  1. Yes, we were. Were you at your seats when Trent Edwards career ended?
  2. So I was at that game in Arizona. We had some sick seats. 12 rows away from the field on the 45 yard line. I heard and felt that hit. It was horrible. Like watching a pedestrian get crushed by moving automobile. The worst part is after they carted him off. The Cart actually pulled around to the sideline near the 50 on our side of the field. The trainer got out of the cart and spoke to a coach or someone and left Trent sitting up on the cart, with a second trainer. He was so wobbly and you could tell that no one was home at the time. He was there for probably 5 mins before they continued his cart trip to the tunnel. The Bills fans in the section were all worried about him after that. Even the Arizona fans seemed worried when they looked at him. Trent Edwards truly never recovered from that hit.
  3. Don't get me started on the 2011 draft! I would have taken: Jabaal Sheard Akeem Ayers Bruce Carter Jarvis Jenkins Brooks Reed Kyle Rudolph over Aaron Williams I would have taken: Justin Houston Martez Wilson Ryan Mallett Mason Foster over Kelvin Shepp and I would have taken: Colin McCarthy Sam Acho Over Searcy. Great we got 2 secondary members with all that Front7 talent! Yay! I men the Bills drafted solid players, but it was kind of hard to screw up the 2011 draft, In 25 years from now I believe it will go down as the most talented draft in NFL history. Starting with Cam Newton, Marcell Dareus, Von Miller, Jake Locker, Aldon Smith, JJ Watt, Ryan Kerrigan, down to solid contributors like Sam Acho. It really is going to be a special class imo.
  4. Thanks for the newsflash, can you give me text alerts of breaking sports news? The point being the Eagles could care less what happens when they trade a development prospect. i.e. Rob Johnson from Fred Taylor (you think the Jags cared that they set the Bills franchise back 5+ years), Kevin Kolb for Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, Vinny Curry (a TBD favorite) and Brandon Boykins (you think the Eagles care that Kolb is skeerred of the pass rush and always injured?) It is still very early but if the Eagles can do that again with Foles or if Foles actually can play well after Vick, I think the Eagles will be very happy.
  5. What do you mean? It worked out great for the Eagles.
  6. Patriots Pass defense is notoriously crap. However I liked Foles come out of college. He looked like a champ, his arm was a rocket and was surprisingly accurate getting the ball into some small windows. The Eagles might be developing another Kevin Kolb.
  7. Before watching the PreSeason games I was thinking that we had a 10% chance of winning the division. After watching the first offense and the run defense in the first two pre season games I have inverted those number (01% seems more likely now)
  8. The sad thing is we traded up to get Poz when we could have had David Harris, who I personally would have drafted or Lamarr Woodley (which probably wouldn't have worked in B-Lo.)
  9. The Jets fans were unrelenting in their criticism of Hunter. One mentioned that One Legged Otah would atleast get in the Defensemen's way. Basically the Jets only have garbage at RT, Zebrie Sanders won't make it through Waivers to get on the practice squad and I don't know if Sam Young is PS eligible anymore. Either one of those guys could go from getting cut in a numbers game in Buffalo to Starting for the Jets at RT in a couple weeks.
  10. The Bills are trying to be fair to Merriman and do him a favor by cutting him now and letting him pickup with a team. I really wish they tried to trade him to an NFL West team, and ask for a team dinner when we're in San Francisco as the compensation, just so he isn't in the AFC East. You know how this story goes. Merriman has a monster year on whatever 3-4 team picks him and the Bills look stoopid. Hey Maybe the Ravens will pick him up now that Suggs is gone and that is his home team anyway. . .
  11. Who is this 2nd round pick you keep talking about?
  12. I love Fitzy and I really liked Kirk Cousins leading into the draft. HE is a good size for a QB, 33 on the wonderlic, 40 plus starts in college, 65% completition percentage, won some big games. Concerns were he had a noodle arm, and threw too many screens, Some "experts" opined concern that he was a "system QB" even if that system was pro style. Also worried that he wasn't athletic enough to escape a pass rush. I know its preseason but he looked great again. TJ Graham looks good too. Redskins need some WR help, Bills need a development QB. What would you do if the Bills and skins swapped prospects?
  13. The best thing Lee Evans has done in his career for the Buffalo Bills is land us Ron Brooks. That kid is a stud!
  14. TJax is not an NFL quality QB. He has proven this time and time again. End of story.
  15. I would never trade Stevie Johnson, Fred Jackson, and Fitz for Luck, especially in a redraft league. I actually just traded Andrew Luck, Justin Blackmon and Dustin Keller for Calvin Johnson and Jermaine Gresham in a Dynasty League. I'm happy with Megatron for the long run.
  16. You are incorrect Chan did take a stand. [/thread]
  17. I'm not freaking out. People are freaking out when I say that There are very few higher priorities for Buddy Nix than extending Levitre Why my comment solicited the reactions it solicited is beyond me.
  18. I don't believe I'm implying that. In your scenario they would fall into Group 1. They never became Free Agents and were extended before they became free agents. I think your point is technically their contract expired in Feb and they were signed in early March before Free Agency. I was putting those players into Group1.
  19. What? Here are the two groups in the comparisons I am making. Group 1 = players that signed contract extensions. Group 2 = players that did not sign contract extensions, became Free Agents then signed a contract with the same team they played for immediately prior to the expiration of their previous contract. (Same team) I am saying without question Group 1 is > Group 2. Why is there an argument about this simple fact? And I don't think you understand what a Strawman argument is, but whatevs. Awesome fan base: "Sign the guy! . . . In the future . . . or sometime . . . Or not . . . whatever. Franchise Tag!"
  20. This statement right hear just shows you're being argumentative for argumentative sake. If you're not willing to give any ground and say, It is very likely that Matt Forte prior to 2011 would have signed a deal less than what he signed after 2011 yet more than what the Bears offered him prior to 2011, then you can play Devil's advocate withs someone else. The Argument is this: Andy Levitre has more bargaining leverage the closer he gets to Free Agency. Andy Levitre is a proven quantity and it is better for the future of the Buffalo Bills to have him on the roster for the forceable future. Therefore it is in the best interest of the Buffalo Bills to sign Andy Levitre sooner than later. The Counter Argument is: Chill, Dude. There is tons of times. People get resigned all the time once they're Free Agents, plus you can use the Franchise Tag, what's the big deal? Unless I'm missing something. So I will continue to take the position that Buddy Nix needs to sign Levitre sooner than later. More importantly I believe Buddy Nix knows this and will get this done before October.
  21. Hence the original statement that I can see Roosevelt pning that Wes Welker role for the Pats and that would make me    Are you familiar with his career at UConn? Easley is the poster boy for sleeper pick.
  22. Not a flaw, completely Irrelevant to the result. If you want to shine a spotlight on Manning, lets talk about the fact that Manning negotiated a lower contract than the Colts offered so that they can sign other players. I didn't bring Manning up Captain did, the whole example should be thrown out imo as Manning is a complete outlier. I think it is a very fair conclusion that the Bears payed a boatload more money for Forte after 2011 than would have before 2011. What happens after the contract signed is irrelevant to this conversation. Where is the flaw? I said it was still ongoing so where is the flaw? Rice has proven to be a Top Tier Rushing and Receiving threat and a tool that the Ravens whole offense is built around. What happens after the contract is irrelevant to the fact that Ravens need him on their team and motivated to have a chance. He should be a Top 5 RB based on stats and past performance and he is. i don't think you need time to determine if it worked out for both sides in regards to this conversation. Where is the flaw? Again can we agree that there are more contract extensions than examples of teams resigning a player once they have become a FA? If you disagree with that lets discuss. Not to mention the overall point is Levitre has proven his durability and his importance to the team. Why wouldn't you sign him prior to him becoming a free agent. "Chill. There is time . . ." Isn't a real answer. There are very few higher priorities for Buddy after the final cuts than signing Levitre imo, and I'd like to understand the case against signing Levitre before the season starts.
  23. Yes I may have been extreme in saying bad FOs. I am confident that Levitre will be resigned before October. I agree that Nix is doing what he says he will do and he is straight shooter. I just in principal disagree that its a sound strategy to wait until a player is a FA to franchise or sign him, If you believe in the long term potential of the player you have more than enough practice and game file to determine if the franchise wants to sign the player long term the year before they become a FA. If the player wants to stay with the team and the agent agrees with the numbers the deal should get done. And as dramatic as the FA hold out story on ESPN is, most teams get the extensions done before there is drama around their core players. For good reason the team wasn't completely sold on SJ13 prior to 2011, there was still talk of labor pains, I agree somewhat with the wait and see approach there. Levitre has shown us his baby, so I fully expect Buddy to pay that man before too long. Now is the time to strike a deal. Waiting till the off season likely gives Levitre more leverage. Thats my main point. Sign this guy up, when he will be in the prime of his athletic ability and experience, get 'er done.
  24. Much Better! Thank You!
  25. You're using exceptions (Franchise Tag) as an example to demonstrate that teams frequently let their core players go unsigned until its time to tender the Franchise Tag. That is illogical. I think we can agree the total number of contract extensions outnumber the times that a team was forced into a corner and had to use the franchise tag. The franchise tag is a tool of last resort and comes with great risk. Do you know what the average of the Top 5 Guards make? As much as an average LT. A 1 year contract at the average of the Top5 of your position or a 20% pay increase whichever is greater is not an ideal situation for the player or the franchise. A good FO will extend a core player to a contract prior to a player reaching free agency. If you think Levitre is not a leader on the O-Line, you're welcome to that opinion. However in reality a player that has started in 48/48 possible games and was willing to fill in at Center and LT when he was called upon is going to be regarded as a leader by his fellow teammates. Fact. You can argue this fact if you like, that does not make it less true. Drew Brees - Walked from Chargers Peyton Manning - Walked from Colts Matt Forte - Did not receive a favorable contract from Bears during the year leading up to his Free Agency, The player did not want to sign. The Team ended up forced to use the franchise tag and inturn payed more money than negotating a contract prior to Forte's monster season. Dwayne Bowe - Ugly contract situation and still holding out Ray Rice - Ugly contract situation but worked out, probably beneficial for both. So 1 out 5 examples turned out ok for both player and franchise. 1 out 5 is still ongoing and 3 out 5 the player walked. Or we can call it 1 out 6, 2 out of 6, and 3 out 6 if you count Drew Brees twice. So I'm not sure if you're agreeing with me or not, but thanks for proving my point.
