Positional Needs for DraftTek - November
1B4IDie replied to Astrobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hated seeing Donald Jones on the field in 2010. He was a waste of space In 2011 less painful yet would make some plays when healthy. In 2012 he looks like a capable to good WR. This is the first time in a decade I remember a Buffalo Bill player improving through their career while in Buffalo. Seriously, who else is a player that has improved while in Buffalo? I think this type of thing may happen on other teams more frequently. -
I don't know if I necessarily agree with the bolded statement, but either way we will never know. If you imagine TJ Graham and the ball to connect AT the Goal line. The Ball looks about 7+ feet above the ground at that point. TJ Graham could get his hands on the ball easily but at that height he is open up and vulnerable for a devastating blow. If the ball is thrown at 5' above the goal line. (Where it probably should be located by a capable NFL QB) It would be very difficult for McCourty to get under it 5 yards deep in the endzone when TJ Graham makes takes the wrong route. It would have had to have been a shoelace, spectacular INT. When Welker is running those inside routes Brady doesn't throw the ball 7' in the air. The Ball is less than 5' off the ground. Thats where that pass had to be to the 6'0" TJ Graham as opposed to the 6'5" David Nelson.

That works for me. But my point is the computer should reflect what is happening in the NFL draft, and that QBs go early and often. So if there is a button to say take a QB any QB (Not Matt Barkley from the University of Sucky QBs) than hit that button and leave the rest of the ranking for Round 2 and beyond. If they took a WR1 with the #35 Pick after going QB it would be OK. As you can get great LBs in teh 3rd round. -
Said but true.

An inside receiver running a simple skinny post in front of the secondary has been Fitzy and this offenses signature TD. Instead of the fade route this team has scored on this play several times. Chandler and Nelson have both scored on this amongst others. So Yes I believe that is true.

Positional Needs for DraftTek - November

Astro that last mock had my head exploding. If we passed on Te'O' for that Baylor WR Its possible One Bills Drive would be burned down. That being Said P1 = QB a "reach" on Tier 2 QB like Tyler Wilson would be perfectly acceptable in this draft. Under the new CBA and the rookie salary Pool QBs, even tier 2 prospects like Tannhill, Weeden and Ponder, go in the first round. There is no reason the Bills should not take a QB (if they think the guy can be a winner ) with thier first pick of the first round. You cannot play the waiting game with QBs anymore (If you ever could is debatable) If Tyler Wilson is your guy you take him with #3 overall pick, you don't play it cheap and wait until #35. P2 is anytype of LB and Multiple - Like I said it doesn't matter what the second need is because the Bills have to take a QB in the first round. So I would agree with this:P1=Quarterback P2=Wide Receiver (Multiple M6), OLB43 (Multiple M3), SILB, WILB P3=CB P4=TE, OC, LT, DE43, SS, and Change of Pace RB (RBC), as FJ is getting on in years! P6=FS and Featured RB (RBF), OG P9=All other positions Under the caveot that you go QB with the first pick no matter and especially not a freaking WR with the first round pick. This year. -
So I know this is being discuss in multiple other threads in other topics. I think we need one place to discuss this as it likely will be a hot button topic for the week, (and likely until we play the Pats again next year.) Mods if you collapse this thread please keep the title. I watched the play a few dozen times now. You can watch the play here: http://www.nfl.com/videos/auto/0ap2000000093122/Ryan-Fitzpatrick-end-zone-interception 1.) TJ Graham is clearly supposed to run his route infront of the defenders in the end zone. We have seen David Nelson run this route many times and Scott Chandler run this route a few times. The Safties and Corners are in the end zone and TJ Graham is supposed to cut in front of them and not run in the midst of them. This was a boneheaded rookie mistake. TJ Graham doesn't even seem to be aware he is a viable option as he is starring at the goal post for most of the play. I don't think TJ Graham was anywhere near the top option on that play. This is just one specific example of how much Fitzpatrick misses his David Nelson security blanket. That expected route looks like David Nelson's signature inside route. 2.) McCourty had to jump in the air when he was 5 yards deep in the end zone to catch the interception. If Statement 1 is correct and Fitzpatrick was looking for TJ Graham to break in front of the defenders why was the ball thrown so High? If you watch the flight of the ball, the Ball would have been way over TJ Graham's head if he broke infront of the defenders.TJ Graham would have likely had to jump in order to catch, and Jump real high; exposing himself to a big time hit by those safties and corners. If Fitzpatrick would have thrown the ball where it should have been located on that play, At TJ Graham's Numbers OR LOWER. In this situation with a 6'0" receiver the Ball should have landed safely on the ground two yards deep in the end zone. That ball should have been at TJ's Numbers or LOWER. So not only did TJ Graham run the wrong route but it appears Fitzpatrick had poor ball placement on the play, like usual. This is another example of how the 6'5" David Nelson and 6'7" Scott Chandler that usually run this route might have actually made the play. But the 6'0" TJ Graham even if TJ broke infront of the defenders he might not have made the play given the height of the throw. 3.) CJ Spiller is pretty open in space on that play. If you're going to take your best playmaker out of the backfield and get him in open space what better position to throw him the ball with time on the clock. If you watch the timing of throw to where TJ Graham is on the field it just seems off even if you're expecting TJ Graham to break inside. Its obviously easy to watch the play 36 times on nfl.com, knowing the outcome and make a judgment as compared to being in the pocket. TJ Graham is staring at the goalpost for the majority of the play. CJ Spiller is open in space. He likely wouldn't get in the end zone, he likely would get within the 5. Spike the Ball and you have 2nd and goal. CJ Spiller also was ready and aware of the situation and wanted the ball. TJ Graham was not. I'm emotionally exhausted. I can't take these **** Sandwiches this team is feeding us for much longer.

Um, I was given a warning for proposing where I would urinate once Jerry Sullivan was in the place where the OP invited him to go in the title of this post. Now we got two pages on Jolly Jerry and where he can go. I see the mods are slipping.

Graham had to have run the wrong route...

Yes underneath to the sideline is the right play at that point in time. Or the wide open Spiller for example. -

3 years into the Fitzaster we're blaming the QB for throwing late and over the middle when the game is on the line. Spiller and Jones both look wide open on that play. True it may be that David Nelson post patter, Fitz was expecting. BUT its 2nd down with time to play and that isn't Nelson he is on IR it is a rookie WR and the end zone is flooded with Pats. It was another horrible decision to ice the game for the opponent. There is a preponderance of evidence that Fitz can't win ball games. He is a loser. -

Analysis of Chan's in-game decisions HOU vs. BUF
1B4IDie replied to tornado681's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not only did this decision change the outcome and decrease the chance of winning by two percent, it sent a clear message that the Buffalo Bill are not a win at any cost team. They're not in Houston and will leave everything on the field. They're there to try real hard and if they doesn't work go get a meSsage in the training room no big whoop, houston was nice. Soft coaching, soft team. 4 2nd quarter 4-2-HST 4 (1:45) FG attempt -7 GO FOR IT N -2% -
I've got it.......CHARLIE WHITEHURST!
1B4IDie replied to HeatsPix's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
After you cut Shitzpatrick, Shitpen, and Shartvaros Shitson and draft Tyler Wilson or Geno Smith; I'm on board with Whitehurst. -
That's not a bad idea. He might take a 1 year vet min contract in order to show his stuff to the rest of the NFL and get another big signing bonus in 2013. Criminal. Yet take advantage if you can. When he is motivated in a contract year he seems to play above average.

1.) EJ Manuel and Glennon play I the ACC where Ryan Fitzpatrick would look like Tom Brady. Both EJ Manuel and Glennon put up stats like JaMarcus Russel in that bad conference and look bad while Doing it. Did any one see McGlennon's 3 picks against UVA? UVA!!! Please Bills Nation just stop with this in November. You don't want either of these two starting in 2013. I was big on EJ Manuel 2 years ago but he has proven that he is not a winner or a leader he is just an athlete. 2.) Landry Jones has regressed every year the last two years. Again do you want Trent Edwards part II? No 3.) You do not wait or trade back in to the late 1st for your QB. You take them with your first pick of the first round. With the new CBA and the rookie Salary pool there is no such thing as a "reach" for a QB. Second tier QBs go early now. They do not exist in the second or third round. I.e. Tannehill, Weeden, Ponder. Hell Dalton would be a 3rd round pick pre 2011 draft. If you think Tyler Wilson has what it takes. Can be a leader and is an accurate passer that can male fast decisions under pressure than you take him at #6 or #3 overall. You do not wait and try to get a deal. That is just plain stupid at this point in time.

I would contend that 13-26 is evidence of coaching decisions that increase the likelihood of a loss. Not to mention punting when inside your opponents 40.

Gailey coaches like he knows how limited the talent is
1B4IDie replied to BisonMan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Team is #2 in the NFL averaging a sick 5.3 Yards per carry. That means that offensive line and the RBs are imposing their will on the defense. The Problem is Gailey has imposed his will on our offense and decided to take the two strengths of the team Offensive line run blocking and the RBs OUT OF THE GAME! He also coaches scared. He has punted atleast 3 times when facing a forth down inside the opponents 40! This is unbelievable to happen once, let alone multiple times. Its a 7-3 game, you have 4th and 2 at your opponents 4. Two yards gives you a 1st and goal at the 2. Knowing your defense is horrible and it is only a matter of time until Arian Foster breaks off a run. You need TDs to win not FGs. You are not playing the Cleveland Browns or Kansas City Chiefs. Show some faith in your Offensive line and star RBs and get the two yards or maybe even the 4 for the TD. No, he is scared and goes for the FG. 7-6. Bill Belicheat, Kubiak, or Harbaugh/West would have put their money where their mouths are and taken the chance to take the lead or make the team go 96 yards with 1:45 seconds left in the half. 12 total carries by your best RBs and punting inside your opponents 40 is a demonstration of how not to coach. I'm not calling for his head but I'm questioning his testicular fortitude. Scared money don't make money. -
Imagine if the Bills got the Ball back 20 yards closer to the goaline. The point isn't that that decision lost the game. The point is that if you make coaching decisions like that you're more than likely going to lose the game.

Look at the update I just received: Buffalo Bills @buffalobills Wannstedt: #Bills may look to prevent the Patriots from scoring 45 points in 30 mins on Sunday.
