daniels said. The breathalyzer test showed he had a blood-alcohol level of 0.19, well above Indiana's legal limit for driving of 0.08 percent. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=6242523 Incident #1 & #2 I can personally attest to, can happen very commonly to almost anyone social. Incident #3 is extremely serious and show an escalated pattern of poor decision making. Now it is possible for people to learn from their mistakes. Buddy and the GMs of the NFL have to make the decision if Floyd is worth the risk. I think we a stable Buffalo Bills locker room and stable Buffalo Bills leaders(for a change) Floyd could be a great fit.

Michael Floyd was Arrested 1 Time and plead guilty to a misdemeanor DUI. The reason he only got a year of probation and a misdemeanor was because he had no priors. He has cited twice by campus security for underage drinking, with ZERO arrests and ZERO conventions following these on campus incidents. Notice this is an actual media outlet with reporters: http://aol.sportingnews.com/ncaa-football/story/2011-03-21/notre-dame-wr-michael-floyd-arrested-on-dui-charges Also notice there are no mentions of prior arrests. If you can show me From an actual media outlet that Floyd has prior arrests and convictions I will stand corrected but i have not seen any mention of prior arrests or convictions. Besides the two on campus siting for underage drinking. I'm not trying to get personal but you really need to do some basic fact checking before you post.

You know that Oher plays RT for the Ravens, right? Edit: I'm surprised you don't know that but just can case you doubt me: Ravens Depth chart: http://www.nfl.com/teams/baltimoreravens/depthchart?team=BAL http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/5182/michael-oher Reiff is a RT all the way. There is little debate about this. You know these are both Fan written articles, correct?

You want to order (if you can get past the PETA aspect) the veal ribs. So good! -

No one is worth the 32nd pick in 2013! Trade all the 2013 picks for the #10 overall.

Michael Crabtree completely dominated college football at Texas Tech. He would completely take games over. Because Michael Crabtree doesn't have elite size he has been an average (if that) NFL WR. Blackmon is smaller than Crabtree. There is a real difference in size that has a real impact on outcome at positions like WR if all things are equal outside of that. Both Blackmon and Floyd have productive college resumes where the offense ran through them, both run excellent routes, but are fast enough to be deep threats but have great hands both love football both work hard. Floyd is a big stronger Justin Blackmon. I am one of the few people to rank Floyd above Crabtree (if the alcohol stuff wasn't there, It wouldn't be few it would be many) Either way Blackmon should be a good WR in the NFL, and if the wind is blowing hard in that direction from your recruiting team than you take Blackmon. Floyd or Blackmon would be perfect addition to the Buffalo Bills, and would likely translate directly to a few more 3rd down conversions, that lead to a few more FGs or may translate into a few more TDs instead of FGs, which may translate into more Ws.

No one, because they'll be playing in the Super Bowl the following week!

Birch Bigsley New Video: DRAFT PREVIEW
1B4IDie replied to Birch Bigsley's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You guys are rough on the lad, How about some constructive feed back? You need to do some homework and focus on some "whys"? Why are the needs you outlined the needs? Why do you think Reif, a RT, would be a good fit to fill a need at LT? Why do you think the Bills should draft an ILB and #10 overall to be a backup to Shep? Couldn't you get a backup ILB after the 4th? Why is Michael Floyd a good fit on this team? Will his college alcohol issues cause him problems being a pro? From a format perspective you spent too much time on the "Needs" for this to be a draft discussion video. Its more a video that lists the title of positions in the NFL than a draft discussion. -
Has Florio admitted the April Fool's joke yet?
-
You guys want to talk about :worthy: Thurman, Bruce and Jim Kelly too?
-
OK the Video is back up. It just was added to the ASU pro day Brock Osweiler, Vontaze Burfict, and Michael Floyd. The Michael Floyd piece starts at about the 2:32 mark: http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-draft/09000d5d827f6454/On-the-draft-board A little fluff piece on Floyd: http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-first-draft/09000d5d827f0094/First-Draft-Michael-Floyd Some quotes: "I'm physical guy, I like to start physical . . ." "I really like Larry Fitzgerald . . .act like you've been there before." "I'm a hard worker. I believe hard work beats talent. . ." "I'm a jokester when needed . . ." Oh now Stevie and Michael both cracking jokes, he might fit right in to the "Goon Squad." Says all the right things, but what else is he going to say . . . "I'm weak, don't work hard, want to be a Diva like T.O. and everyone hates me, I'm a dickhead."
-
The way that Georgia Tech offense worked. I bet if you look at passes past 3 yards, its probably 99; all season. Stephen Hill has no experience dealing with real secondary and real coverage systems. He is more than raw.
-
Stephen Hill simply ran real fast and jumped real far and high in his underwear and at his pro day ran scripted routes for a few minutes against air. He has no tape. He played in a run first, run second, and run third offense. His job was to run by defenders when they put 10 in the box. His high is 28 catches in a season. Stephen Hill had a great combine but is a completely raw WR project that would take years to possibly develop into anything decent in the NFL. Before the combine he was a 7th round / UDFA prospect. I don't believe actual NFL GMs have moved him that high up on their board. Since the Raiders don't pick until the 5th I doubt Stephen Hill goes in the first 50 picks. Stephen Hill is exactly the kind of prospects the Bills need to stay away from with their first 3 picks. A project that won't contribute until 2015, if that.
-
Mike Mayock said when it comes to the tape Michael Floyd is just as good as Blackmon. He went in to say "If it wasn't for. . . He has struggled with alcohol . . . Listen when you look at the tape . . ." to paraphrase he said he is a big, strong, can win jump balls, runs great routes and "is probably the best blocking WR in the draft." He went on to say it is going to be up to a GM to determine how comfortable they are with his off the field stuff. He never went on to finish the thought about "If it wasn't for. . . " he kind of stumbled around his words on that. He said he expects Floyd to be a "top 12" pick so if you take the early "IF it wasn't for. . ." to the bext logical step, talent wise you're getting an elite, skilled WR at #10 that dropped because of off the field stuff a la Randy Moss and Dez Bryant. What's strange is the video was taken down from NFL.com. Now that the beloved Mike Mayock has echoed my sentiments on Floyd anyone feel better about the Floyd pick? Edit: The video is back up and was added to the ASU pro day video. It turns out Mayock didn't stumble over his words as much as a I remembered. The Floyd discussion starts at 2:32: http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-draft/09000d5d827f6454/On-the-draft-board (Mayock also agrees with me that Vontaze Burficit is not draftable.)

Kuechly is likely #30 on a list of the Bills likely draft picks @#10. I really don't understand why anyone is discussing him as a prospect. The Bills will not drafting an Inside Line Backer at #10 overall.

Sabres put an a$$-whuppin' on the Caps
1B4IDie replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It goes both ways. The Caps fans slurred it up in my section. Starting throwing food at a couple young South Buffalo Boys. The Caps fans then walked down, invited the young men out in the hallway for some fisticuffs. I don't think the Caps fans were prepared for the battle tested young South Buffalo Boys, because the Caps guys were the aggressor, threw the first punch, and lets just say they got finished in the end. The difference is, if a visiting fan threatened to rape a Buffalo fan's wife or daughter, the visiting fan would likely not walk out of the arena on their own weight. That being said, those Buffalo Boys were out of bounds with their comments. None the less the Capitals fans were not exactly gracious hosts last night especially when it was clear their sports team wasn't nearly as passionate about winning as the fans were. -

431 was all up in the Caps crease. The Highlight was having 4 rows of Sabres fans sing "NaNa-Na-Na-Hey-Hey-hey-Goodbye" during the mass exodus of Crapital fans mid 3rd period. Correct Floyd would come in and compete to take ownership of the Donald Jones/Brad Smith/CJ Spiller/Roosevelt/Ruvell Martin / Joey The Ball Boy / Jimmy the Security Guard / Bobby The Groundskeeper role. You'd need to compare his perspective stats to Donald Jones/Brad Smith/CJ Spiller/Roosevelt/Ruvell Martin / Joey The Ball Boy / Jimmy the Security Guard / Bobby The Groundskeeper stats from last year. Nelson will be on the field with Floyd and SJ13. Exactly Don't feed the trolls. Exactly Exactly. Floyd is tailor fit for this team. He his coming off of back to back 1,000 yard seasons. His best year came when he was the focal point of the passing offense. He had better combine numbers than AJ Green, so You know he is an athlete that should be able to beat coverage with speed and leaping ability. SJ13 is a leader in the locker room, aside from the celebrations, he seems to be taking his leadership role in practice and in the meeting rooms seriously. He would be a great mentor for Floyd. If it weren't for the alcohol related incidents he would be a consensus Top 5 pick. WRs with his on field resume, size and athleticism don't come around as often as the OP would lead you to believe. The 3 year rule on WRs since becoming a cliche has almost become passé. Look at the league since 2009. You have DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin, Percy Harvin, Hakeen Nicks, Kenny Britt, Mike Wallace, Demarius Thomas, Dez Bryant, Mike Williams, AJ Green, Julio Jones, Torey Smith, Greg Little. Passing offenses in college use a spread often, NFL offenses are now spreading the field with receivers from a shotgun as well. College WRs have a much easier evolution to the new pass happy NFL. It doesn't take as long to develop a WR's blocking skills because you're slinging the ball all over the place. Not to mention Floyd actually has a resume of blocking effectively down the field. If Nix and Gailey think that Floyd is mature enough to deal with alcohol when having even less structure around his life as a professional, in a drinking town like Buffalo and that the incidents are not a view into a serious alcohol related issues than picking Floyd a no brainer. Getting 40 Receptions 570 yards and 3.5 TDs added on to an offense build around FJ & CJ out of the backfield, SJ outside and Nelson and Chandler between the hashes, is actually huge, with the potential to become a Dez Bryant - Hakeem Nicks - with a ceiling of even an AJ80 potential. Its the difference in converting 3rd downs and getting TDs that wouldn't be there with Donald Jones et al. It leads to more Ws in 2012.

I hope you're not betting much. Why would the Bills take a RT @10. It makes no sense.

All leading to the same outcome: The Bills are dooooooooooooooomed! -
Smoke Screen! He knows the drop off after Floyd is great and doesn't want teams to think he wants Floyd where as the depth at LT is greater. They don't call him Buddy Smoke Screen Nix for nothing.
