"If you were Chan" . . . CHan 1 on 1 with the players. yes a 1 on 1 assumes you can hear the player out. This is past the point of bravado and faux confidence. Chan needs to know who is really in it and committed and who is along for the ride. If the players lost confidence in Wanny's scheme that needs to come out to.

We knew the Bills would lose @9ers in April
1B4IDie replied to 1B4IDie's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You're not using my logic. You're apply some kind of record comparison system, I'm not really sure I understand completely what you mean. Either way its not time to decimate the GM and coaching staff yet again. Which seems to be the only thing this franchise is able to consistantly do. If they get blown out by the horrible AZ offense then, well go ahead and freakout. -

Everyone should be concerned. There are levels of concern. My point is the Full Form Freakout, calling for the heads of GMs and coaches may not be the appropriate level of conern in my opinion at this point in time. It will be if the Bills get blown out at Az in my opinion. -
Yes it was a blowout. Yes I am personally sick of Fitzpatrick and think he has proven without a doubt to be a great backup QB but not a starter in the NFL. Yes Dave Wanstedt appears to be playing a new style of defense where you do not cover WRs nor Tackly RBs. Allthat said why is everyone freaking out after this game. The 9ers are a great football team and play solid offense and defense. There was a 10 point spread for the game. We knew this was a loss prior to the game. Let's save the freakouts for next week. We have a chance against a tough Cards team comming off of 10 days prep. But That game shouldn't be a blowout. If that game does turn into a blowout. Sound the horns, but I think we should put a lid on the outrage this week. We never hada chance against the 9ers. This loss or the score should not shock anyone.

Cardinal's tackles will allow us to win..

I watched the second half. Kolb holds the ball too long and has no situational awareness. I saw the Finagan blitz on 4th in pre snap. Just throw it where the bliz came from in that situation. He pump faked and got sacked. Don't get too excited by this game. I bet you Skelton is in with 10 days inbetween games. Not to mention the Cards had 0 RBs in the backfield, so the Lambs knew it would be a pass. -

It was a dive play, You can run a dive play anywhere on the field. I wasn't serious about the screen. Chan Gailey should have looked it up on Wikipedia and took note of the last sentence. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dive_(American_football) -
FWIW: Whitner commentary on Bills coaching
1B4IDie replied to iommi's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It was an open honest interview. The subtext was, Fitz, Stevie and Donald Jones are overachievers and scrapers as compared to the 9ers. and the coaching staff in Buffalo didn't put players in a position to be winners where as the 9ers do. I though the comments about being in control of the game were especially true. I don't know when the last time I thought the Bills were in control of the game. Not even the last Browns game. Maybe the 2 Chiefs game and the Redskins game in the last 20 games were in the only times the Bills were actually in control of the game. The rest of the game they were hanging on with a hope and a prayer. -

That was my brother's point; almost exactly. "Where was Corey Mac? Didn't he flatten Wilfork last year?" We were in that 4-1-6 defense. Ans Scott was the LB. If Scott blows coverage it seems that there are enough DBs that there should be a Safety over the top. My point is Scott is getting all the blame but there has got to be 2 seperate blown coverages on that play for that to happen. How could they screw up that bad with that particular player? Of all the players on the field you should have a Michael Vick like "spy" on Gronk at all times. -

Thank you. If FJAX and Freddy are both healthy. FJAX is always the better option for a goalline dive play. His greatest asset is he always finds away to FALL FORWARD for an extra yard or two. Where as Spiller finds ways to FALL SIDEWAYS or FALL BACKward. It seems to me this is a skill and learned behavior that you need to have discipline to use. If you are going down advance the ball on the way to the ground. There are techniques to doing that. Thurman Thomas had the skill. He even started running backward into piles to essentially squat the tackling players forward and advance the ball. (Sometimes he would do this too often or for no apparent reason in the open field at the end of his career.) My Point being, Spiller needs to learn how FJAX falls forward and advances the ball and realize this is more important to a "Feature" back than break away speed. -
Over my lifetime as a Bills fan, I have plenty experience brushing off loses with the new and interesting ways the Bills find to lose games. Giving up 45 points after having a two TD lead in the 3rd is shooting up the charts in the very competetive top 10 list of worst Bills' losses all time. TWo plays that still Boggle my mind and had a huge impact on the game that I can't get over: 1.) If Spiller has a bum shoulder why are you giving him the ball against a goal line defense? Odds of having 300lb+ plus people attack his shoulder are very high. Why wouldn't you have FJax or Choice run the dive play? If Choice were in they'd be looking for a screen anyway. I just cannot understand how a coaching staff takes that risk when there are other viable options. Shocker, the RB with a shoulder injury Fumbles on a goal line carry. 2.) How in any defense scheme is Gronk allowed to cruise from the line of scrimage to the goaline without anyone near him. Yes coverages get blown, but how does that happen that bad? There should be some kind of saftey valves. If you had 4 people assigned to soley cover Gronk and Welker you can live with Branch and Lloyd beating you. He only broke the record for TDs last year. How that happens I can't understand.

You're banging his sister. You win any trash talking battle hands down.

Take away the takeaways, and Bills win that game.

Incorrect. The Bills were up 21-7 after the first three giveways. And we're already down for the last 3. The ease of rushing by that Patriots when the Bills had the lead and were within a TD is why the Bills lost. Bolden averaged 9.46 yards a carry in the second half. You can overcome the 3 turnovers but you can't overcome getting a first time everytime your oppenent hands the ball off. -
I'll be there.

Let's say the Bills beat the Niners

"Winning division games is a test of a team's manhood" -TMQ I agree completely with this. They can upset the 9ers at home be 3-2 and tied for 1st in the AFC East and they would still be the immature sons of the AFC East. "The Straight line to the playoffs is winning your division games." -Mike Smith They need to take care of business in the division before we get excited about the playoffs. If they make it to 3-3 in the division they may have a shot. A win against the 9ers will be a nice win but I need to see this 7 loss streak against AFC east openents end before I'm happy again with this team. -

Bolden Averaged 9.46 ypc in the 2nd half
1B4IDie replied to 1B4IDie's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I thought I was seeing that. What I was in disbelief was there were no adjustments. It was clear they were checking down to the run and getting an 11 yard rip up the gut. And the Bills were basically just watching it happen over and over again. -
That is why we lost. Plain and simple run defense. Nothing else had as big effect on the game as the ease that the Patriots rushed the ball on the Bills "new and improved" defense. You can overcome turnovers, you can overcome Brady's passing, You CANNOT overcome 13 carries for 123 yards in the second half. It was a complete embarrassment. It doesn't matter that we're in the new pass wacky NFL. You will not make the playoffs if your opponents can run at you and average 6.175 yards a carry as a team. You can cut the entire "new and improved" defense get Free Agents off the street and they couldn't have a worse showing in the run defense. Complete embarrassment.

TJax will stay #3 wtf Bills?
1B4IDie replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
TJAX is as good at QB as Brad Smith. Why would you think he will ever elevate past Pigpen? -
I agree completely. That was the last chance. Its clear that Fitzy is not the man and never will be the man. The dream is over the reality of getting demolished by two division rivals and atleast two more division beat downs to come this season is here. Fitzy cannot do it and there is no evidence at all to the contrary.

Special Treat For Those Coming to the SF Game
1B4IDie replied to Chef Jim's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There is an America's cup boat race that weekend too. They're supposed to have some spectacularly close viewing areas. They're have already been articles in the SF paper saying don't think about driving car that weekend, plan your public transport because its going to be crazy. -
They won't have time to adjust if TChoice is out there for 1st and 10 and then on 3rd and 6 Spiller and FredEx rotate in. I would expect an immediate time out if that happened.

Don't understand that is a problem but thanks for the factoid.
